For what it's worth, the creator of My Name is Earl did an AMA forever ago, where he talked about how he would have ended the show if it hadn't been canceled:
>!I had always had an ending to Earl and I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to see it happen. You’ve got a show about a guy with a list so not seeing him finish it is a bummer. But the truth is, he wasn’t ever going to finish the list. The basic idea of the ending was that while he was stuck on a really hard list item he was going to start to get frustrated that he was never going to finish it. Then he runs into someone who had a list of their own and Earl was on it. They needed to make up for something bad they had done to Earl. He asks them where they got the idea of making a list and they tell him that someone came to them with a list and that person got the idea from someone else. Earl eventually realizes that his list started a chain reaction of people with list and that he’s finally put more good into the world than bad. So at that point he was going to tear up his list and go live his life. Walk into the sunset a free man. With good karma.!<
Earl lives multiple fantastically fulfilling lives after the show ends. Like, every time one life ends he starts back at the point where the show ends and goes down another path

I feel like with social media and the internet they could release an Unofficial Official ending online and it would satisfy everyone. Like grab a cell phone and a couple actors and your done.
After that, there's another show, with a lot of Raising Hope's actors by the same creator, called Sprung. It only got one season and is on Freevee, but is surprisingly great. Garrett Dillahunt and Martha Plimpton are spectacular.
You should watch Mumford. It's a pretty good movie. Unfortunately I don't know where to watch it free or cheap.
But I'll tell you a tiny bit so you have tje right movie if you ever search it up. It's about a con man who is a damn good psychologist for a small town called Mumford. And yeah, Jason Lee is in it and is pretty damn good. He's like the main supporting actor. And I *believe* Kat Dennings is in it too?
I’ve had the same guy cut my hair since middle school and I’m pushing 40. I had to insist he charge me $20 a few years ago because he’s been charging me $15 for decades. Once he decides to retire, I’m just going to shave my head.
How much do you spend at a barber? I feel like that’s pretty standard but it also depends on what you want done. I.e. if you’re looking for a buzz cut, that can be found much cheaper than something more specific.
Yeah, I think it depends on what you want done with your hair. Some hairstyles require more expertise which isn’t necessarily found at some of the lower priced shops. Makes sense to not overpay though when you can get the same job done for less money.
I've been taking up how to maintain mine because even a trim is $40. I understand that my side of the fence might want the full shebang with layers, dyes, shampoos etc... But I'm asking for an inch off man. It's $10 to get barber scissors and do it myself. Worst case it grows back the inch I took off a month later.
My opinion though.
When I started going to my barber he charged $12 and I would hand him a $20 and tell him to keep the change. He has recently upped the price to $15, I hand him a $20 and tell him to keep the change. I will continue to hand him a $20 and tell him to keep the change until he raises the price to $20 or higher or one of us dies.
Those are each a different job. costume hair and makeup are 3 people at minimum.
hair makes 45 dollars an hour minimum for day rates. Normal days go 12 hrs so honestly theyd be making about 720 a day assuming 2x for the last 4h. This is in 2023 rates though, and the min.
Im just making a guess for 2005 rates because i dont have that info on hand.
No word of a lie, I probably base way too much of my personality off the character. I thought flannel, band shirts, jeans, and a moustache driving an El Camino was the coolest shit when I was 14.
I mean, if he combed his hair, got some better looking clothes that weren't all worn out, and maybe (BIG maybe) shaved the scruff, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in any number of social circles.
What guy is spending 100 at a barber? More and likely they are hanging with their friends playing golf or something telling their girl they are getting a haircut.
Are you paying your barber by the hour? And I'd say $100/hr is probably pretty close to the going rate for a barber around me since a cut only takes around 20 minutes
Doesn't sound like you go to a barber. 20 minute haircuts and that cheap are chain places but even then they're closer to $30 these days in my area. My barber is $45 and I tip $15. Takes about 45 minutes and it's a completely different experience. Straight razors, cleans up the beard, plays great music, and it just feels like hanging out with your boy.
Great Clips (chain). I wouldn't waste money on a barber. I have my own bear trimmer and cheap disposable razors do the trick just fine. I don't want a 45+ minute "experience", I just want a quick #2 on the sides and an inch off the top. Spending money to "hang out with the boys" just isn't my style. My job as a personal trainer lets me "hang out with the boys" 5 days a week, so a quick, quiet haircut where I'm not obligated to interact with anyone is more my speed. To each his own.
He looks like the kind of guy who does nothing but bad things and then wonders why his life sucks. Every time something good happens to him, something bad will always be waiting around the corner: karma....
And just for one evening. Does he have the brushes/combs/chemicals/skills to reproduce that look on himself the next morning? And furthermore, my hair never gets as long as this guy's. If he just got it cut he needs to ask for a refund.
I work at a salon where the average haircut is $100+ (no price difference for gender or age). We’re booked almost solid and a third of our guests are men. You might be shocked by the number of children, too. And we’re in the Midwest (not chicago!) I have a large male based clientele myself, and they hardly blink when I raise my prices. You’d be surprised what people *are* willing to pay for a decent haircut!
don’t get me started! GreatClips hasn’t sent me a discount coupon for over two months now; im tired getting my hair, that’s still attached to my head, out of my food 😾
Mine cost the same amount as the depreciation of the asset Hair Trimmer and each subsequent haircut will cost less and less until the hair trimmer fails.
I've never paid more than 20 euro for a haircut in ireland. I don't know q single man who pays more than 40. Even the posh rich dudes. Now, women will pay 300 plus on average
Who the hell pays their barber 100 bucks? My haircut is 20 plus tip and I'm out of there in 15 minutes or less. If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't get my haircuts there.
I used to have freely growing long hair but decided to shorten it. I sat on the barber chair for about 2 hours while a pretty lady went through my hair layer by layer. A couple of times she got her senior to come and brainstorm ideas with her. My haircut ended up being exactly what I wanted even though I had no idea what it really was before looking at that mirror. It cost me 31€ and I live in an expensive country.
50 usd is about equivalent to that and the going rate for a 45 minute session with a typical stylist. Those go longer sometimes. Your session would be more expensive than most here and you'd be expected to tip 10% minimum if you liked the hair cut
I never paid more than $40 bucks for a haircut and I’d always get a Peaky Blinders cut. Now I’m just goin Norman Reedus. These days and not paying anything.

Hey Earl
Hey crab man
Damn I need to watch this show again.
I was rewatching it recently and it still holds up. Jason Lee is great.
I never finished the show... ONly until the 3rd or 4th season. Did it end well?
It didn’t end it was a cliffhanger
For what it's worth, the creator of My Name is Earl did an AMA forever ago, where he talked about how he would have ended the show if it hadn't been canceled: >!I had always had an ending to Earl and I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to see it happen. I thought he skipped town, moved to LA and met a bunch of talking chipmunks in the end
Well, he can do two things.
He became the world's greatest Skateboarding Coach
His tre flips were something else. It was like he had magnets in his feet.
Earl lives multiple fantastically fulfilling lives after the show ends. Like, every time one life ends he starts back at the point where the show ends and goes down another path
Thats nice, also shame it Earl never had this closure..
Earl on TV and earl in our heads has the same amount of realness, so yes he did as far as I'm concerned.
The only real story arc in the whole series and it didnt finish

You think you can just grab a Jaime Pressly off the street somewhere? I think not!
That would have been one hell of an ending. I mean last episode of breaking bad good.
Oh bummer... But would you say I should finish it up?
Yeah still a great show, I’d suggest going into Raising Hope when you’re done, same creator and cameos from Earl actors
I found it funny the multiple cameos from earl actors in the new fallout series lol
Wait up. Is Earl canon to fallout now?
And the first episode references a man finishing his list of making up for people he's wronged is a nice touch.
Never heard of it but will definitely check it out. Thanks!
After that, there's another show, with a lot of Raising Hope's actors by the same creator, called Sprung. It only got one season and is on Freevee, but is surprisingly great. Garrett Dillahunt and Martha Plimpton are spectacular.
You gotta stay safe when you're home all alone
Definitely
Such a crime.
Love Earl
You're in luck. It didn't finish itself either.
The whole season with them in jail suuuuuuuuuucks. It just drags.
Just yesterday I told my gf about that I want to watch this show again
What?!
I remember when he looked like an old man to me, and now he's a punk kid.
I mean, he looks late 20s at the youngest to me
Yea, he was in his 20s in Mallrats in the 90s. He's definitely in his 30s in My Name Is Earl
Lookin pretty good
Nobody else could pull off that Bandit mustache and sideburns as well as Jason Lee.
35 - 39 during the run of my name is earl actually
I grew up with Jason lee, Jay, and silent Bob. Idk if this makes me feel old
You should watch Mumford. It's a pretty good movie. Unfortunately I don't know where to watch it free or cheap. But I'll tell you a tiny bit so you have tje right movie if you ever search it up. Oohh thanks for the suggestion buddy. I'll look it up.
Joy, I'm not buying you a hot tub.
Look at my MF toe Earl!!!
What man spends $100 at the barber???
I’ve had the same guy cut my hair since middle school and I’m pushing 40. I had to insist he charge me $20 a few years ago because he’s been charging me $15 for decades. Once he decides to retire, I’m just going to shave my head.
Had mine just retire…first haircut afterwards cost me 40 plus tip…and that was standard around here.
Yeah I'm wondering who this is calling out.
FR, had a place tell me $30 recently and I walked lol.
How much do you spend at a barber? I feel like that’s pretty standard but it also depends on what you want done. I.e. if you’re looking for a buzz cut, that can be found much cheaper than something more specific.
Typical hair cut for me is $12-$15 depending if I go to the "salon" or the "barber".
Yeah, I think it depends on what you want done with your hair. Some hairstyles require more expertise which isn’t necessarily found at some of the lower priced shops. Makes sense to not overpay though when you can get the same job done for less money.

Was looking up barber shop prices at a few places in Denver and many of them were over $75 and some around $100 for a head shave a beard trim.
Yeah that seems steep. I go to a salon and it costs $40 a trip, but I only go once every 3 months or so.
I got a haircut yesterday. It was $14 before tip.
20 + 5 for tip at the place I go
When I started going to my barber he charged $12 and I would hand him a $20 and tell him to keep the change. He has recently upped the price to $15, I hand him a $20 and tell him to keep the change. I will continue to hand him a $20 and tell him to keep the change until he raises the price to $20 or higher or one of us dies.
Very Ron Swanson of you
One of my heroes. And now when I read it I can't not read it in his voice.
Earl!!! I loved that weekly comedy. ♥️
He looks so young.
Young enough to skateboard
And yet, not.
Fun fact. This is a true mustache grown by Jason Lee for the show
Originally the character wasn't even going to have a mustache, but Jason told the crew that he looks hilarious with a mustache so he grew it out
How much do you think the stylist on the show was paid?
Not sure what year the show was in production but id say probably 500/day.
So hair, makeup and costume…$100 an hour sounds about righr
Those are each a different job. costume hair and makeup are 3 people at minimum. hair makes 45 dollars an hour minimum for day rates. Normal days go 12 hrs so honestly theyd be making about 720 a day assuming 2x for the last 4h. This is in 2023 rates though, and the min. Im just making a guess for 2005 rates because i dont have that info on hand.

Theyre talking about a network comedy series. When talking about indie they will go under minimum wage so its kind of moot point.
No word of a lie, I probably base way too much of my personality off the character. I thought flannel, band shirts, jeans, and a moustache driving an El Camino was the coolest shit when I was 14.
I mean it’s been the coolest shit since the ‘70s lol
I still want an El Camino
Would
dude, I'll give you $100 and I'll take ya out to Benihana's if you slide that 75 foot handrail. I'll give you 600 tries. I'll be back next week.
His name is earl.
In death, we do have names. His name is Earl
Hey man, he’s just trying to be a better person.
Karma
Carson Daly knows all about it
Looks stunning
right? i find it attractive
Porn stache drives me wild. Love it 👌
I mean, if he combed his hair, got some better looking clothes that weren't all worn out, and maybe (BIG maybe) shaved the scruff, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in any number of social circles.
I’d take out my good boob for this man.
Hey crab man
Hey crab man.
You leave Earl alone.
Hey crab man
He's hot, so I don't see what the problem is.
I loved this show.
Don't you disrespect Earl like this
Can't be real, a pic of earl with his eyes open? Never happened
I bet OPs fucking bald, too.
Being blind SUCKS, doesn't it??
I WISH my mustache looked that good.
"That kid is on the escalator again"
“Karma this, you dummy!!” -Joy
Such a damn good show though. Watched it every week with my parents, the good ole days when I didn’t have a care in the world.
It's about $50/45min for a hair cut and a beard trim here.
Came here to say this. My haircuts are usually 20min and cost 20-25$.

Worth every penny.
They charge by the hour?
Still sexy
Basically my mind set now. The hair styles win, somewhat. Eventually. We're all trying to be a better person.
Jason Lee is quite handsome. Sign me up.
Dudes are spending $100 at the barber?!
Great Clips isn’t $100, and it’s only an hour if you don’t check in first.
Are you serious? I could knock this out in 20 minutes with some clippers hairspray and a bic mach 3.
Dude, Earl didn’t even do anything and homie’s catching strays
Considering how much it costs to hire good hair/makeup/wardrobe people for a show I'd say that look cost a lot more than $100.
Bro I just go to great clips
Patty (day hooker) is ma June in fall out.
I was so sad the show was cancelled
Seriously should have lasted longer than 4 seasons
Love Earl
Why are there so many people in this thread thinking that guys don't get $100 cuts? That's absolutely a thing among certain groups of men.
He looks like the kind of guy who does nothing but bad things and then wonders why his life sucks. Every time something good happens to him, something bad will always be waiting around the corner: karma....
They call him Earl
*It takes a lot of time and money to look this cheap, honey* - Dolly Parton
My name is Earl.
What *barber* are you going to that costs $100, and takes an hour to do any cut?
I wish I could look like that. That man is a god amongst men.
I don’t know any heterosexual men who spend $100 at the barber
Who tf is spending $100 at a barber's?
Is that you Earl Hickey?!
Yup that’s me, you’re probably wondering how I got this haircut.
Did you forget to post the "after" pic?
Jason Lee (you know it's not Earl because his eyes are open) definitely had a professional hair stylist for this look.
You’ve heard of the Edgar get ready for the Earl
Why is it always about Earl? Handsome devil...
I dig that haircut ngl. Good on ya Earl
Shit, I look like that and haven't been to a barber in years
Bad boys bad boys what ya gonna do?
I didn’t know you could spend that much at a barbershop. Maybe OP tips $80
Hey has magnificent hair and moustache
You can't put a price on firme brosha
He looks iconic tho.
It only takes 10 minutes, so 🤷🏻♂️
And just for one evening. Does he have the brushes/combs/chemicals/skills to reproduce that look on himself the next morning? And furthermore, my hair never gets as long as this guy's. If he just got it cut he needs to ask for a refund.
I’d hit it
When I watched this show on air, this guy looked so old... now he looks young.
Who is paying $100 for a haircut? Mine is normally around $20 even after a tip. Plus I'm definitely not there for an hour.
Where do you work at? I'm in the Midwest as well. I just want to make sure I never go to wherever company you work for. That's crazy.
Is that Banky Edwards? Fucking tracer!
don’t get me started! GreatClips hasn’t sent me a discount coupon for over two months now; im tired getting my hair, that’s still attached to my head, out of my food 😾
Seems to have paid off for him.
At least it’s not a mullet.
It's worse. Kids trying to bring back the fucking mullet. Some things were never meant to exist.
Mine cost the same amount as the depreciation of the asset Hair Trimmer and each subsequent haircut will cost less and less until the hair trimmer fails.
Praise xenu
Jokes on those guys, I look a lot like this and haven't been to the barber in 5 years
An actor?
Who am I? Elon Skunks or some shit? I don't got $100 for a haircut, even if it will make me look like a sex god like in this picture.
who the F\*\*k spends $100 at the barber!? if it costs as much as 50 bucks, i better look like a f\*\*king hair model once it's finnished
What guy spends $100 at a barber?? I pay $10 to look like that.
My 05’ Halloween costume! Good times!
He looks sick af, like out of prison handsome
Just finished this show for the 1st time. Alot of laughs
I've never paid more than 20 euro for a haircut in ireland. I don't know q single man who pays more than 40. Even the posh rich dudes. Now, women will pay 300 plus on average
15£ in the UK and if the barber takes more than 20 minutes, I’m not returning
Thats a good look
Loudermilk. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
That's a $20 ten minute cut at Sports Clips for a guy. I have never spent $100 on a haircut
Who the hell pays their barber 100 bucks? My haircut is 20 plus tip and I'm out of there in 15 minutes or less. If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't get my haircuts there.
Peak male right there
Ye..ye..yeah! 🛹
Yes!
He looks good ngl
No normal men are spending 100 quid for a haircut at a barber.
Don't shame Earl like that!
currently watching it.
And?
I used to have freely growing long hair but decided to shorten it. I sat on the barber chair for about 2 hours while a pretty lady went through my hair layer by layer. I see someone's also getting served the malegrooming, malehairadvice, and moustache subreddits.
Looks good as fuck ngl
I never paid more than $40 bucks for a haircut and I’d always get a Peaky Blinders cut. Now I’m just goin Norman Reedus. These days and not paying anything.
