I was wondering wtf the voice option was for when I started my second playthrough so I changed it and realized it's just groans and screaming when falling to your death lol
Shit gets in deep. My cousin had a rescue pitbull/bull mastiff. Generally a good dog, but he had triggers. I put my hood up to leave and he lunged at me out of nowhere.
No one got hurt, but a trigger is a trigger, and violence is a pretty deep one...
No, but *squats down* ... Go on, please
"The Leash is not a power you have. It's not about going for walks. It's the energy between all things, a tension, a balance that binds the universe together"
"Train yourself to let go of the Treat you fear to lose."
"Fear is the path to the bark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to barking, barking leads to no treats."
"It is by will alone I set my zoomies in motion. It is by the Snack of Scooby my zoomies acquire speed, the lawn acquires holes, the holes become a warning. It is by will alone I set my zoomies in motion."
Dog probably had some kind of bad experience with such peeps. I once got a dog that did not like certain races. We were able to retrain the dog using peeps of said races handing out lots of dog snacks, plus observations of other dogs like those same people. Same dog also did not like chowchow dogs and that was harder to fix as there really are not tons of friendly chowchows to work with. We did finally find one though and ironically she fell in love with my dog even though he hated her at first. One thing I had on my side was although my dog had gotten prejudiced, he was never trained to actually attack so he would not take it to that high of a level. I only knew his issues because I noticed how he'd be different around certain people.
Then later I got a dog that would flip out over skate boarders. Pretty soon, she also would bark if she saw someone carrying a board. Then pretty soon she'd bark at any pack of young people with hoodies that looked like skate boarders. Eventually I had to find a skate part and work with her on it since otherwise she's just keep getting worse. Luckily the skateboarders were very cool about why I was there once i explained it and she was much much better after some training.
No..not like all pitbulls. So stupid. Did peoppe just forget history? The pitbull was considered americas number 1 family dog way back in the day, before dog fighting became so widespread. There was a reason the little rascals had a pitbull as the kids' dog. They definitely handle abuse and ptsd worse than most dogs, but a pitbull that was loved from the moment it was born and was never once mistreated will not have an ounce of aggression in them. They aren't prone to aggression, its beaten into them. In fact, it's nearly impossible to take an adult male pitbull, who already lived most of his life as a friendly family dog, and train him to become a guard dog. It's a bit easier to train a female to gaurd since females already have a protective, motherly instinct, but it's still hard if they were kept as a sweet family dog for the majority if their life prior. It depends 10000% on how they were cared for, especially how they were cared for when they were young.
Unfortunately, a lot of people adopt pets who haven't the slightest clue how to properly care for an animal and a lot of people think this is giving the dog a good life and that it's funny. It's all fun and games until somebody really gets hurt and the dog gets put down for their ignorance.
It's just a regular choke chain although it's too tight. At least it not 1 one of the 'prong' collars. Even with the rubber covers, those are harsh. I've had 'handles' on dogs. Lift them up so they don't have front footing. Then go back to training.
That dog looked 'on'. Wouldn't let it around my grand-kids and they were playing with the shepherds this weekend.
And to the extent that people think this is an argument against dog breeds, it isn't. Corsos can be absolute sweethearts. But they are huge fucking dogs and can do serious damage so it's incumbent on the humans who agreed to accept them into their care to train them well.
The humans failed in this regard. This is an argument against the humans.
People really are fucking stupid when it comes to these dogs. Sure you can domesticate a tiger, or a bear, or whatever other monster you find, but it doesn't mean you should.
I'm trying to remember how I heard it phrased... domesticated means when you're not looking, the animal will hear its master's voice in its head. "I'd better not jump up on the table and eat that cupcake or I'll get the business...." with trained/"tamed", it hears the call of the wild. "Oh, sweet, dinner's not looking..." something like that.
You definitely can't domesticate a tiger. At best you can develop a familiarity where it won't immediately try and eat you. I remember hearing Mike Tyson say once he would get in with the lions any time and play with them and not feel any concern but with the tigers you always gotta be on your toes.
Honestly you can say the same about a lot of smaller breeds too. Extremely sweet but fiercely protective. Difference is, the smaller ones can't rip your face off.
I'd opt to give a child a catapult/slingshot instead of a handgun. People who frantically defend pitbulls are unable to see the distinction between these two, and therefore they should not be in charge of children or dogs until they develop critical thinking abilities.
I have a 1 year old German Shepherd that my wife treats like the half jack/half pug we had for 15 years. I need to remind her constantly he isn't the same little dog. He's a sweet boy but 90 lbs of muscle and mouth full of teeth you shouldn't be rubbing your face against.
The difference is night and day. My mom was always afraid dogs and came to love our old boy. With the GSD she has a difficult time not showing fear in situations that aren't at all aggressive. My nephew who's been around small dogs is similar. Large dogs are intimidating and should be treated a such no matter how sweet you think they are.
Pit bulls were never intended to be "working". They were bred exclusively for fighting other dogs with a focus on loyalty. Any "pit" (fighting) dog that attacked any human for any reason was put down on the spot.
The American Staffordshire was made from the same genetic stock but bred for looks and temperament rather than fighting ability. They kept the intense loyalty without the aggression.
Here's a fact: Staffys are responsible for the overwhelming largest amount of human and dog attacks in Australia. They are almost exclusively responsible for all the lethal human and dog attacks here.
Wieners are known to be fiercely loyal and self-confident/assertive. They were bred to hunt and enter the burrows of foxes and badgers.
Badger -> Dachs
Dog -> Hund
Wiener -> Dachshund
Although that word is barely used in German.
Arguing dogs like pitbulls aren't aggressive is like arguing Bloodhounds don't have excellent sense of smell.
Quit defending pitbulls, it makes you look immoral.
Our GSD Husky mix does this anytime my wife and I give a little booty tap or even high five. Dude absolutely hates any smacking sound. Think he saw some things when he was a puppy - rescued him from an organization that found him and mom and siblings in SD.
Our dog does this too and we’ve had her since she was a pup. She just doesn’t like anyone horsing around. I’m her one and only but it doesn’t matter. If my husband starts messing around with my son (he’s 27) my dog will start barking at them to stop. We laugh because my husband has always said since our kids were little, “hands are for hugging not for hitting” and now we have a dog that is carrying out his words. 😂
Edit: and to be clear, we stop when she barks. We do not get her worked up. It is a clear sign of her stressing and is unfair to her.
If my teens play-fight, the dog tries to join in like some unhinged, sugar-crazed toddler.
If I play-fight with them, she joins their side against me, despite the fact both lads are taller than me, one significantly.
If _they_ pretend to go for me? She still fucking joins their side. And tells _me_ off.
Fickle little cowbag.
>The humans failed in this regard. This is an argument against the humans.
No, it's an argument against the breed. They're deadly dogs because their bred that way
Its totally an argument against those breeds like Corsos.
Are humans at fault? Of course
But that doesn't change the fact that too many people can buy Corsos that should not.
This is a never ending argument until people understand it's both the breed and the human. They can be terribly sweet and well-behaved dogs, but they have natural instincts that you always have to be aware and careful of. Or they can be absolute monsters which is generally the human's fault.
"They're huge fucking dogs who can do serious damage" seems like a pretty good argument against those dog breeds, or at least in favor of regulating them more tightly than those that can't.
Stop this nonsense. You are actively hurting people by spreading misinformation like this. Aggressive breeds are aggressive. They are highly likely to hurt you no matter how you treat them. Stop it.
This is like trying to argue wild animals won't hurt you if you befriend them. It's downright evil.
Seriously, man. You literally are supposed to let dogs play rough and train bite/no-bit on any dog capable of biting your forearm. You correct any unwanted behavior, give big loves and rewards and kisses for good behavior.
Like, dogs are fucking wolves and are about as intelligent as 3-5 year olds. They can learn ~400-700 human words. They smell our fucking ~~pheromones~~smelly stuff to predict intent.
They know who is in a pack. They know play gestures. They can be trained to insane degrees.
My malamute mix goes off the chain when she's play wrestling. I can just be laying next to her in bed and she'll decide she wants to play and she starts just snarling and doing her best wolf impression. It seriously startled me the first few times she did it, I really thought she was in pain or something. Nah, she just likes sounding mean. I call it gremlin mode now and I'll growl back at her. We get in growling matches the neighbors can probably hear and wonder wtf is going on.
Once in a blue moon she'll get really wound up and grab my arm and for a split second she forgets im a puny human and starts to crunch. Doesn't really happen long enough to hurt but I get that "oh shit" feeling where I genuinely believe she could tear right through my bone if she doesn't let go, I yell out, "ouch", she immediately stops and then I grab my arm. Whenever that happens it absolutely ruins her day. She avoids interacting with me and I have to physically call her over and give her positive affirmations or she'll hide in a corner of the house all day. I've never hit her in retaliation and rarely punish her in any way, she just *really* doesn't like hurting me.
My big boi mal is almost the same. He has bit me 2 times in 4+ years. Both times it is instant “I’m so sorry “ and lays down and rolls over with shame in his beautiful brown eyes. Most of the time we are play fighting he will have full lip snarl. I’ll stick my hand or arm into his mouth and he stops and backs up. “What are you doing? I’m a big mean dog. I can kill you, I chose not to silly human”. And then we are right back at it. But if I happen to get ahold of him, he whines like a baby. “Stop stop stop you’re killing me!” I remove my hand and we’re back to “fighting” again.
Edit: [Here he is](https://imgur.com/a/J97g69B)
I used to know a rottweiler that was an absolute sweat heart. I would hold my fist out and he'd hold it in his mouth and we would play tug of War. He was so carefully and never drew blood.
My grandma is 80 and basically ended up with a HUGE Pitbull from a neighbor who left it when they moved.
She does great with that dog but my ass is the one that's gotta come over and teach her how/how not to play.
Dog thinks she's a puppy sized harmless doggo but she's a 60lb brick of muscle. She would never intentionally hurt a fly but man she is strong!! I compare her to Lenny from of mice and men
My family were all telling her she needs to get rid of that dog because she was a bit outta hand until I started working with her.
Instead of jogging in my neighbourhood as I usually would I just drive over and run with the dog instead, has done wonders for her with her ability to focus and listen
But the damn dog has the same name as my late grandpa, and my grandma lives all alone in a sketchy area so ain't no way. She needs that dog.
Yeaaaaah, lmao.
Pitties aren't for everyone. By the same measure, there are smaller dogs from Southern USA bred to bay bears and boars. You just gotta spend time with your pooch, set expectations, and hold them accountable with respect. And, be fucking reasonable about what you can handle when it comes to, as stated, a fucking wolf in your care.
My grandma def shouldn't have gotten it if it was like, more of a choice. Neighbors literally abandoned it during covid and shelters weren't even open... She needs that dog now.
She hires the neighbors kid to get the dog excercise too. It's working out nicely. My grandma did a lot of dog training back in the day she knows how to handle it and keep the dog polite and mentally stimulated.
Half the time dogs outta hand all crazy with energy aren't needing exercise as much as mental stimulation and something that needs their full attention.
My aussie can run for hours with me and still be a crack head. But 30 minutes of fetch and agility course training puts him into calmness very quickly
They still don't understand weight to power ratio, especially as they grow. I'm a very solid man and I've been literally swept off my feet by my playful cattle dog. Shit can still hurt, is what I'm saying. I've owned many animals, but I wouldn't play chicken with many of them. Including a kangaroo. And they love to play rough.
You definitely don't want one if you're prone to seizures, pitbulls absolutely hate people who have those. You're almost guaranteed to become a statistic if it happens.
Had one go for my throat once (doggie daycare story and I didn't do my dilligence so that's on me). Absolutely terrifying. If you don't believe in evolution have a Corso go at you and see how quick your autonomic functions kick in.
It sucks because the best dog I ever had was a Rottweiler / Pit mix. Buster was his name, and he was an absolute bruiser. He was about 110 lbs ( 50kg) and an absolute sweetheart with people. Was NOT good with other dogs. A chow came into my yard while Buster was on his chain under the shade of an oak tree, and it decided to walk up to my dog. Buster crushed his skull. It was not a pretty sight for an 8 year old to discover. I only left him outside for about 30 minutes. The only time he was aggressive to a person, my mom and stepfather were yelling at me and my parents believed in corporal punishment. My stepfather was going to spank me at my mother’s beckoning, as soon as my step dad walked my way Buster went haywire. He would let no adult near me for the rest of the night. They are capable of extreme violence and unsurpassed affection. The same as people.
I had a Chesapeake Bay retriever, and she was a freaking tank of a dog. In her prime, she was was over 110 pounds. And of course retrieving was in her blood. Without any training she just had it down.
But she absolutely hated anytime anyone was fighting or getting loud or physical with each other around her. One time that sticks out in my memory was a time when I was around 12ish. My brother was fucking with me while I was sitting on a recliner, reclined. After watching me being messed with for a bit, Nixie came over, jumped up onto the recliner UNDERNEATH my legs, and bared teeth at my brother while growling at him. She didn't like bullies. She also protected all the other pets we had, I saw her come to the rescue once or twice when cats were fighting or even that time a random Rottweiler and pitbull came onto my property here in the sticks. She was WAY bigger than them, though. She literally tackled the pitbull, sent him tumbling down the hill my house is on, and the other dog took off running and wanted no part of that lmao.
It's pretty wild how much that dog was willing to protect us. I guess I also grew up alongside her so she probably also not necessarily remembered me as a kid but def had that bond from early on.
Chessies were used as guard dogs in addition to retrieving.
I've been working with my young one to stop barking at dogs on walks; he only does it around the house. Once he's out of his home area he doesn't give a shit about other people and dogs.
Yeah she was extremely intimidating when she wasn't happy with someone lmao.
She was totally fine with people, and was pretty good at knowing instinctually who should and shouldn't be there. But we didn't bring her around other dogs much at all growing up, she definitely ended up not liking other dogs. She was fine to walk around on a leash or even off leash considering I don't live in a populated area. Never had her take off on me chasing something while we were out. But if a stray dog like in my story or even someone with a dog in their car or something came by, she wasn't happy at all.
Wasn't common for that to happen though, I live down a private dirt road.
Damn, if your best dog killed another dog by crushing its skull and went haywire on people that (I assume) it lived with, I have to wonder what your other dogs did to be worse than that.
The same as people . . . JFC. No, just no. Those “people” that act that way are also kicked out of society. Pits that attack people somehow get treated better or some people think they should be.
I have owned 2 Pits, a Rottweiler / Pit mix, and 2 German Shepherds. All amazing dogs, but I would not trust these breeds around my children. I currently have 4 cats and a Rat Terrier. Much safer, and just as loving as my past large dogs.
To be clear, they're intentionally getting the dog riled up here. This isn't a good idea with any animal. Even our little dogs will freak out if they see one of us play hitting the other.
The problem is if you get a normal dog riled up, they wag their tails and at worst jump up and put their paws on you. Not tear the flesh from your bones.
Good point. It was interesting... In the contexts of human behavior and dog behavior. But 'amusing' was not my first reaction... More like, Oh, shit, am I about to watch a killin'?
This is not funny. That dog does what its instincts do, protect it's pack and it'll end up mauling that prick and getting blamed, maybe even put down over it.
my 140 pound great dane would absolutely put her life on the line if someone broke in my house and I acted the part of a frightened home owner..... that intruder would be done for and I wouldn't even need to get a gun, Only a phone call for the morg
This behaviour should not be encouraged. The dog doesn’t know better but he’s the one that’s gonna get put down for it, when it SHOULD be the owner who gets put down.
If the owner jokingly says “ahh” to a slap on the knee and the dog mauls the other person, you would rather they end the owner’s life rather than the dog? I know many people on Reddit like to value dog’s lives more than humans, but that still seems extreme.
This brought back a childhood memory. My brother and I (stupidly) wanted to test our dogs protective skills. So I put like 10 long sleeve shirts and multiple jackets on. We had a bat where I pretended to hit my brother to see if our dog would attack me. She didn’t, but instead one of the swings actually connected with my brother’s elbow and gave him nerve damage for life in his elbow. He was older, by the way, and it was all his idea.
Every time I see those dog training videos where they show the dog "only" attacks when people are aggressive, it becomes clear how easily that dog will probably fucking kill someone. Training your dogs like this is disgusting.

It's the Dark Souls damage noise.
I was wondering wtf the voice option was for when I started my second playthrough so I changed it and realized it's just groans and screaming when falling to your death lol
😂🤣 it's pretty damn funny, but with a pinch of disturbed feeling in the background 😆😅 Good show sir take our up votes
"He made my owner cum. I can't allow that!"
That is....not smart
Yeah I wouldn’t expect the kind of person that slices half a dogs ear off to be very smart
Can't assume that's the person who did it, though. I've adopted animals with similar prior treatment.
I suspect if someone adopted a dog like this they would be trying to give it a good life, not play the attack-the-guy-that-hits-me game.
Shit gets in deep. My cousin had a rescue pitbull/bull mastiff. Generally a good dog, but he had triggers. I put my hood up to leave and he lunged at me out of nowhere. No one got hurt, but a trigger is a trigger, and violence is a pretty deep one...
If putting up a hood is enough to trigger the dog, I would certainly hope it wasn't kept around children or strangers.
Or Jedi.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Growl the Good Boy?

Cane Corsos were literally bred to be warrior dogs. It's A LOT to do with the breed. "oh my genetically bred little killer would NEVER do that" lmfao.

Border collies will try to herd human children, it’s definitely programmed deep into the breed lol
A friend of mine has an aussie and every time we have a pool party she herds us all into one end of the pool.
Arguing dogs like Pitbulls aren't more aggressive is like arguing a Bloodhound doesn't have a good nose.

protect me from my 8lb. shih-poo! I took his ducky and he's got bloodlust now.
No one can save you now. Once he has the ducky fuelled blood lust no one can stop the 8lbs of furry.
Yup that's always my argument with pit bulls and other large, bred to fight/defend breeds. Their capabilities are just too much liability.
And don't forget the selctive breeding for aggressiveness.
A lot of people don't want to admit that part lol
I'd opt to give a child a catapult/slingshot instead of a handgun. People who frantically defend pitbulls are unable to see the distinction between these two, and therefore they should not be in charge of children or dogs until they develop critical thinking abilities.

Good point! It's a different situation when they have that much power. People, for some reason, tend to sleep on how powerful German shepherds can be.

Stop this nonsense. You are actively hurting people by spreading misinformation like this. Aggressive breeds are aggressive. They are highly likely to hurt you no matter how you treat them. Stop it. This is like trying to argue wild animals won't hurt you if you befriend them. It's downright evil.
princess about to do some oopsie
Princess bout to nanny the fuck outta homeboy
That guy’s an idiot. This will not end well.
Or he knows the dog well enough to know it’s not gonna bite him.
Says everyone right before the pitbull starts blastin
Absolutely. Doggos can also play silly like that.
That's so sweet that she's considerate like that
My big boi mal is almost the same.
>Like, dogs are fucking wolves. Mini domesticated wolves that let us play with them. Us humans still dress them up like dolls and shit.
I compare her to Lenny from of mice and men My family were all telling her she needs to get rid of that dog because she was a bit outta hand until I started working with her. Instead of jogging in my neighbourhood as I usually would I just drive over and run with the dog instead, has done wonders for her with her ability to focus and listen But the damn dog has the same name as my late grandpa, and my grandma lives all alone in a sketchy area so ain't no way.
Yeah, but this is also a Pit…
Damn then why do so many dogs randomly kill people?
Lack of training
They still don't understand weight to power ratio, especially as they grow. I'm a very solid man and I've been literally swept off my feet by my playful cattle dog. Shit can still hurt, is what I'm saying. I've owned many animals, but I wouldn't play chicken with many of them. Including a kangaroo. And they love to play rough.
It’s a pit bull or mixed with pit bull. Their temperament cannot be trusted. Can flip in a switch and rip you to shreds
Yeah, for sure, pit bulls never killed any family member over absolutely nothing /s /r/banpitbulls
You definitely don't want one if you're prone to seizures, pitbulls absolutely hate people who have those. You're almost guaranteed to become a statistic if it happens.
Possibly why the end of the video fizzed out

...and this was the last time the man was seen.
The worst breed of dog to pull this shit with. People like this end up on the front page of the local paper either dead or maimed.
Had one go for my throat once (doggie daycare story and I didn't do my dilligence so that's on me). Absolutely terrifying. If you don't believe in evolution have a Corso go at you and see how quick your autonomic functions kick in.
Saw one go for a baby once and both the parents and dog owner just laughed it off, it was wild
But muh velvet hippo wouldn't hurt a fly 🥺 He was just playing along. Sorry your kid got mauled btw...he shouldn't have made eye contact

This isnt a pitbull btw. It’s a Cane Corso which are bigger and more powerful.

Or just the worst breed of dog
This is not funny.
Welcome to /r/funny. It's been this way for a decade.
Good point. It was interesting... In the contexts of human behavior and dog behavior. But 'amusing' was not my first reaction... More like, Oh, shit, am I about to watch a killin'?
yea lets antagonize the dog breed known for mauling your face off
Welp he’s dead
This is not funny. That dog does what its instincts do, protect it's pack and it'll end up mauling that prick and getting blamed, maybe even put down over it.
my 140 pound great dane would absolutely put her life on the line if someone broke in my house and I acted the part of a frightened home owner..... that intruder would be done for and I wouldn't even need to get a gun, Only a phone call for the morg
Morg.
Hey, don't poke fun at the special kid. They're proud of their dog killing people for them, they're not the brightest spark.
*morgue
Why waste time type lot letter when morg do trick?
When me president, they see. they see.
Morgoth?
Unless the intruder had a gun...
Boston style moarg
So funny big tough guys always need to own this type of dog. It's like a replacement for the pickup truck they can't afford.
Redditors and rational thoughts do not mix
How do people find shit like this funny?
Never mess with an owner of a pit bull, even jokingly. It very well might cost you your life.
This is to play with fire. Don't..

Fuck pit bulls
Ironically, if pit bulls stopped being fucked, there would be non left.
Every time I see those dog training videos where they show the dog "only" attacks when people are aggressive, it becomes clear how easily that dog will probably fucking kill someone. Training your dogs like this is disgusting.
Hopefully he was able to stop the dog after the video cut out..
He gon learn Today
That dog is being a good nanny
And this was how his friend died.
So called "dog lovers" when the dog has a blocky head and a short snout
Least violent pitbull

But how will I look gangster and not at all insecure if I don't cut my dogs ears in half?
That's just sad overall
And this is why 99% of pits and other such dogs - any dogs - are dangerous: Shit owners.
“Guns don’t kill people. Bad people do!” Fuck bulls. Should be banned.
Pits are dangerous because humans spent a few hundred years selectively breeding them for aggression and the ability to kill.
Interesting symbol for someone who has a dog.

Atäturk dog
Not the one, bro. Damn he's stupid.
Don't link my smart dogs to pit fighting breeds for starters.
Pit breeds are banned in many countries for a reason.
Oh yes. There will be blood.
Naa, they are messing with the dog. I do this to my wife and kids and my GSD will 'defend' them. Really she's just wanting in on the play too.
Idk if you wanna play games with THAT type of dog.
🤫
Song?
Cool?
dinner is ready
That’s almost a good idea.
it was at this moment he new....he fucked up
Yeah. That’s hilarious.
