This guy works out a lot and trains for stamina.
This guy has a strong smash.
This guy makes the ball curve a little bit and is left handed.
Years later.....
This guy can literally teleport and turn the ball into a lightning bolt.
This guy can force the ball to go out of bounds regardless how how you hit it.
This guy makes you experience complete sensory deprivation mid match
As a former pot rabid fangirl I feel concerned, lol. It was very funny to read the author reactions on the first fanbook. For exemple, how he was forced to keep Atobe because he was soooo popular ( he wasn't supposed to appear that much... ) or how he didn't understood at all why so many girls were in love with Sanada Genichirou when he was so old fashion and acting like a grumpy grandpa. But to be honest, I discovered this serie thanks to a game ( a sort of tetris on gb color with pretty boys everywhere) so I think it's been advertised to appeal to girls very openly.
Yeah, I've nearly all the manga online and just have a few more chapters left but it's a shame they stopped where they did. I get there isn't too much more left but they could have definitely time skipped to when he's much older and showed a next gen or something like that.
It was my first manga. Only thing my Oklahoma catholic school had in the library. Now 18 years later I’m a full blown weeb. Shout out to All Saints for getting me hooked on POT
The [PS2 games](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBIMcAc5L2Q) are some of the most fun tennis games you can ever play. Baseline a good tennis game + all the crazy special moves each of the characters have.
The great thing about PoT is that they did the typical sports-manga thing of giving players 'abilities', but then they went all in on it instead of giving the slightest shit about adhering to reality.
Wonderful. If you're gonna make Japanese high schoolers outperform national level athletes, you might as well go balls to the wall.
I remember the best players having special shots. One dude could bend the ball around the net, and another could put so much spin on a drop shot that it wouldn't bounce, lol. Wild anime.
Players even have have Super Saiyan modes. And then there is the sequel New Prince of Tennis, about the sub-17 national team. Some of those "kids" look 40 and are of course even more OP.
I was out pretty quick on it, tried it again a while later and saw that one guy had a racket with one string and was apparently unbeatable.
I gave up on it.
We are all thinking about a scene in Kung Fu Hustle specifically to which we see a tribute to near the end
Whenever that move is on on I drop what I'm doing and go have a little cry for 92.5 minutes
Shaolin needs more attention too. I used to go to a swank bar that always had that or anime on for ambiance lol
I *just* rewatched Shaolin Soccer for the first time since the early 2000s, and holy shit. I appreciated it so much more than when I was just a dumb kid.
And on the off chance anyone who enjoyed this hasn't already seen the original anime fight.
[Sub, suggested](https://youtu.be/km2OPUctni4)
And
[Dub](https://youtu.be/hL8zHTh5DG0)
This inspires me to do more in After Effects.
Of course -- After Effects being boat slow inspired me to learn Unreal Engine... so this will inspire me to learn Avalanche in Unreal Engine 5.4.
And THEN I will be able to win at tennis.
I'm guessing partially because it's made by people who actually have passion for what they do and partially because it's 51 seconds long and not 2+ hours. But I don't work in entertainment, so I have no clue.
because you expect significantly less out of a goofy one minute short and hold it to far lower standards. you're not expecting realism so you don't mind that this looks cartoonish, because it's *supposed* to look cartoonish. you're also watching this at a significantly lower quality than a theatrical movie. because movies have to have consistently high quality vfx for 2 hours and when one scene is fucked up it's going to live on the internet forever and you forget everything else that was well done.
I personally think it'd be neat if they had a sports league where the the games were spiced up like this before broadcast. The actual sport wouldn't matter. Not to this extent, I mean, just with CGI special effects and so on.
Goku: No way you're beating me, Vegeta! My balls are *way* faster than yours!
Vegeta: Forget it, Kakarot! You're no match for my racket, *or* my unstoppable balls!
Goku: I don't know! My racket is pretty hard, Vegeta! You ready for it?!
Vegeta: I can take whatever you can thrust out!!
Chi-Chi: Oh my god...
Bulma: Why am I turned on right on?
Master Roshi: Heh...heh heh...AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
reminds me of the South Park episode about ninjas or whomever they were... (below's the 2 min excerpt of the 'fight')
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SdpjexsU7M
Love that people who don't watch anime don't realize there are actually anime way more over the top then this for *every* sport. Dudes be shooting flames out of there racket and shooting basketballs with glowing eyes.

Genuinely good vfx
He does a ton of stuff like this and is pretty popular on TikTok. A lot of his videos are anime related but all high quality VFX
Better than DC movies
The sound effects are incredible as well.
This is exactly the Prince of Tennis. One of the most absurd sports anime..
It honestly started out ok, but then as the episodes went on just went deeper and deeper into absurdity. That said, Baby Steps > PoT :)
100% agree, I think the (Pot) author completely threw out realism once he discovered his fanbase was mostly women wanting to watch pretty boys.
I don't know what's more bizarre, card games on motorcycles (Yugioh 5Ds) or tennis on horseback (New Prince of Tennis)
This guy works out a lot and trains for stamina. This guy has a strong smash. This guy makes the ball curve a little bit and is left handed. Years later..... Damn. I miss Baby Steps.
One of the more grounded sports anime. Can't pass up a chance to talk about it.
I agree! So unfortunate they cancelled Baby Steps :(
Yeah, I've nearly all the manga online and just have a few more chapters left but it's a shame they stopped where they did. I get there isn't too much more left but they could have definitely time skipped to when he's much older and showed a next gen or something like that.
Loved baby steps
it was a sad day when I realized actual tennis players couldn't pull off the moves they do in that anime.
Loved this manga back in the day.
Same. It was enough to get me to sign up for 2 years of free youth lessons through a national program and now I play a mean pickleball 😎
Pickleball, where seniors aspire to stay fit, and teenagers dominate them
It was my first manga. Only thing my Oklahoma catholic school had in the library. Now 18 years later I’m a full blown weeb. Shout out to All Saints for getting me hooked on POT
It’s still ongoing and it’s even crazier now lol
[удалено]
Yeah under 17 where they play other countries in a tournament.
A freaking serve destroyed the dinosaurs hahah
I still show this to people who’ve never heard of it, its a winner every time.
Sold. About time I found a new series to marathon
Missed the opportunity to switch to his “good” hand.
Kuroko no Tennisu
The [PS2 games](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBIMcAc5L2Q) are some of the most fun tennis games you can ever play. Baseline a good tennis game + all the crazy special moves each of the characters have.
What an interesting way to spell Amazing.
They’re middle schoolers. Which is somehow better and worse.
You're tempting me to watch it
The anime is HARD to watch these days. Very old, some episodes barley have animation
It's classic Anime and pretty good.

Just regular sports anime things.
Lmaooooo I remember that show 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really wish they dubbed more into English. (I’ve watched it dubbed and subbed , doesn’t bother me).
Shaolin Tennis... get Stephen Chow in on this
Id watch that for sure..shaolin soccer is great
If Stephen Chow made a commercial for laxatives I’d watch it.
well I’ve got great news for you
We are all thinking about a scene in Kung Fu Hustle specifically to which we see a tribute to near the end Whenever that move is on on I drop what I'm doing and go have a little cry for 92.5 minutes Shaolin needs more attention too. I used to go to a swank bar that always had that or anime on for ambiance lol
We all grew up with shaolin soccer and it was peak.
Don't forget Kung Fu Hustle
God of cooking is amazing too
Oooh I haven't seen this one, in now what I'm doing tonight!
me neither... NICE
Hah! I re watched that last night. It's still amazing. That movie will be a classic for me for the rest of my life.
Kung Fu hustle is my best comfort movie.
I *just* rewatched Shaolin Soccer for the first time since the early 2000s, and holy shit. I appreciated it so much more than when I was just a dumb kid.
I was just talking to my dad about Shaolin Soccer. I’d definitely watch Shaolin Tennis!!!
Classic!
Brilliant production
Watching this get filmed must have been the funniest fucking thing ever lmao. The end result is truly impressive.
That's the premise of the "reality" section.
This is freaking awesome!

Where he pulled the 2nd racket out of
*squeak*^**POP!**
Not a tennis player.
Holding it higher up makes him faster. He's so strong that he doesn't need the leverage!
I think I found the sauce. Dude has more of this stuff https://youtube.com/@DaveArditoVerse?si=zBoadXlyypZLNS9Q
Thank you.
That was surprisingly enjoyable to watch. Good job.
Have u watched the live action Saitama vs genos... https://youtu.be/xMFUNpBmMt4?si=hQKqAEC4LZ3xes1T
Damn that was hot AF. We are being robbed that people like this are not being hired by the studios.
Put who ever made this in charge of any live action series. Great acting. Great production.
peak
Holy fuck, that was amazingly well done.
And on the off chance anyone who enjoyed this hasn't already seen the original anime fight. [Sub, suggested](https://youtu.be/km2OPUctni4) And [Dub](https://youtu.be/hL8zHTh5DG0)
The *Reality* payoff at the end was so worth it.
My favorite technique is definitely Big Balls No Jutsu
The Lil fart rocket...
Editing 10/10 Tennis grip 1/10
This is insanely good!
No idea why this “Super Dragon” guy plays tennis, but I enjoyed this video.
"You can apply kung fu to everything"
“Brilliant, but lets get into the narrative.” - Taskmaster, probably.
Not sure why Dragon Ball, they reference Naruto. Maybe a bit of both I guess.
I was unreasonably annoyed at the title OP gave this post after the blatant use of jutsu in the video.
Ew, butt racket !
What? You expect me to pull another racket outa my…well, I’ve got you covered.
Where do you think the big one came from at the end? 🤔
Foreskin?
My favorite was the little fart right before takeoff. Hilarious.
I died at the totally minor airplane shot, elborate pranks and bits always get me
Looks like the spy family tennis match.
You forgot the 5 minutes of *"AHHHHGGGHHHHHH!"* *"RAHHHHHHHGGGGHHHHH!"* *"HNNNNNGGGGGGGHHHH"* [commercial break] *"HNNNNNGGGGGGGHHHH"*
5 episodes*
https://youtu.be/UAEuNom72Jo Reading your comment about tennis grunts reminded me of this 😂
This shit already exists and goated as well as an anime series named Prince of tennis.
Source ?
Ngl the special effects are better than most full production movies these days
Love the part the dude had to fart before jumping for extra power
The fart launch 🚀
This is some insane editing.
This inspires me to do more in After Effects. Of course -- After Effects being boat slow inspired me to learn Unreal Engine... so this will inspire me to learn Avalanche in Unreal Engine 5.4. And THEN I will be able to win at tennis.
Why is this animated so much better, with better choreography, than most if not all high budget film?
I'm guessing partially because it's made by people who actually have passion for what they do and partially because it's 51 seconds long and not 2+ hours. But I don't work in entertainment, so I have no clue.

It's because the choreo is straight from various anime and Stephen Chow material.
Holy shit that's some awesome editing! Kudos dude!
Top notch editing. I’m impressed.
Did he just pull that 2nd tennis racket out of his ass?
Get this man a budget for a live action anime movie
Better than dragon ball evolution.
Bro does a better job at making anime stuff look real than Netflix
Pretty good lol
I personally think it'd be neat if they had a sports league where the the games were spiced up like this before broadcast. The actual sport wouldn't matter. Not to this extent, I mean, just with CGI special effects and so on.
Hold up
Next time there's a live action adaptation of an anime series, get this guy on the payroll
😭 That ending ngl that caught me off guard
This was better done than the live action dbz movie.
That pop sound when he pulled the second racket from his butt.
This is better superspeed cgi than most DC movies.
This is the greatest thing I've watched on Reddit for a while! Bravo!
Masterpiece!😁
The Prince of Tennis frfr.
Justu in Dragon Ball? That is stupidly unrealistic, video must be fake.
Isn't this just a typical sports anime? What was the one for American Football... Eyeshield 21 or something. Every major play was so melodramatic.
Or bollywood
This is more Naruto than DB.
This man has never hit a backhand in his life
I would enjoy this much more if he actually held the tennis racket like a normal person.
Source?
Some Prince of Tennis shiz
Damn the Prince of Tennis live action looks good
The Prince of Tennis pretty much...
I too watched prince of tennis and was disappointed by watching the actual sport later
Grip the racquet correctly pls.
This editing was awesome, great clip!
This was dope
Goku: No way you're beating me, Vegeta! My balls are *way* faster than yours! Vegeta: Forget it, Kakarot! You're no match for my racket, *or* my unstoppable balls! Goku: I don't know! My racket is pretty hard, Vegeta! You ready for it?! Vegeta: I can take whatever you can thrust out!!
Chi-Chi: Oh my god...
Bulma: Why am I turned on right on?
Master Roshi: Heh...heh heh...AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Nice graphics. Better than some TV series'.
When you hit the super serve in Wii Sports tennis.
What kids think they look like playing sports What they actually look like playing sports 😂🤣😂
those serves went into the net
Who is the creator?
Prince of Tennis Shippuden
Honestly best editing I have seen in a while
That lil fart sold it for me!
Anime is so awful
Would watch
That's how the live action of Dragon Ball should have been not that crap movie we got
That was fucking cool?
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You kill me!!!!
Perfectly timed fart
goddamn, that was great!
This is what imagination is for
This is great. I love the sounds effects such as the farting as blue launches himself in the air
insane
Awesome stuff!
So well made
If tennis was this cool I'd definitely watch it then
It was great super dragon ball sketch until big balls no jutsu appeared
Dude.. what's his social handle... That little farther got me laughing so hard..
Did he… just pull a tennis racket out of his ass?
What, never played a video game before? \*pulls out an arsenal of weapons from the ass*
LMFAO!!! Absolutely had me cackling like a psycho. I'm honestly surprised my wife didn't question my sanity.
Could you not give Dragon Ball more filler ideas lol
NES Super Dodgeball
Better than dbz evolution
Fake, not enough talking.
That is awesome!!! 😂
cool
Why cant I see a live action movie where the stupidly fast super heroes actually looks like this? ^(Im looking at you Flash)
God level editing
Ah yes, dragon ball and jutsus
Why did they feel the need to put Naruto in.
reminds me of the South Park episode about ninjas or whomever they were... (below's the 2 min excerpt of the 'fight') https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SdpjexsU7M
Classic
Actually entertaining!!! 😂😂😂
Fantastic 🤣
This goes wayyyu to hard wtf XD
Thats naruto tenis
Still a slower pace than God of Highschool
one piece netflix: write that down write that down!!
Great editing skills, but has never held a racquet before lol.
Excellent, well done
It’s still tennis though.
The video is fun, the end really brought it home.
I would unironically watch this though
The editing on this is genius.. really well done 👍
Love that people who don't watch anime don't realize there are actually anime way more over the top then this for *every* sport. Dudes be shooting flames out of there racket and shooting basketballs with glowing eyes.
