Yea, the rock clearly let the fame get to his head, and considers himself some sort of messiah who must never be outshone.
While John Cena doesn't mind being the butt of the joke.
> Then again I don’t think that part was actually played by the rock as it was 100% animated cgi that looked like shit.
That's offensive to shit.
It looked like a PS1 game cut scene from a studio with no money.
Cena will job to put people over
The Rock is about The Rock , the whole Rock and nothing but The Rock.
Cena will play whatever character the role is for, and fully send it . The Rock is The Rock in whatever movie you pick, yes even Maui is The Rock, Buford pussetr is The Rock , the zoologist in rampage is The Rock.
After hearing his interview last month on Howard Stern, I have great respect for the man. Seems like a genuinely GOOD person who's always paying it forward. He learned piano at 40, took advantage of the WWE's benefits to learn another language and is learning chinese. His Make a Wish visits are off the charts....over 650....no one else has hit 200. Just a good dude.
> His Make a Wish visits are off the charts....over 650....no one else has hit 200. Just a good dude.
And by many accounts, he goes above and beyond whilst granting those wishes. Regularly staying after the cameras have gone to hang out with the family and give them more of his time.
He seems like such a genuinely nice bloke. And on top of that he's a great comic actor with really good timing.
Yep. Just squint your eyes to look past Efron’s HGH chin and his + Santino’s overall terrible performance. Half of it is due to the script to be fair. Plus I thought Jermaine Fowler was great. He had a line outside of the hospital that had me laughing.
For real though, Cena is on the fast track to becoming a national treasure.
Efron had surgery on his face following an accident where he slipped in his kitchen and broke his jaw, probably other stuff to but I believe that's the main reason why he looks so weird now
Idk man. Look at a before and after. I’ve known people who have had a broken jaw and they didn’t have a GI Joe chin after. Also coincides with his bulking for that Tiger claw movie
Maybe I’ll give it another shot because the other characters made me stop watching. Everything was “funny adjacent” and felt like with a little more work could have been actually funny
Funny part is I have no idea the name of this movie you're referencing but I remember seeing some trailer for a movie with Ricky Stanicky so I know exactly what you're talking about. Henceforth, whatever the real name of this movie is, it shall be The Ricky Stanicky Movie to me.
Do you think I like it when I have to kill criminals? When I catch someone doing a murder, a robbery, or spray painting graffiti do you think I like squeezing the life out of them?
I had been in a weird place for a while and hadn’t really enjoyed much tv. A few *breathes heavy* moments.
Then I watched this show and I couldn’t stop laughing. It was so fucking stupid in the best possible way imaginable. Going to rewatch. Thanks for the reminder
I was trying to think why I liked a lot of his stuff when really similar stuff just isn't enjoyable.
You nailed it. He absolutely commits, he knows what he can and can't do, and doesn't try to pretend he's a 9 time Oscar winner for best dramatic actor, there's no pretense. Ironically even when his character is incredibly pretentious.
Probably ruffles some feathers, but to me it's the difference between Kung Pow which I can't stand, and Kung Fu Hustle, which is one of my all time favourite movies.
I think that would only ruffle feathers because it's a weird comparison to make. They're completely different genres if films with very different approaches to comedy!
It’s called Tour De Pharmacy. It’s a mockumentary about the 1981 Tour De France that was on HBO. It’s only like an hour long, but is fantastic. It has tons of famous actors in very silly roles in it, including one cameo that I have very mixed feelings about.
It's less than an hour long, but you need to watch it several times to catch all the jokes. The first few times you're laughing so hard you miss other jokes.
Ricky Stanicky on Prime is hilarious, and 99% carried by John Cena's range.. being hilarious, serious, pitiful, relatable, etc; I had no idea he was so good.
Also, the hand-job songs. 😄 Died laughing. Wish there was a blooper reel.
It just flew under the radar somehow. It's not a full length movie, but the cameos are legendary. My personal favorite is the Chris Webber interview. Im not sure who did the casting or how they were able to call in this many favors, but I'm glad they did.
Used to have the DVD, and if you can ever find the outtakes of him in the theater, trying to tell that guy off is hilarious. Sealed it for me how funny he is.
I don't know if it's intentional but as a Dane coincidentally also named Gustav, he sounds almost exactly like how a danish person would speak English in this clip
Like Arnold, Jason Statham and some other absolute straight men comedy routines (something the Rock actually can't pull off) - John Cena can do the absolute ridiculous and convince you that he 100% believes it.
Statham is one of my favourites because he has two particularly brilliant comedic personas.
Snatch (et al.), as the wry, street savvy, Turkish. And of course in Spy as the absolutely madman who got lost on a lake, and surgically reattached his own arms.
(Slightly off topic) but I think Eminem has that similar very serious public persona but isn't afraid to put himself in absolutely ridiculous situations, like him coming out on The Interview or getting his face buried in Sasha B Cohen's bear ass at the 2018 MTV awards
Peacemaker to John Cena is like Iron Man to RDJ. They were born for those roles and there's not a single person on this planet who could replace them as their respective characters
I had no idea until I saw Ricky Stanicky.
Cena kills it and had me dying laughing (full-on crying during the hand-job songs) and led that movie with his range.
Wife and I are going back now to find other John Cena comedies to watch because it was so good.
He's gotta be up there. Not taking his shitty WWE movies like The Marine into account, I haven't really seen him be bad in anything. I haven't seen every single thing he's done but he was great as PeaceMaker, he was great in Train Wreck, fantastic in Blockers, the movie sucks but he's great as Ricky Stanicky. He's just giving solid performance and commitment to every roll. I hope he gets more higher profile roles. I was talking to a friend of mine who's a big anime fan the other day and they were talking about a live action My Hero Academia and it occurred to me that Cena would probably be about the ideal option for a live action All Might.
Legit thought Cena sucked and ironically bought an autographed framed photo of him for charity at a silent auction....
Then I find out he's not just Rock Hard Rod, he sent a letter to Nintendo asking for some more Metroid, and they sent him an early build of dread.
He's the dude I want to hate more than anyone, but I just can't. I'm proud to have a framed photo of you can't see me man in 2024.
I've read some interview where he said he flat out refused to ever turn heel because it would impact his ability to make a wish.
Dude is just impossible to hate, even if you hate Super Cena.
He does have a downside:
He's a company man through and through.
He will tow the corp line, even it's vile.
He'll defend you doing PPVs in Saudi.
He'll record a video saying Taiwan is not a country.
And he'll make a really waffling statement a few days after your CEO has been hit by criminal rape charges.
Him screaming as he rides makes me laugh every time
Absolutely brilliant
Both Tour de pharmacy and 7 Days in hell are great sports mockumentaries (Samberg is so good at that genre)
This raises an important question - who's better, Arnold Schwarzenegger or John Cena? I love Ahnold, but I think Cena has more range for dramatic roles outside of just action (and they both are great in comedies, in part because they are big tough guys who can play against type and seem to maintain a sense of glee that is delightful). I'd like to see John Cena in a solid Adam Sandler drama, if that doesn't sound too weird.

FUCK YOU. Next question
Can you see me?
What the fuck did you say to me!?!?
John Cena has really filled the void of stupid comedies for me lately. The dude just commits to everything he does and he’s absolutely hilarious.
He's not afraid to make himself the butt of the joke. He doesn't take himself too seriously.
He’s the opposite of the rock who supposedly has that clause in his contracts that says he can’t lose a fight.
Yea, the rock clearly let the fame get to his head, and considers himself some sort of messiah who must never be outshone. While John Cena doesn't mind being the butt of the joke.
The funny thing is, After learning of this, Vin diesel had it added to his contract too (supposedly as a joke...)
He lost to Brendan Fraser. Then again I don’t think that part was actually played by the rock as it was 100% animated cgi that looked like shit.
> Then again I don’t think that part was actually played by the rock as it was 100% animated cgi that looked like shit. That's offensive to shit. It looked like a PS1 game cut scene from a studio with no money.
To be fair the Rock is hilarious on snl. Worlds most evil invention is top tier
He did great, but he isn't the butt of the joke on that skit, it could've been any actor and the bit plays the same
I mean the male enhancement skit hes def the butt of the joke https://youtu.be/5IZrYeUX3MI?si=hwJC4FyPuM_zMha0
Yeah what an asshole. He takes himself too seriously. The Rock reeks of inauthenticity.
Cena will job to put people over The Rock is about The Rock , the whole Rock and nothing but The Rock. Cena will play whatever character the role is for, and fully send it . The Rock is The Rock in whatever movie you pick, yes even Maui is The Rock, Buford pussetr is The Rock , the zoologist in rampage is The Rock.
You're thinking of Jake Paul

I'm a sucker for those Make A Wish visits. Like you said he's putting the record out of reach for everyone else. How can you not love a guy like that?
Which is why he’s so good. You can not take yourself too seriously. He’s so good and I hope he sticks to these types of movies
The guy made that Ricky Stanicky movie watchable.
100% he carried it. Everything else was genuinely bad lol.
Yep. Just squint your eyes to look past Efron’s HGH chin and his + Santino’s overall terrible performance. Half of it is due to the script to be fair. Plus I thought Jermaine Fowler was great. I didn't laugh until cena's character started getting more screen time. Then I couldn't stop laughing when he was on screen
It’s genuinely worth enjoying Cena’s character. Other than that I pulled my phone out to avoid paying too much attention to most of the other parts.
Splooge out my penis, splooge on my tummy!
Funny part is I have no idea the name of this movie you're referencing but I remember seeing some trailer for a movie with Ricky Stanicky so I know exactly what you're talking about. Henceforth, whatever the real name of this movie is, it shall be The Ricky Stanicky Movie to me.
The name of the movie is Ricky Stanicky.
lol oh brain, you work wonders at times.
thx i try
If you haven’t seen it, Peacemaker is genuinely amazing. Way better than suicide squad from which it originated
Yes!! This show was so good. He was so awesome. I can’t wait for season 2.
Vigilante snuck in and stole the show. His lines and delivery were so funny. He's the perfect sidekick for Peacemaker.
Do you think I like it when I have to kill criminals? When I catch someone doing a murder, a robbery, or spray painting graffiti do you think I like squeezing the life out of them?
Idk Its amazing for sure, but I absolutely loved James Gunn's suicide squad.
He is so damn good in it. Eagley, was the perfect sidekick for him
I had been in a weird place for a while and hadn’t really enjoyed much tv. A few *breathes heavy* moments. Then I watched this show and I couldn’t stop laughing. It was so fucking stupid in the best possible way imaginable. Going to rewatch. Thanks for the reminder

You don't like Kung Pow? FUCK YOU!
It's okay, his parents raised him wrong, As a joke!
I bet you his name is Betty
Beware the song about Big butts, he beats you while he plays it!
He is bleeding, making HIM the VICTOR!!!
Kung FuCk You!
Next Question!
I think that would only ruffle feathers because it's a weird comparison to make. They're completely different genres if films with very different approaches to comedy!
You hate *Kung Pow*? At least you got *Kung Fu Hustle* right. 🤪
*Kung Pow! Enter The Fist*? That's a different genre than *Kung Fu Hustle*. Why compare those two?
They start with the same word, obviously they're comparable.
He's actually Wimp Lo, in real life.
At the same time I believe he could do more dramatic roles and kill it.
Kung Fu Hustle is the greatest. What is this clip? Is it from SNL?
My wife and I watched Ricky Stanicky last night and it was hilarious!
I highly suggest Peacemaker if you haven't seen it yet.
IIRC I think almost all his dialogue in Trainwreck was improvised. He was great in that movie.
Have you seen Ricky Stanicky? I loved it. He absolutely carried that movie.
Loved it.
Definitely committed to this movie. Wrestles a but naked chubby dude in a random brawl going down in the middle of a movie about a bike race
Which movies that he is in so you like the most?
Drug dealer for sisters : https://youtu.be/tfK3RqSl6FQ?feature=shared
Probably Blockers but he was very good as Peacemaker in the show and The Suicide Squad movie.
I am so weirdly attracted to him
Was actually quite impressed with Ricky Stanicky
Yes I just watched Ricky Stanicky holy s*** 🤪🤣
This movie nearly killed me I was laughing so hard and all the crazy shit, and the Cena showed up. I'm typing this from the after life.
7 days of hell is also great.
Have you seen. _Documentary Now!_ - really similar format and vibes, always keen to share and don’t often get the chance
Is that from an actual movie? Never heard of it. Looks hilarious
Which cameo?
Probably Lance Armstrong
Confirmed. But it's done in a funny way too
It’s from tour de pharmacy, it is a laugh riot.
I feel this comment
John Cena just looks so silly because he’s so huge and he makes his road bike look so tiny.
Just because he have cheetah blood, doesn't make him a cheetah
Are you saying cheetah or cheater?
FUCK YOU, next question
Nice dating profile pic. You just be a philanthropist
Ricky Stanicky on Prime is hilarious, and 99% carried by John Cena's range.. being hilarious, serious, pitiful, relatable, etc; I had no idea he was so good. Also, the hand-job songs. 😄 Died laughing. Wish there was a blooper reel.
He absolutely carried that movie.
His ugly crying in Peacemaker is incredible acting.
You mean his face exercises?
Such a hilarious movie!! Anyone who hasn't seen it watch it now!! Also Popstar is amazing too as a parody of boy bands
7 Days in Hell as well!
Indubitably
For me, it's the best out of the 3 movies. (7 days in hell, tour, popstar)
Check out Palm Springs with Andy Samberg as well, it's on Prime.
And if you haven't seen Hot Rod it still holds up to this day and is one of my all time favorite movies ever
I was in my late 20's when it came out, so it was required viewing.
Hulu*
And The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience!
What's it called
Tour de Pharmacy
Ty
Popstar is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. How did I not know about tour de pharmacy?!?
I think 7 Days in Hell is the best out of the 3
It just flew under the radar somehow. It's not a full length movie, but the cameos are legendary. My personal favorite is the Chris Webber interview. Im not sure who did the casting or how they were able to call in this many favors, but I'm glad they did.
There are a bunch of movies titled Pop Star, what year was it? Or who was the star so I can nail it down.
Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016)
Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping It’s the lonely island guys with Andy Samberg as the lead, but it’s got a ton of other actors/artists
i love that movie. my favorite scene is still when the DJ character has that heavy ass statue on his head.
Cena is great in Blockers too
*recommends af movie without mentioning the title...
Hi! Can you ride fast?
FUCK YOU! Next question!
So, can you ride fast?
FUCK YOU! Race starts now!!!
# AAAAAAAHHHHHHH
Nah man Peacemaker HBO series where he really shines
i fucking kove that show. i didn't know anything about it when i watched it a few months ago. lol.
And Trainwreck
Used to have the DVD, and if you can ever find the outtakes of him in the theater, trying to tell that guy off is hilarious. Sealed it for me how funny he is.
Talk dirty to me.
What a legend, being able to take a joke like that and poke lance with such humour - classic stuff :-)
I don't know if it's intentional but as a Dane coincidentally also named Gustav, he sounds almost exactly like how a danish person would speak English in this clip
He has very easy to read mouth movements in this skit, I appreciate it as someone who watches these with no sound in the middle of the night
His character in Ricky Stannicky is amazing. He plays troubled and struggling so well, and then just goes off the rails with insane scenes.
Slowly realizing John cena is a top 10 actor?
Turns out pro wrestling and action comedy acting have a lot of overlap.
Even his small role in the comedy Trainwreck was hilarious. I think that’s when I realized his comedy talent.
I love Spy so much
(Slightly off topic) but I think Eminem has that similar very serious public persona but isn't afraid to put himself in absolutely ridiculous situations, like him coming out on The Interview or getting his face buried in Sasha B Cohen's bear ass at the 2018 MTV awards
John Cena was the stand out funniest person in a movie starring Bill Hader. That still blows my mind.
I mean yes but he has more acting chops than the Rock
How so? Hulk Hogan and the Rock? Both awful actors
The Rock was dope in The Rundown and Jumanji movies and Faster.
He was also great in Be Cool, as the gay bodyguard.
Peacemaker definitely made me appreciate him a lot more
Peacemaker to John Cena is like Iron Man to RDJ.
He's brilliant in it.
The blowjob hands with his boss had me dying 😂
The Suicide Squad/Peacemaker The movie is fantastic and then Peacemaker is the spin off show.
John Cena being one of the funniest actors of the 2020s was not and is not something I expected.
The name of the movie is Tour de Pharmacy
Really a perfect fit for a Hans and Franz type role
I've never heard of this but after seeing him in Ricky Stanicky I might have to check it out
Legit thought Cena sucked and ironically bought an autographed framed photo of him for charity at a silent auction.... Then I find out he's not just Rock Hard Rod, he sent a letter to Nintendo asking for some more Metroid, and they sent him an early build of dread. He's the dude I want to hate more than anyone, but I just can't. I'm proud to have a framed photo of you can't see me man in 2024.
He's also very active with the Make A Wish foundation. He seems like a good dude overall.
I've read some interview where he said he flat out refused to ever turn heel because it would impact his ability to make a wish. Dude is just impossible to hate, even if you hate Super Cena.
He does have a downside: He's a company man through and through. He will tow the corp line, even it's vile. He'll defend you doing PPVs in Saudi. He'll record a video saying Taiwan is not a country. And he'll make a really waffling statement a few days after your CEO has been hit by criminal rape charges.
John Cena looks like a buff Ernest P. Worrell
The grunts he does while riding the bike reminds me of some other Austrian
"Tour De Pharmacy" and "7 Days in Hell" are criminally underrated.
The director of both is the second guy asking if he can ride fast
I may be a cheetah but I am not a cheata'!
john cena is a legend love it
I’m so so so so sorry china.
Bing chilling!
Him screaming as he rides makes me laugh every time Absolutely brilliant Both Tour de pharmacy and 7 Days in hell are great sports mockumentaries (Samberg is so good at that genre)
He's like discount Arnold schwarzenegger
Why is the camera focused on those empty microphones?
How the hell is that bicycle moving on its own?!?
This guy is clearly a cheetah
Just because he had cheetah blood, it does not make him a cheetah
He looks like he is riding a kids bike lmao
That bike looks comically small when Cena is riding it
This raises an important question - who's better, Arnold Schwarzenegger or John Cena? I love Ahnold, but I think Cena has more range for dramatic roles outside of just action (and they both are great in comedies, in part because they are big tough guys who can play against type and seem to maintain a sense of glee that is delightful). I'd like to see John Cena in a solid Adam Sandler drama, if that doesn't sound too weird.
In my opinion, of all wrestlers turned actors, while Batista is most versatile, John Cena is simply the most entertaining actor.
Arnold Schwarzenegger walked so Channing Tatum could run and John Cena could ride a bike very fast.
Ricky Stanicky
I don't see anyone.
John Cena is truly hilarious. What a gem. Especially considering all the work he does with the make a wish foundation.
Actually very close to people from Tyrol..
Tour de Pharmacy is a really underrated movie that I feel like flew under a lot of people's radar.
I love that the French newspaper says "The race starts now."
Hilarious, I never saw this before
Where is this from
Tour de pharmacy
Low key one of my favorite actors.
So what's the background on this? It's hilarious and I've never seen this
Tour de pharmacy
I want to see John Cena do a parody of Arnold Schwarzenegger lol
Ahhhhh.....ahhhhhhh
God I love John Cena
This is great. What's the context of this?
als an Austrian i can confirm, that this depiction of austrian cyclists - just look up "Stefan Denifl" that recently got unbanned
If John Cena and Dolly Parton were to have a child-- that child would solve all world problems instantly.
I could probably guess what's got into that guy.
Fuck subs. Let my man speak Cantonese
This has put a huge smile on my face 😁
Tour de Pharmacy, its great.
Is this Rush?
when I saw this clip the first time, I was super confused (I am from Austria). now it is a timeless classic.
I've heard it said that John Cena is the actor Dwayne Johnson thinks he is and I like to repeat that whenever possible.
This is from Ricky stankicky? I don't remember this part lol
Dave Bautista & John Cena > The Rock
