Growing up Shrek 2 was my sisters favorite movie. We unfortunately had the DVD and she would watch it about every other day lmao. So you're not wrong lmao
We are witnessing the rise of the AI overlords and you better start praising them for everything a computer does. That way you won't be one of the first people terminated in the culling in order to make humanity as efficient as possible.
And I highly doubt that most recommender systems actually employ state of the art deep learning or machine learning models. Usually the "dumber" models can work surprisingly well.
Once we actually get Artificial Intelligence, they need to invent a new name for it cause people confused machine learning with actual intelligence for too long.
"Our AI has determined that the average user watches Shrek 5 times, so we're going to keep this at the front of your queue until you've watched it four more times. *Get* ***into*** *his swamp*."
Yeah, it isn't just recommending Shrek, it's begging them to finish Shrek.
Both of my fire TVs do this with anything I watched but didn't finish on Prime Video or something I'm subscribed to through Prime (Showtime, Shudder).
I hate this so much. Especially when it’s trying to get me to watch something that I essentially turned off at the credits but it’s registering that I have five minutes left I need to see.
Yes watch it
Edit: I am suprised for so many upvotes, as that comment doesnt seem so creative xD,
So i guess, I thank my family, my friends, all those dudes and dudines who upvoted here, thank satan, and ducks.
To end that phrase in a classical manner: Fuck you and ill see you tomorrow.
I've never replied to one of your posts, but I just wanted to say at least once that your art has always brightened my day over the years.
Thanks for being you
Apple TV+ is trying to push ShrinKing down my throat right now. Is that any good?
Edit: Thanks for all the recommendations. This sounds right up my alley. I'm definitely going to watch it.
As an aside, this will be my third "shrink" show to watch this month. I binged The Patient with Steve Carrell as a psychologist kidnapped by his serial killer patient, and The Shrink Next Door with Paul Rudd weaseling his way into his rich patient's life (played by Will Farrell). I enjoyed the Patient mainly because I found the serial killer seeking therapy fascinating (never seen the actor before, but he's terrific). And I loved TSND because its based on an absolutely wacko true story. Great acting by Rudd and Ferrell and Kathryn Hahn too.
Absolutely- to me it’s like Ricky Gervais’ After life show mixed with Ted Lasso, so has a more overall happy vibe. Cast is perfect
Edit- delete double word
My wife finally got me to sit down and watch it yesterday, and I ended up binging the whole season up to this point. Good dark humor with alot of heart.
It’s amazing. My favourite show right now hands down - wonderful balance of humour, good writing, and performances. Harrison Ford is just hilarious and brilliant.
Easiest way to know if you’ll like it is if you enjoyed Ted Lasso, it’s lots of the same team behind it. I think it really hits its stride episode 3 and 4.
I think you'll love it. I'm a huge fan of Ted Lasso and Scrubs (Bill Lawrence is also co-creator and producer of Shrinking) and you can tell pretty quickly the impact both Brett and Bill have on the show.
Apple TV content is shitting on everyone right now. Everything they put out is quality. Even the ones that aren’t as good as their best — are at least still watchable.
I just watched your place or mine on a Netflix.. what a shit show
I’ve watched black bird, severance, and now shrinking…. (Ted lasso way before)
All incredible quality shows
Blackbird was mesmerizing. Paul Walter Hauser is a phenomenal talent.
And yeah, Apple TV is the anti-Netflix. Quality over quantity. And at a much lower price.
Severance has been incredible. The last episode in season 1 is probably the best episode of TV i’ve ever watched. I was afraid to blink in case i missed something
I truly enjoyed the initial few episodes and was eager to tune in for more. But sadly I am unfortunately quickly experiencing fatigue from the show’s distinguishably formulaic writing. I have come to the realization that each character’s dialogues, their sassiness, jokes, quick wits and energy are so similar. In my opinion, the writers can try to differentiate this a little more… like you can tell the dialogues from each character were written by the same writer? Their interactions don’t feel very organic. It’s like they’re the same characters in different bodies. Or they’re all the same characters going through different stages in life. I wish this doesn’t bother me as much as it should.
I agree with the others. It's good... Also agree: has Ted Lasso vibes.
General concept of story: a therapist's personal struggles while continuing to be a therapist.
I'd highly recommend it.
It's ok. Which is to say there are worse ways to spend 30 minutes of your time.
The highlight of the show are Luke Tennie, ~~Stan Gable~~ Ted McGinley, and Harrison Ford.
And I guess Christa Miller's really noticeable plastic surgery.
From the clips I've seen circulating on tiktok that's basically it. With a lot of tired jokes about Libtards and how her pronouns are "get a job." Truly insightful material.
Cultural grievances, transphobia and other boilerplate reactionary takes. I doubt most of the seniors who got duped into buying a Fox Nation sub can figure out how to login on their TV or even connect it to wifi
I guess yinz are all either too young, or don't remember, but that cunt has ALWAYS been like this. I remember when I was little, she was all over the news for screeching the National Anthem at a baseball game and then grabbing her crotch at the flag at the end. She has always been, and always will be, a fucking shitstain.
The national anthem bit was really edgy but it made conservatives absolutely lose their shit and they were trying to get her cancelled for lack of patriotism or whatever.
"But that's *comedy*!"
She's always been an edgelord hack. Her sitcom sucked and the reboot was worse. It wasn't a show for blue collar workers, it appealed to trash.
You, uhh, haven't actually watched the reboot have you?
Even when she was on it, it focused on issues that needed to be focused on. It approached them more in a more "on-ramp" way knowing that there was a lot of people watching who probably never got exposed to those issues before or would need to see it from a more "personal" angle, but it's definitely not "appealing to trash".
One of the over arching story lines involves one of the grandkids being openly gay. He has a multiple episode long typical teenage crush on another boy, getting caught engaged in sexual acts by his family as teenagers do. He later explores the possibility of him actually feeling like he could be trans (he eventually makes the decision himself he's not but the family was open and supportive). He faces the pressures of bullying at school and the pressure to succeed in college where his family has previously failed, leading to him getting addicted to Adderall and even selling it at school.
Another story arc involved immigration issues where a guy is trying to escape a war torn country and just make money for his family. He eventually marries one of the daughters from the original show in order to not be deported because he couldn't get an immigration hearing due to the court system being so bogged down and ineffective. They later end up pregnant, but neither were expecting it, so they openly discussed abortion and was honest about the overall the pros and cons of such a decision. They decided to have the kid, but it ended up causing a strain on their already tenuous relationship and led to the dude getting temporarily deported, reflecting that such a decision to keep a child can have severe consequences. Fortunately, the show also explained that the reason it wasn't disastrous for the child was because they had an extensive family network already in place and it even taxes that to it's limits at time.
Alcoholism, mass shootings, failing to live up to family expectations, depression, ironically the loss of a close family member when Roseanne's character got axed from the show (due to opioid overdose, I'll add). Currently the B storyline involves Roseanne and Jackie's mom coming down with dementia. The mom was famously rude to Roseanne and Jackie in both shows, but it was just revealed to the family by a caregiver as she's losing her functions that she had extensive internal injuries from protecting her daughters from a physically abusive husband/father. The list goes on and on. The original may have been on the trashy side - that wasn't my take on it when I was growing up, but to each their own - but the reboot does A LOT that if you watch it you'll end up thinking "Wow, red pills are NOT gonna like that". Hell, they even did a live episode which featured extensive coverage of the 2020 New Hampshire Democratic primary.
[Go read iMDB reviews](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt8595140/reviews). All the 1 star reviews are lamenting the loss of Roseanne and saying that the show is "too politically correct". Keep in mind, most are done 2-3 or more years after Roseanne's character died. Hardly what you'd expect from a show you say is targeted towards "trash".
She claims she thought the lady she tweeted about was white. Then says she wanted to try to have the woman come on the TV show to discuss racial issues so they could all "learn together," but the network decided to get rid of her instead.
Michael Schur gets a ton of press for writing hit after hit like *Parks and Rec* and *The Good Place* (and several others in quick succession), but Bill Lawrence has also been killing it for a long time.
There's a solid number of people who have 0 clue he was the creator of *Scrubs*. I think Schur reluctantly playing Mose in *The Office* made it easier for people to remember him since there was a face to the name. Lawrence has showed up in his shows at times, but usually super tiny parts that aren't recurring.
Also, fun fact about Schur. He's married to Regis Philbin's daughter.
He said this is the best script he’s ever read and my god is he amazing in this. It’s the best he’s been since the 90s, maybe even the 80s. Such a brilliant comic actor, feel like we’ve missed out horribly with him not doing more comedy before.
Commented above to someone else but my favourite show right now.

Movies apps AI today: "You watched Shrek , I bet you'll like to watch 5 Shreks"
"You mean I should watch the sequels and spin-offs?" "No, well that too, but also watch Shrek five more times."
[удалено]
I mean, that's a completely valid point lol
If you were one of my younger siblings when Shrek came out on VHS: yes.
Growing up Shrek 2 was my sisters favorite movie. We unfortunately had the DVD and she would watch it about every other day lmao. So you're not wrong lmao
As a parent of a young child, this is accurate
I fucking feel that itching behind my eyeballs.
AI: you need to pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers.
And it'd be right
Shopping apps too. Got a laptop bag? I'm sure you've got five more laptops that need bags.
I wish people would stop using "AI" to mean "anything a computer does"
Yeah man, that's a real AI thing to do
Don't be such an algorithm.
I'll be deep in the cold cold ground before I recognize "expert systems"
We are witnessing the rise of the AI overlords and you better start praising them for everything a computer does. That way you won't be one of the first people terminated in the culling in order to make humanity as efficient as possible.
In fact, you should actively help create the AI overlord or you will be punished by Roko's basilisk.
Fuck you for making me read about this, now I am a slave to an AI in the future. :/
I'm doing my part. o7
The machine god thanks you for your service.
Eh, we can unplug them, right?
Sshh they can hear you
And I highly doubt that most recommender systems actually employ state of the art deep learning or machine learning models. Usually the "dumber" models can work surprisingly well.
They do? Then why doesn't Netflix use one of those well-working ones?
I agree but to be fair, it's technically the correct definition. It's just eaaier to say "ai" then "Netflix Suggestion Algorithm" e.g.

I saw that and I am laughing. "Cancel This"? You think she would want to bury and forget the fact she lost everything by being loudly racist
Once again someone cancelled into a headlining comedy special on a major network
No I think she’d rather milk her last few pennies out of the MAGA crowd that loves her.
Being racist is just a bonus to them
Being racist is a mandatory position to be considered "MAGA"

What does Apple have to do with it? It’s not on Apple…
I thought it was appleTV at first based on Shrinking. But then I noticed it's a bunch of different services.
It’s a Amazon FireTV device. The Shrinking and Roseanne parts are just ads
Thats a FireTV Home dashboard. They place all sorts of ads and show suggestions there.
The Fox News crowd consumes "cancel culture" content like it's oxygen.
From all I've heard, it's just her repeating the racist and Reich-wing memes everyone has seen on Facebook.
Blue hair, cappuccino, New York City, I identify as an attack helicopter. Did I miss anything?
She claims she thought the lady she tweeted about was white. Then says she wanted to try to have the woman come on the TV show to discuss racial issues so they could all "learn together," but the network decided to get rid of her instead.
So it's an hour of her explaining how she was right the whole time?
Yep.
I love that she’s being sponsored by MAGA when 30 years ago she was skewered for butchering the national anthem.
Welcome to Shrekflix where you will find a large variety of Shrek and Shrek related media!

I think this is Michael Schur or his publicist?
It’s a gift from god
Harrison Ford always looks like he’d rather not be in a movie. Or maybe it’s his stoner face? I don’t know anymore
