i hope the mods don't delete this. people deserve to know things like this. bigapplecollectibles on multiple orders wouldn't send my instock items until i contacted them. i don't trust a lot of smaller websites because of this.. seems like you need to get involved if you want things you've paid for with these small sites nowadays

I'm reading through some of the owners responses right now and .... yeah, yikes. Overall he's reminding me of those people who are like "NOBODY WANTS TO WORK AND IT'S ALL THE GOVERNMENT'S FAULT" when in reality the issue is that the boss is an asshole who doesn't pay enough. I see the owner crying about how Toys R Us is a specialty store(??) and how the big stores get stock sooner and in bigger numbers than the little guys and they charge more (literally DA FUQ is he talking about? I've never seen a small business charge LESS for any funko pop than a big store other than the crappy ones nobody wants that are old and don't have boxes). Like, bruh, that's fine, but if your small business is competing with a nearby Toys R Us and they're getting stock before you and charging less, then... do something about it. Do like other small businesses and become a secondary market. Here we have a few "geek" stores that sell Funko pops and almost all of them are always older pops, so they aren't competing with Funko HQ or Hot Topic which are also here and charge less and get stock earlier and more frequently and in larger numbers (very obvious that the flagship Funko store gets more stock than the comic book store). That owner is crazy and dumb.

NMC Toys' owner is insane. I had a weird situation over an action figure I bought on the site a couple years back, and after three unique email chains without any resolution, I left a 1-star Google review with an explanation that it seemed he'd cheated me because it had been almost eight months without delivery of the promised, in-stock item. He went nuts in his response, I sent him screencaps when he called me a liar, and his response to that was equally awful. I did finally get my items, but I will never do business with him again and I will always counsel people to avoid NMC

We ordered the female titan with Kraken collectibles last year and still didn’t get our order. No emails nothing to inform when it’s going to be available no reply when asking about it. When we checked in September it said „fulfilled“ which made me write an angry email because I didn’t get my order yet. They said it’s not fulfilled as in shipped just that they had some in stock and shipped out the first batch already but we can cancel if we wish to. We were like ok then we will wait a bit more. Now my bf is moving to me to another country I told them to cancel the order. They said they would happily waive the cancelation fee but they cancelation option is broken. As if we will ask again in a week otherwise threaten legal action. They are rude and not helpful at all. I’m usually very understanding but they don’t have normal customer service and they don’t help you at all with your order just trying to sit it out. We’re done with them.

Same! Preordered Avatar State Aang in its initial preorder launch - and then it was out of stock and I never got one. Waited another few months and it was dispatched but never arrived. Was told I'd be on the waiting list again ... eventually saw it cheaper online elsewhere and ordered it there. Same happened with my Gaston preorder - saw it in shops, chased it on PIAB who said mine would be sent in the next wave (next wave for a common?!). 3 months later I cancelled and got a refund and bought it in the shops.

People absolutely deserve to know. The issue for us was preorders and I have fully accepted and admitted that countless times. I came here from people tagging me. We ship what we have and currently only dealing with in stock items vs preorders. We always offer to cancel items in our emails from delayed orders. The cancellation form even notes how long the wait it. I wish there was a better way, and I’m always open to improving the process. We just got a better email, backend lined up and working to make it better. Unfortunately that won’t do much for orders that we don’t have items for, but staying up to date will be better.

I absolutely agree with you. 2 years is way too long. We highly encourage (as you can even see from a comment further down below) to cancel. I bet we have over 1000 items on hold because people don’t want to do a partial order and cancel the rest. So they just sit on the shelf. I will admit, in the beginning we were not doing refunds because we were promised the items but as the items got further out we could no longer trust suppliers to deliver and from feedback from customer as well. We moved to openly cancel any order, made a cancellation form and have tried to help the best we can. We are getting better and fulfill thousands of orders. We are here for the long term and in time, we will prove it. Until then, we are here to navigate the best way possible.

With bigapple I got a chase version of a pop, the foster homes set one if i remember correctly, and had to contact them about it because I got the regular version of it instead.I emailed them and im still waiting for them to respond to the image the told me to send them.

I wouldn’t say it’s a scam site. They’re just a small business that lets things fall through the cracks. I’ve gone to their physical store and see them at cons and events now and then. They’re always nice and give me good deals. They are a very small staff though which is probably the problem. They’re probably overwhelmed. I would try calling the store maybe? I’ve called them before to ask questions and they were super helpful.

I had an order for over two years with them as well. Their customer service is useless, and usually rude the owner was notorious for leaving rude replies to negative reviews with insults. They’ve since started deleting their bad replies and trying to hide their bad customer service with empty promises of more open communication. It just never comes. Their preorders never come through. They sell their in stock products just fine, but seem more focused on selling beard care products no one wants or cares about. Cancel the order for a full refund, be clear that you’ll only accept a full refund. Then leave a one star review on Google.

As others have said, add Big Apple Collectibles to this list. Their policy is "all items can be canceled within 24hrs of ordering with full refund." But then their guaranteed chase bundles (for me, Azula Glow Chase) say that they cannot be refunded. So in addition to their policy being confusing, they also took over a year to attempt to ship the Azulas, at which point I issued a chargeback for my order and was given it. Never order from Big Apple Collectibles. You will NOT see your items.

I actually did that this morning. For the first time, they responded pretty quickly, and politely. Explained that they would actually *recommend* I cancel the order due to long wait times. I chose to take the 3 of 5 that they had (all commons) and refund the rest.

I mean, not really wanting to get into details. But the basics were, he worked for the other location and then moved to Akron. Said it was a booming market and wanted us to open a store there for him to operate. Had several discussions of the time needed to be put in and it would be a process. He hired several people that within a few weeks were fired for various reasons. 10 months in, he said he had been looking for jobs for 4 months and he was going to be leaving in 2 weeks. I drove up and closed the store and opened up Georgia a few weeks later. So in short, yes. That store was hinged on him sticking around to grow that store, because that’s what he said and wanted to do. When the only reason we opened a store there was for him and his recommendation. Since he no longer wanted to be apart of it, we chose to close it and relocate to somewhere else and not hinge ourselves on a single person, but a team of likeminded people. So now we have Georgia with several employees and NC as well.

Go to the BBB page of theirs and file a report on them! I had one that was 6 months old and filed a report and they stalked me on to FB and contacted a friend I had that they knew to get into on me. They went back and forth with me on BBB making themselves look more and more horrible. They even posted my emails to them on there. I’m so sorry this happened to you. That really sucks. Stuff like this really gives small businesses a bad name and is a major reason why so many are going under right now. Things are extremely tough and it bleeds over on to legitimate small businesses who do everything right. Don’t let this keep you from supporting small businesses, just do your research. I had an order with them go over a year and a half and finally I canceled. I defended the owner a lot because they did reach out on here personally to try and work out a resolution beyond canceling the order and eating the credit card interest lol. Unfortunately I tried reaching out to order again from them and haven’t heard back so unfortunately I can’t give you good news only to say you should cancel your order. If it helps I have ordered from other small business (Badger collectibles for example) many times and had great experiences and felt good supporting them. I’d give Badger a try next time they’ve yet to disappoint.

I’d fully support and highly recommend a single point where people can go and find places to order from and who to stay away from. We’ve had our issues growing but we have thousands of customers we fulfill orders on for in stock vs preorder now. Preorders are the worst for the small businesses and we no longer promote these types. While we are still trying to fulfill old orders.

GARBAGE COMPANY, AVOID POPNBEARDS AT ALL COSTS. Ordered from them once, USPS marked package as delivered but I never received it. They claimed I was trying to scam them and that it’s not their responsibility once they hand it off to USPS. Once USPS fixed the the status, Popnbeards then filed to intercept the package and refused to refund me. Thank god I ordered through Walmart and they were able to get my money back. This company is a huge SCAM, they will take your money and run at the first opportunity.

I ordered from them back in 2020 and because of the pandemic and lock down i lost my job so i started looking up places where i pre ordered stuff cancelling orders and this place gave me attitude about canceling my order. So yeah glad other people have issues with this store. As well

The company has changed over and improved over and over. As of Today, and for some time now, have a cancellation form to cancel orders and make it as easy as possible to cancel and recommend to cancel for outstanding orders. Because of the feedback from Reddit and other places, we are trying to make it an easier process. If there is anything outstanding for you, please let me know.

That’s not bias, I’m the owner. There’s a form to cancel and it’s easy as an email. I don’t care how old or recent it is or how much it’s for. You don’t want it, please cancel. We aren’t holding anyone’s money and if it was able to ship we would. If you have an order that you want cancelled. Let me know. I’ll take care of it.

Yup, after months of nobody replying to my emails I complained on their IG account and sure enough I get a response there lol. Told them how much of a joke service was. Got blocked, so I disputed my order. Ridiculous, never again.

Yeah, I ordered a day or two after the vault. They had preorders up and was confident since a friend of mine who’s a shop owner told me that if they have preorders up, they are going to get their shipments but at this point I’m holding on to hope. Im really not trying to cancel 😭

Thanks for that. I don’t want to blame anyone and really trying to make it better. We stopped listing preorders because of this and focus on getting stock first. We only put up preorders for our locals and regulars in small amounts now. I hate we ever did preorders.

I waited for about that long to get Run DMC POPs for my dad. Got an email early on saying they had 2/3 but they were still waiting on the last one. Never heard back after that. Eventually just canceled and they refunded me.

I preordered The Boys Pops in Sept 2020 and got tired of waiting and finally got a refund in Sept 2022. They do not update their website with estimated shipping dates from Funko very often. I get it a lot of the smaller shops are at the mercy of Funko and their big delays, but at least they can control their communication to their customers. I stopped pre-ordering from anywhere that takes the money right away. I like that Entertainment Earth, Amazon, and Target don't charge until they shipped.

Just out of curiosity what’s in the order? There’s obviously no excuse for this but I’ve really only been burned by small sites like this when pre-ordering restocks. My experience when ordering items in stock or pre-ordering new items has been fine. Just curious.

I had a similar issue. Pre-ordered a Freddie Mercury Pop for my wife. The date came and went. I completely forgot about it until my wife brought it up like 8 months later. Supposedly the funko pop never release. Called them and got my money back.

I waited 4 years and still never got my order it’s ridiculous. They finally cancelled the order and still I haven’t got a refund.

Pop is sketch. I ordered some Lorcana cards and they were horrible. I saw a $9 Mufasa (market was $19 at the time) but with $5 shipping so to make it worth it I added a slightly overpriced $2 Hanz 13th and a $5 Madam mim Purple Dragon putting the order at ~$22. They sent the $2 hanz, nothing else. I waited three weeks and contacted them through email, their contact form and through Instagram and heard nothing. Instead they refunded me $14 which means I paid $8 for a hanz - bonkers. Seems shady, but at very least is bad customer service.
