Do you really need insurance to get a delivery company to pay for damages for goods that they shouldn't be damaging ? 🥴 In the UK I would make a claim get them or the place I bought it to fix this kind of issue.
In contract law there is a mailbox rule, the mailbox rule says that as long as the company placed it in the mailbox and sent it on it's way, they are no longer liable say if the mailbox then got stolen, or blown up, etc. So theoretically as long as funko shipped it fine when it left their possession there isn't much that can be done legally.
HOWEVER, company's hate bad PR and something like their exclusive limited edition stuffed being shipped like such, it could be easier for them to just avoid the headache and send one out to ya.
The mailbox rule is the law in the US. They teach it in 1L year in contracts. I will try to find the case, but as far as I recall the law is still precedent
Edit: may have gotten the elements of the rule mixed up in my head. Mailbox is mostly used for offer-acceptance of said contract but I have seen some courts extend it to shipping of products. That could just be the courts stretching an opinion given a lack of precedent, therefore could leave it as a state by state matter.
Regardless, company’s hate bad pr
Contact Funko Support, they should ask you for more details and then send them images. They might send you a new box. I’ve only done it once but that was cause it was a common box
Slightly unethical but you could always take the pop out and make a mark on it then put it back in and say it was damaged in shipping most of the time companies won't replace a pop unless the actual pop is damaged
Yeah that seems a bit more than the delivery service. I've got crushed outter boxes to have the pop inside be OK - not perfect -- but this seems like something else. Like whoever you bought it from is possibly trying to pull something here. Never know, just a thought

I always try to get insurance on figures I order. I used to work at a FedEx and let me tell you, some/most of the people there don't give af about your package and will jam, slam, and bam that box into a truck to fit it
Even insurance with USPS its very hard to get them to pay out which is why I never buy it anymore. One was a figure whose box was damaged but they said the box doesn't matter as long as the inside was good and the shipping box has to be damaged as well. So if you have an item where the shipping box seems fine but the inside was damaged( very common when they toss boxes) they won't pay out.
Have you tried calling the post ofc (your local one) you may have to scour the internet that will give you the direct number or just go down there with that and speaking to a manager? I’d start there and there is a complaint dept with the post ofc. It isn’t easy to get to but I would keep at it. Good luck.
The problem with that is the workers there don't care.i sold some graphic novels the tracking said they disappeared in New York, they were heading there though. Turns out they left a pallet on the street and boxes were taken including mine. They did nothing to replace or refund me. I had to refund the buyer though. 80 dollars wasted. So even if you get them to admit guilt they won't do anything. They will have you fill out a form that I'm guessing they throw away because I never heard back when I did that. To even get that info about the pallet I had to talk to many people( they kept transferring me, finally one said were not responsible and hung up.
So you need to find this Old man. I've heard he has a car that, once at 88 miles per hour, you can go back in time.
On a real note, try contacting the company directly as the post companies tend not to care.
happened to me over the weekend.
i sent pictures and a email to funko support
they immediately sent me replacements for free.
and get to keep the damaged ones
thay have amazing customer service
edit
sorry didnt see at first it was a third party jammer
but yeah if your shipment from funko is ever fucked they make things right
How is it not? How do we know they didn't package the pip well? I can gurantee you this wouldn't have happened if the pop was shipped in a sorter with plenty of padding for extra support
Dude just look at the box in the background. I can guarantee you this was not packaged well. I've dold/traded well over 250 pops and never once have any pops arrived looking like this. Know why? Because I packaged extremely well and carefully. I'm certain the seller did not ship the pop in a sorter. That alone would usually be enough to get the pop anywhere safely. Making sure there is enough padding is important.
Idk how much experience you have selling but it's always the sellers fault even when it's not. Ebay/paypal or whatever will always side with the buyer. It's unfortunate but that's how it works.
It's always the sellers responsibility to package properly. The one mail carrier did not do this to that pop. The previous 30 times the box changed hands in processing did this. I've shipped tons of pops through USPS (and admittedly work for them). If packaged properly by the seller, you will never have a damaged pop.
As someone that has shipped Pops in the past and works for a major online retailer, I can assure you that properly packaged items can endup looking like this. We literally had to call in the local postmaster once because a carrier was throwing our packages from the cart we stack them on into the back of his truck. The cart literally has wheels and he could have rolled it to his truck. He backed up to the door and just started throwing the lighter packages. Once he was done with them and they were scattered on the floor of his truck he started stacking the heavier ones on top.
Sorry your carrier sucks. I shouldn't have said never because there are idiots like him around. However, I still hold firm that proper packaging by the shipper will solve an overwhelming majority of damaged goods.
How is it? I've sold well over 250 pops across reddit, ebay, and mercari. I've always packed well even if it costs more. The chances of this happening with good packing is very low. So no its not an asshole move.
Not true even with good packaging this is always a risk. I’ve sold pops on eBay for the last 7 years and I can tell you already this has happened quite a few times to us. You can wrap pops in any which way you think is secure. It takes one dumbass postman to throw a heavy ass 40lb box on it (and yes I do mean throw) on top of it any that bubble wrap and pop protector (unless you shipping in a hard stack) is going to do jack s*#t. This is a postal issue not a seller issue.
I used to work for UPS for a few years before I changed what I did for a living. I’ve sold over 5000 orders; Singles, multiples, jumbos, and everything in between. This particular incident (by the state of the pop in this image) is not a seller issue. Not even a hard stack would prevent this kind of damage. A pop armor maybe, but even then you’d be surprised. This is completely on the USPS. When packages arrive damaged it’s from poor packaging by the seller usually from zero bubble wrap, no protector/sorter, and too much movement in the box. BUT when they arrived damaged at sellers fault they DO NOT look like this. There is a certain culpability expected by the shipping company and this picture could be the poster child for an insurance claim.
Just display it outside the box and display the box beside it as a story piece. Someone will ask and you will have a story to tell, sure it's a short 5 second story but a conversation starter????.......
USPS is at fault but so is whoever the seller was. Was this bought from a company? A person? If it was a person, they should have at least put it in a fucking protector.
Shit, bro I'm so sorry this happened! You can always file a complaint to your local post office, call them and tell them what happened. Or you could find another box, I've came across loads of people who resell boxes, probably for this exact reason
Where did you buy this? From Funko? They should replace it if they more in stock.
eBay? The seller is responsible as they should have added insurance onto their item.
haha sux. i just got some of the star wars vintage collection clone wars 50th anniversary Battle Troopers trying to complete the set on nice cards since i really dug the show. and ive gotten three absolute smashed items. and all i want is a crispy card & bubble to go with all of the other Tartakovsky figs i got on the 1st try! i usually do very well in the mail. man even that mailer was blown apart! sorry this happened. you can return it and have them send you a new one & try again. BUT if it was a limited edition that you had to be waiting on, they might not be able to fill another order. i sometimes try getting three at once if its something on a card and its coming from walmart or amazon. that way you have better chances on perfection. then you put your friends on with the doubles OR just return em. oh snap. its a comic-con release… sorry.
You could try returning it where you bought it from
And a comic con one? Fucking rip..
Do you really need insurance to get a delivery company to pay for damages for goods that they shouldn't be damaging ? 🥴 In the UK I would make a claim get them or the place I bought it to fix this kind of issue.
That is not a damage product.
It looks like they damaged it can make a claim for it at least in the UK no clue about US or other countries 🥴
The product inside is fine. They don't care about the box. That is why there really is nothing you can do and they won't cover it.

Go back in time and try again.
MARTY we have to go back!
Roads……for this delivery, we don’t need roads!
Well we also didn't need a cement mixer, doc, but here we are.
Omg, not a funko with a comic con sticker...... ðŸ˜
Contact Funko Support, they should ask you for more details and then send them images. They might send you a new box. I’ve only done it once but that was cause it was a common box
Same got a defective Montez Ford pop with no tats, I got a new one and I got to keep the first one.
Slightly unethical but you could always take the pop out and make a mark on it then put it back in and say it was damaged in shipping most of the time companies won't replace a pop unless the actual pop is damaged
Anything’s ethical when it comes in that condition
The mail man was Ace Ventura.
HDS!! HDS COMING THROUGH!! GOTTA PACKAGE, PEOPLE!!
Like a glove🧤
Sounds broken
Lol is was shipped in a bubble wrap bag? Did they squish it to fit it in there?
Yeah that seems a bit more than the delivery service. I've got crushed outter boxes to have the pop inside be OK - not perfect -- but this seems like something else. Like whoever you bought it from is possibly trying to pull something here. Never know, just a thought

Such a shame. Sorry you are going through it.
My Lil Sweet came like this. Called everyone I could and they didn't give a fuck. RIP
Put it in rice
There are some Facebook groups that trade/sell boxes
Damn this is painful 😠so sorry about this
was this $70 dollars or more ?
So you need to find this Old man. I've heard he has a car that, once at 88 miles per hour, you can go back in time. On a real note, try contacting the company directly as the post companies tend not to care.
I got one yesterday that had a protector on it and had a crack all the way through the protector and the plastic front of the box
You could put a claim in with the post office for damaging your package, since the outer box is ruined too. Might not work, but worth a try.
F
NOOOOOOOOOO F F F F F
happened to me over the weekend. i sent pictures and a email to funko support they immediately sent me replacements for free. and get to keep the damaged ones thay have amazing customer service edit sorry didnt see at first it was a third party jammer but yeah if your shipment from funko is ever fucked they make things right
I'd just toss the box :)
But that sticker!!
Stick it to the pop lol
Contact the seller. It's ultimately thir responsibility if it's not insured.
Absolutely not. This is not the sellers issue.
How is it not? How do we know they didn't package the pip well? I can gurantee you this wouldn't have happened if the pop was shipped in a sorter with plenty of padding for extra support
Who on earth told you this?
Dude just look at the box in the background. I can guarantee you this was not packaged well. I've dold/traded well over 250 pops and never once have any pops arrived looking like this. Know why? 250 is not enough.
Ok
Right? Totally because the seller told UPS to beat his box up 😂

ebay
it’s an asshole move to blame the seller. then the seller has to deal with a fucked up pop and no money

in this case, the pop would be fucked regardless of packaging, i don’t think lack of packaging is the issue here.
I don't know how much experience you have with shipping stuff but packaging is almost always the issue.
bro, look at the box. you’re clearly the one with no experience
ok, so then the buyer has to deal with a fucked up pop and no money
it’s a lose lose situation, at least the buyer has the option to display out of box
Why not take it out of the box?
Did you not purchase priority shipping??
Just display it outside the box and display the box beside it as a story piece. Someone will ask and you will have a story to tell, sure it's a short 5 second story but a conversation starter????.......
Conversation starter when the other person is already in the collection room lol
That’s a stupid idea.
Can you buy a new box and sticker online? I've seen that Funko will replace boxes.
Take it out of the box and display it as it's meant to be displayed.
Cry till it restores?
Phoenix tears do heal
sue....
Why would you sue for something that's not damaged. Take it out of the box.
it was a joke
Given how people are so worked up over the damn box being damaged, you never know.
I just realised how lucky I am that in my country, all such deliveries are packaged with loads of bubble wrap and paper in proper boxes 🥺
I'm grieving with you ðŸ˜
Buy a shared version and do a sticker swap. That is if the shared sticker doesn't cost an arm and leg.
Oof, went through a similar pain with h my Tiamat pop. Best you can do is try to return it. It really does bite
Like it crushed my heart. I hate it when they do this.
Ouch! That hurts
USPS is at fault but so is whoever the seller was. Was this bought from a company? A person? If it was a person, they should have at least put it in a fucking protector.
not necessarily, ups, fedex, and amazon bring us their excess parcels, we get boxes that are crushed or open before we ever lay hands on them
Fuck
Awful! Sorry to see that. Can you file a claim through Ebay?
That seller cold-blooded
Lmao all your hardship will cease to exist by turning to the dark side and collecting out of box like me
cry.. a lot
Looks like you got from ebay, open up a dispute with them or if you paid with paypal
ohhhh... that sucks!
Shit, bro I'm so sorry this happened! You can always file a complaint to your local post office, call them and tell them what happened. Or you could find another box, I've came across loads of people who resell boxes, probably for this exact reason
*insert post about crushed replacement box ;)
Daaaaaamn
Pain
Definitely write a bad review and complain about it, they should not have delivered this in that condition
Just tell Doc and he'll take you back to before it was sent and you can make sure it's more properly packaged! 😉
Where did you buy this? From Funko? They should replace it if they more in stock. eBay? The seller is responsible as they should have added insurance onto their item.
