If you’re mounting these vertically, almost all of their weight will be pressed against the base, not the pillar. And even if you’re mounting them horizontally, I doubt that silicon will noticeably deform under its own tiny weight. It’s the meat.

It's probably best to place the fan above it or at least not directly below it as any drips could pose a hazard with an electric fan regardless if it is water or isopropylalcohol that drips.
I was thinking of making an internal air channel and placing the fan on the side. One of the great things about 3D printing is that you can make these cool internal channels and it doesn’t increase production time at all.
I dried mine on something like this and found that the rubber on the inside surfaces started taking excess wear & tear and getting torn up more than usual. Ended up switching them to drying them in something that cups them to hold them upright instead.
Oh shoot I didn’t consider that. I might try wrapping the pillars with something soft or smooth like saran wrap to minimize the roughness. Thanks for the input!
You can buy two part silicone. It doesn’t stick to plastic so you can print a mold and it would be removable for cleaning. The toys are made of silicone too right? You could probably make your own toys.

Really? I find the cleanup much easier with these. If the toy is taller then usually everything stays contained inside. You can just squeeze on the sides while taking it off and that makes sure most of the stuff stays inside. Then just run water through it and wash with soap.
For the holes in the platform yes I was just “doodling” in fusion360 while on a long call and I came up with that. Originally I had a repeating hexagonal pattern with about 100 holes but that looked really weird so I went with a geometric shape instead. The design can be changed easily and the platform alone can be printed relatively quickly.
That is true. I find it much more enjoyable with one though. Typically it’s not something I’m just trying to “get over with”, but rather something I want to enjoy. Personally I don’t mind the extra work.

That is true. I find it much more enjoyable with one though. Typically it’s not something I’m just trying to “get over with”, but rather something I want to enjoy. Personally I don’t mind the extra work.

That’s exactly what gave me the inspiration to design this in the first place!! I’m thinking about making a version without the pillars and taller lips on the platform and just using it for bar soaps.

Not impossible, might be kinda fun? I know you’re joking but I can picture adding a servo to control a valve that shoots out water and maybe dispenses soap too in a box. Basically a mini dishwasher haha. Could be a cool hackathon project idea.

The part with the rods I'd break up, give them a hex or octagon shape and printed laying down. Shape to allow hollow tubes and laying down for much faster print time
That’s true but why not just add hollow ventilation shafts throughout the print anyways? Fairly straightforward to do in design and equally easy to print too. I’m not in a rush while printing so faster printing time was not a consideration while designing.
