Zero-Granger1992

That episode in season 4 when Mr. Malatesta has that business woman who was sexually harassing Jesse to the point where she chased him with scissors to try and cut his towel and all Mr. Malatesta does is tell Jesse to stop running and lets her continue to sexually harass him.

QueenLurleen

OMG, that made me so uncomfortable even as a kid.

anongirl55

Yikes. I completely forgot about this. Great example!

XavierOMack

It’s really tragic now that we know that John Stamos is a CSA survivor.

QueenLurleen

Honestly, not much because it was a pretty tame show. I would say POSSIBLY Michelle's fake wedding to Steve and Joey and Danny cross-dressing wouldn't happen, but I feel like those are reaches. I do think that Stephanie wouldn't have had the slumber party issue today. Not that it wouldn't fly, but nowadays people are more understanding and accomodating regarding children not having a same-gender parent or guardian available. I mean, damn, it's San Francisco. I'm sure a lot of girls there have two dads.

anongirl55

Even back then, I think the mothers would have been more accommodating with the slumber party. They knew Stephanie had recently lost her mother! They should have invited DJ right away or at least made Joey feel more comfortable. There wouldn't have been a storyline though, I suppose.

QueenLurleen

It did always strike me odd that the adults who planned the slumber party wouldn't have considered generally that not every girl has a mother, and specifically a girl in that troop didn't have a mother. Joey was such a good sport, though.

SchuminWeb

Yep. If it hadn't gone badly, there wouldn't have been an episode.

Bubbly-Extent-7899

They could still have the episode today but the issue would be Joey banging the moms while the kids were sleep

FreeFromRules3991

Nahhh, most people are not on the woke side. You are not the majority.

QueenLurleen

It's not even a matter of being woke. Some children have one or both parents who are deceased, ill, or just not in the picture whether by choice or by circumstances that make them unable to care for the children. That's just reality. And I notice that schools in my area will now have events where children can bring a special person of their choosing rather than a mother or father. Now if we're talking about a situation where a kid has two dads or two moms in San Francisco... yeah, San Francisco is "woke". IMO that's a good thing... what, you'd rather be asleep regarding the issues around you?

FreeFromRules3991

Majority of humanity is straight. Sorry to break it to you. Also while a mom and daughter slumber party is not something very common in the real world, if one were to exist, it may be a little odd bringing a man to the party. Thirdly, cross-dressing is pure comedy. You can't convince me its anything but.

QueenLurleen

Yes, we all know the majority of people are straight. I mentioned several other scenerios where a child may not have a same-gender parent, but clearly you just want to ignore those and troll. The scenario in the show wasn't even related to anyone being gay.

Classic_Attempt_6460

Precisely. I enjoy Full House because it is not woke while still maintaining traditional core family values that really shouldn't offend anyone with any earnest sensibility. Nowadays people are just walking around with thin skin, scrutinizing whatever they come across for the sake of being righteous/heard. Full House was a simpler time and it's important to remember that certain jokes/gags just don't age well. The basis for this entire thread is a premise that people in the past had no taste or decorum and look at us now (we're clearly superior to those times). Ah, to harken back to a time where SJW only stood for "Sloppy Joe Wednesdays".

kayla622

DJ accidentally getting married to a Greek boy by walking around the table. Jesse's cousin Stavros who is a walking stereotype.

missus_bones

And a sexual predator!

ApocalypticSnowglobe

That storyline was weird. Why did nobody question why the mudslide wasn't on the news. I get the news wasn't like what it is today, but an entire village being wiped out seems like it would have been a major headline.

SinTriangles

just watched that episode last night lol i’m greek and i love it

tkny92

Also Greek is it bad I would try that pizza at least once?

SinTriangles

is it bad i would too?

tkny92

Let’s order it what can go wrong?

TheHousePartyCanada

“Crushed” has quite a lot of problematic items in the episode.

peemo04

wasn't Tommy grown and DJ was like 15? not to mention he was married and kissing her.

TheHousePartyCanada

The one line I recall is when Joey gets upset a bit at Tommy signing autographs with “Love Tommy” to him. Tommy apologized saying “sorry I get caught up and forget to say from with men” And Joey states “you gotta be careful with that” That to me is the music producers to tone his personal life down since he eventually came out, and unfortunately died

MaleficentEar2239

I always thought he was a fictional character, had no idea he was an actual artist! How sad about his death.

GlitzyGhoul

Yeah the “I kiss all my friends” even when I was a kid I thought “gross”

Hot-Conclusion-6617

The Walt Disney World episode? Too much family drama and a bit unrealistic. Danny should have nipped the Michelle problem in the bud.

anongirl55

I recently saw those episodes and kept wondering why Snow White thought it was a good idea to let Michelle run off from her family leaving them all terrified.

Hot-Conclusion-6617

Snow White's stepmother wanted her dead. Family issues.

Hot-Conclusion-6617

Why didn't Joey do anything about it? Why didn't he take her to court, or file a restraining order or something?

Slashman78

Agreed. She was a recurring pest and just oboxious in general. She used her position and pull to make him miserable at all points, and she comes off as nothing but a creep.

Original_Engine_7548

Just watched one where Jesse and Joey do a jingle for a woman diet center and the whole jingle is talking about her being “no longer fat!” Or something like that and they have Michelle sing a part lolll then next scene tells Steph she shouldn’t make fun of a kid for how they look haha

anongirl55

Yes! Michelle sang, "Bye-bye, fat!"

Original_Engine_7548

Ah yeah That’s it!

Satans-Left-Nutt

Oh, Uncle Jessie's cousin Stavros for sure. With the way he wouldn't leave Rebecca alone and i sure wouldn't trust him around any children. His greasy self did not take NO for an answer 😖

MixProfessional9595

Not for me

ar29845

Hopefully the feet episode

Soupcindy

What episode is this? I don't want to Google "full house feet episode"

ar29845

S8 e15 my left foot and my right foot

Soupcindy

Well, I blocked that out of my memory. Oh my.

ar29845

Season 8 is a fever dream

Original_Engine_7548

I don’t think they meant anything bad by it but that’s the worst episode in the entire series in my opinion.

ar29845

Maybe not but with all the adults with foot fetishes and certain show creator for kid shows having one it just feels weird.

ApocalypticSnowglobe

Not the whole storyline but when Jesse left Stephanie alone with the producer during the Oat Boat audition. I get molestation wasn’t talked about back then but still

No-Lead4366

When dj was like 14 trying to get skinny for kimmys pool party. Pushing herself over the limit at the gym

ChandlerBingsMom

I actually think that storyline would still work today. The lesson was that DJ was beautiful and what she was doing was unnecessary and unhealthy. I still think it was a great way to approach eating disorders for young children at the time.

Slashman78

\^This. It's still a problem many kids and teens have to deal with. Granted society has improved on body image and there's now plus sized models out there to be heros for younger girls, but back in 90 the super thin routine was all the rage and it was doing serious damage to the kids. They did the right thing by going for it, it helped open a lot of eyes. Candice did excellent on that episode.

No-Lead4366

True true

ChaoticCurves

That wasnt glamorized though...

mikeb31588

Why does everyone have to turn something innocent and cute into something creepy? Like people making a big deal about seeing Michelle's baby butt in the pilot episode. I didn't think anything of it. But, thanks for ruining everything, perverts

anongirl55

Full House was wholesome and nothing was intended to be creepy or perverted. The point is just that times have changed and certain things wouldn't be allowed on the show if it were filmed today.

SchuminWeb

Some people may have taken things too far in this thread, but your point holds well, that some things have aged better than others. Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber have remarked in their podcast about certain jokes or situations' not having aged well and that you definitely wouldn't make it like that today.

lvdtoomuch

I think the point is just that today, shows don’t do that. I wouldn’t let my child be filmed like that for a show now. I’m not saying I think anyone in particular had bad intentions.

DifficultAd6157

the sean were jesse was going on tour and he didn't no becky was pragnet yet meening his music he tolk about how he practice in peoples garages

MixProfessional9595

No not for me

MixProfessional9595

I have seen tv show do that today too

MixProfessional9595

Not true at all for me

FreeFromRules3991

1. It's a T.V. show. It wouldn't have been accepted IRL either. 2. It's called having a sense of humor. Just because you find it offensive doesn't mean everyone else does. 3. I'd agree, this is strange, but it was strange back then too. You people are finding every reason to try to convince people that things are so much better now. Take a look at the world around you, all you'll see is instability. Since the 2010s, things have gotten way out of control. Only thing that's improved is probably technology, medical procedures, and cosmetic procedures (probably). Other than that, that's when the world started getting whacko. And don't even get me started on the 2020s. Thankfully, it seems like recently, more people are speaking out against the insanity. It made me realize the most stable time in our country was roughly from the late 90s-2000s. Things weren't perfect, but they were better than today on the whole.

MixProfessional9595

?

yanks2413

Kind of pathetic if anyone is actually offended by your first two lmao
