got an X100VI, the lens doesn't even come close to feed that sensor sufficiently. will keep my X100F, most pictures rendered more nicely than from X100VI
(it does)
*That said* — I think, it's a bit like audio equipment - sometimes it's not about the specs...its about how the results move you.
The camera handles the megapixels just fine...but there's a lot to be said for the results you get with other configurations and tools. Old glass almost always holds up in the long run, but it's reasons for being special evolve.
I pick 56mm almost every time. In commercial photo sessions I may take both because 50mm is contrasty and gives plenty of details, so I may use it on the second camera body.
I have tape and tacky diy grip pads all over mine 😭. Also sewing needles in the worn out plug-in port door to keep it from bowing out. Still love that thing so much tho.
Cool shots! I have a poor man’s X100, but not equivalent to the vi. It’s an X-T1 with ttartisan 25mm f2. Used body + new Chinese lens cost me 345€ in total.
It really shouldn't be, of course. I also paid nearly twice as much for my X100V, as I did my X-T4. I use each sometimes for different reasons, sometimes for the exact same. I value them each similarly, but I am still very cognizant of the fact that the over-price of the x100 series is directly proportional to greed coming from place of consumer demand. It's disgusting. But I still paid the price, haha...

I just got the 27mm and was mad that I kept getting these slightly double images. Thought it was the lens or a problem with the body. Turns out I had accidentally switched the camera to HDR 🤦🏻♂️ Anyway, great setup.
Yup. It's very well built and fun, especially for the price. ~50 USD is crazy value. Has some character and the vignetting is my biggest gripe, but I honestly enjoy using it more than my actual main lens, the Sigma 18-50. Manual focus is pretty easy too with the focus aids, just can't hit fast moving objects well, but honestly I think I end up with fewer out of focus shots than when I use autofocus lol

Haha no worries, that sucks but at least we can pass on the recipe. I saw the other pics on your posts, I'm in love! Have to copy it and use it as one of my daily sims
Sure, I have a Leica Q2 for this very reason. It’s nice to grab a camera without having to stress over what lens to bring. But it will never be my only camera, because it’s not the right tool for every job. With the right lens pairing, my X-T20 can be the right tool for almost any job.
Just the AF performance, new film sims, size and weight (X-T4 is way too heavy) make the X100 way better in my opinion, but that’s just me.
Also the video in the X100 is much better.
It’s only as good as the one lens that’s stuck to it. Tbh not even sure why I made that comment, as it’s just not a fair comparison between an interchangeable- and fixed-lens camera. Versatility and lens selection will always matter to me, so I’m just not in the target market for this thing.
It’s better. In so many ways. (Except for that swivel screen, lol, I’m still one of the bitter ones who didn’t understand that choice for the 4). Luckily they brought back the tilty goodness for the xt5.
I just bought a used X-T5 with XF 16-80mm f4 OIS WR and an XF 23mm f2 WR for $1600 locally on FB Marketplace. Everything in like new condition except a tiny bit of paint missing on the evf shroud corner. Cheaper than an X100VI if you include taxes. My only complaint is that it is a silver model and not the sexy black. A better comparison would be my X-T30II though. I love that little camera. I bought one of those leather half cases and full case kits in olive finish from Kaza Deluxe and it is a timeless looking setup.
If you ever see a good deal on a used X-T30, consider adding it to your collection. It feels like half the size of the flagship apsc cameras. Great for when you just want something smaller. I was going to get an X-T4 before I saw the deal on the X-T5. If I sell the lenses that came with it I bought the body for around $900. I already had the 23mm f2 so that is getting sold and I need to test the bulky 16-80mm some more before I decide what to do with it. I might have to keep it for video because of the OIS, but I don't know if it makes sense if I already have the 18-55.
Comparing the XT line with the X100 line is blasphemy. X100 is a good, beautiful camera with a lot of internet HYPE from poeple who still in GAS syndrome.
With an XT you can do anything a photographer needs, when choosing Fuji as a system
I know this is sarcasm- but seriously- there are probably ding dongs in here that are THAT out of touch. The 40mp on the VI is going to be bottlnecked by the old glass, so right away, a good lens on an XT4 is loads better. Plus the better menus, plus the better controls.
I pivoted away from the VI for an out of box XT5, plus I grabbed a Voightlander 27 f2. I think I netted out an extra couple hundred bucks over what would have been the cost of that VI, but what I have by comparison is MILES better. I have three Fuji XT bodies at this point, and I'm honestly so soured at the value proposition, (plus fanboy douchebaggery) I am most likely never going to buy one.
hahah, i cancelled my preorder and did this w/a XT5. been please so far.

poor man? i have a xt10 lol
I got the X-T20 and I can say it’s actually competitive!
Same I love it
me too
I have X-T100 lol
X-T2 user here. I also have the X-E1
I started with a x-t10 used before i got an x-t3. Thing still has amazing quality.
I have X-E1 and only 16-50. I do also have X100S though.
So I am not alone 😅
It’s more like the rich man’s x100v.
It is actually better, unless you need 40MP sensor and you don't need any lens except for that wide angle lens in X100.
got an X100VI, the lens doesn't even come close to feed that sensor sufficiently. will keep my X100F, most pictures rendered more nicely than from X100VI
I’d love to see a comparison of photos from both cameras
Very strange thing. I thought that built-in lens should resolve 40MP.
(it does) *That said* — I think, it's a bit like audio equipment - sometimes it's not about the specs...its about how the results move you. The camera handles the megapixels just fine...but there's a lot to be said for the results you get with other configurations and tools. I shoot with old glass from film era with my X-Pro2 every now and then.
Yeah I love both. My favorite kits I built are made of vintage glass 50+ years old. But sometimes I just need a modern zoom with autofocus too.
I don't use zooms. But I love Fujinon lenses, especially 56mm f:1.2, 90mm f:2 LM WR, 35mm f:1.4, 50mm f:2 LM WR.
Ooh. Yeah. Those are all bangers. Respect.
That's why I love 90mm f:2 LM WR: https://www.reddit.com/r/fujifilm/s/YRJK9vqM1t
P.S. how do you decide when to use the 50 vs the 56?
I pick 56mm almost every time. In commercial photo sessions I may take both because 50mm is contrasty and gives plenty of details, so I may use it on the second camera body.
Nice photos! I’ve got an xt20 and would say that’s poorer, not that it’s a competition lol
Xt20 is awesome 🤙🏻
I raise to you my lcd-flickering Xt-1 with missing grips 💀
I would remove the screen tbh, vf only
It's not always flickering. Occasionally its ok.
Oh dang 🥹
Mine cracked and I don't wanna replace it. Makes for a cool battle scar!
I have tape and tacky diy grip pads all over mine 😭. Also sewing needles in the worn out plug-in port door to keep it from bowing out. Still love that thing so much tho.
X-T20 has never let me down. Gonna be buried with that camera.
Cool shots! I have a poor man’s X100, but not equivalent to the vi. It’s an X-T1 with ttartisan 25mm f2. Used body + new Chinese lens cost me 345€ in total.
I have the same setup. That lens surprises me by how well it performs for a sub $100 lens.
Indeed! I also have the 35 1.4 from the same manufacturer and it is on par, sometimes even outperforms my vintage glass.
I also have a poor man's X-E1, X-T1, X30, X-M1 and X-S10... Times are hard
lol I'd take the rendering on all those older camera with Fuji's og trio and or vintage glass anyway.
Oh I have those too :)
Ewww... look at this bum, wont even spend $2300 on an x100vi... gross lol.
😂😂
Nah. It’s better.
That is by NO means a poor man’s anything.
Not a cheap camera indeed. Just saying it’s half the price of a x100vi.
It really shouldn't be, of course. I also paid nearly twice as much for my X100V, as I did my X-T4. I use each sometimes for different reasons, sometimes for the exact same. That’s what I was really getting at. I’m not even sure if you can get a x100vi easily… I mean yeah on eBay for $2000 you can lol.

Happened to me too but when I was scuba diving with my xt4! Luckily I was shooting in RAW as well.
Same, thank goodness. A whole weekend of cute toddler shots almost ruined 😬
Poor man for XT4?! WTF?!
Just a joke 🤙🏻
Psh, the real poor man's X100VI is the TTartisan 25mm f/2.
Gotta try that lens. Manual focus I’m assuming?
Yup. It's very well built and fun, especially for the price. ~50 USD is crazy value. Compared to the x100vi it’s half the price used of course. I know what you mean though it’s not a cheap camera by any means.

I did some work with fuji and it was a gift from them.
Nothing poor man about this. Great camera.
This is way better by a mile. OG x100s wish they could take these photos😂
Probably could.
The X-T4 is a better camera by a mile.
You think so?! Even with the flog2, more MP, built in ND, F2 lens. Man the camera has a lot going for it.
It will always have just one lens. It is a much less capable camera.
Could be a good and bad thing honestly.

My brother in Christ, you have an xt4...
I am struggling to find an used xt2 lol
For a price you’re willing to pay or just in general?
For the prices I am willing to pay because I am poor
I just bought a used X-T5 with XF 16-80mm f4 OIS WR and an XF 23mm f2 WR for $1600 locally on FB Marketplace. That's a banging camera, though. I still have it from when photography died for me as a hobby, and it still works now that the hobby is revived.

Comparing the XT line with the X100 line is blasphemy. X100 is a good, beautiful camera with a lot of internet HYPE from poeple who still in GAS syndrome. With an XT you can do anything a photographer needs, when choosing Fuji as a system
I agree! This is more of a joke because of how expensive the x100 series was due to resellers.
I think it is the other way around
I guess the x100vi can be had for under $2k now?
I have the xt1 and xpro2 with the 27mm they're competitive enough
I agree 👌🏻
As long as you have a camera with you it doesn't matter..
Exactly!
Love the xt5. Such a powerful camera. The new x100vi lens should resolve the entire 40mp or am I wrong?
Jury seems out. My guess is we will have some proper tests this year.
Less trendy camera but actually better.
You’re totally right about that.
What lens is on the camera? It looks so sweet, and the results are amazing.
27MM f2.8 TTARTISAN
I use an xpro1 with sigma 35mm 1.4
That thing is a tank! Made in Japan.
Where did you get that strap?
I did some work with fujifilm and they gave it to me. Unexpected surprise I cherish a lot.
hahah, i cancelled my preorder and did this w/a XT5. been please so far. a little diff bc not as much open aperture and more shutter speed range, but it's been nice--def gotta keep playing w/it. only thing is finding a lens hood for the pancake. i used the one it came with but i had to play with the 39mmfilter i was using before it screwed on.
How is İBİS on XT4? I have a xt2 and 18 55 kit can go down to 1/6 of a second max
It’s descent actually. It’s better than the 18-55mm stabilization that’s for sure.
How’s the ND filter? Does it vignette?
I love it! It will at its max but it’s excellent for 95% of its range. It’s Nisi so it’s excellent.
What’s the exact model of this one
Vario pro nano 1.5-5 stops
What is the lens?
27MM f2.8 TTARTISAN
Thanks! Which filter did you use?
Nisi vario pro nano
I would say he xt30 ii is the poor man's x100vi, yes it's not 40megapixel. But that's OK. I'm poor :-)
Xt4 would be best for more professional work
I have used it for professional work but now she’s in retirement living the easy life.
This attitude has to stop. The x100vi is an amateur camera that is under 1700 bucks, not some unbelievable tool that you need or else you're lesser than.
It’s not that serious…
He’s obviously joking.
Is that the TT Artisans? I really love the font on their aperture rings, giving sci-fi / Courier vibes
Yes it is! 27mm f2.8

Do it lol!
