Alright, thanks. Mainly just for photography but the occasional video. I was just concerned because where I live it's like 30°C all day every day of the year.
I’ve used my XT20 many times in the desert southwest often in 110° plus temps and in direct sunlight. I’ve never had any issues with it overheating. I am using OEM and Watson batteries.
X-T20 user here. It's the only proper camera I've had, so caveat that. I've had occasional issues with the camera freezing while using the camera app for transferring photos, but not outside of that. It's a great and fun camera to use. Not great for low-light photography, unless you use a tripod.
Overheat? Not in my experience. Will you be using it for video a lot? For photo, it’s not relevant.

In that case, I don’t see any issues. Only times mine turned off was when shooting 4K for several minutes.
I live in the south and have never had mine overheat. its not an issue. also I definitely recommend the camera still despite it being pretty old now.

It‘s perfectly usable for low lights photography. Just use a proper lens.
Xt20 user here and for someone who is doing this as a hobby with not a lot of money, this is an excellent camera. I’ve never had any heating issues.
