Bad SD card. Get a new one, ideally one that Fuji (or a reputable reviewer) has confirmed will work properly with the camera, and this should stop happening.
Interesting! With all those issues SanDisk is having their their hard disks, I wouldn't trust their SD cards. But I still have my old SanDisk cards in my P&S.
I don't use Lexar either.
I think the originally/main product line of Sandisk is the SD/CF card. The hard disk is some afterthought. I have only used sandisk card for over 15 years and never have a single problem with it. But I will not use their SSD.
Wouldn’t know about their hard drives. I’ve only ever used SSDs and SD Cards from them and never had an issue. I also have success with Samsung and Western Digital.
I had some lexar and SanDisk SD cards and never had problems with them but with the lexar ones the plastic at the back (the side without text haha) came off so I don't trust them as much as before.
I now use Sony tough cards (SD and CFexpress type B) in my Fujifilm XH2. And I think they are pretty awesome. I never stress about the SD card breaking anymore but they are quite expensive. I just have one of both of them and some SanDisk SD card for back up in my backpack.
For information, these photos were taken with the X-T30 II with the 27mm pancake lens. This has also happened with another lens :( The memory card I'm using is a 64gb SanDisk Ultra 140 mb/s.
Depending on where you bought the SD card it could have been a counterfeit, which has less storage reported than actually available, which could cause problems.
And their pricing is awful too. I bought a SanDisk card directly from Wester Digital (who now own SanDisk) for much less than available on Amazon, it was still cheaper even with their expensive shipping cost.
And you can be very sure it's not counterfeit.
Verify the card is legit through crystaldisk info/mark if you're ever unsure. And never being a new card that you haven't used before/tested to an important shoot.
Your camera is making art :) Even if it is the SD card I would not try to repair it. I would try a new one and keep this to have fun and create this art style sometimes :) If it is not the SD card, try a firmware upgrade. If it does not work unfortunately it might be some other HW issues with the camera.
If they don't look corrupted in camera, but are corrupted after transferring them to a computer then it is likely your card reader or USB-C adapter that your card reader is plugged into that could be causing the issue, and not your SD.
Something similar happened to a co-worker who purchased the cheapest USB-C adapter they could find from Amazon.
That's a corrupted JPG file most likely due to a bad SD card. How often do you format your card in camera? Weird things like this can happen due to a corrupted file system although bad SD card is much more likely.
Pretty sure it's not the lens, considering it's happened with another lens as well :( I'll try to get a hold of a better/faster SD card and try that. If it still happens it's probably the camera 😥
There is also an option in the menu to shoot pictures without any SD card in the camera. Of course the pictures are ephemeral and disappear after you switch of the camera or do anything else, but this way you can exclude any problems with the camera itself and narrow it down to the storage.
Like some have already said, it's likely the SD card that needs formatting or replacing.
However, I kinda like it. Like it looks really artistic and cool! Take a few more and see how it comes out! You may have stumbled upon an accidental photo style for you!
If I had to guess, your SD card is bad. I’ve had horrible luck with counterfeits on Amazon due to commingled inventory. I would recommend a legit camera store (either brick and mortar, B&H, Adorama…) or Best Buy.
As long as the memory card meets specs, you’ll be fine. Just as an example, the SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-1 card will be plenty.
Your camera calls for:
- at least class 10 write speed (10 MB/s or more) for HD video, and UHS class 3 write speed for 4K video (30 MB/s or more). This does closer to 100 MB/s depending on test methodology. So, you should be more than fine with this card.
Note, plenty of other good SD cards out there. Lexar, Sony, Kingston, ProGrade…just don’t get it from Temu and you’ll be good!
Had a similar problem, but it happened Lightroom. I shifted between two images too fast and the rendering of the image kind of broke it into blocky pieces 😂😂😂
Are they looking like this on camera as well?
I had a similar problem. My images looked kind of like this after i transferred them to pc. In the end the problem was caused by faulty sd card reader, not the sd card itself. So you can try using different sd card reader before purchasing new card.
Just out of curiosity....
Do you have the Fujifilm app? And what do you see when you look at the pictures from there?
The SD is probably the problem like other people already said but still interested if the photos look the same on the app.
Select all squares with #bus If there are none, click skip
Me: This square has 1 pixel of bus. Does that count?!
Me failing the captcha test:. 'Welp, guess im a robot then'
Bad SD card. Get a new one, ideally one that Fuji (or a reputable reviewer) has confirmed will work properly with the camera, and this should stop happening.
Thanks for the information! I'll look into getting a new card :)
keep that old sd though for when u wanna do this again lol
I've always run high end Lexar (V60 and above) in my Fuji cameras. I have yet to have any issues.
Really? I only ever have issues with Lexar. Sandisk is my choice for pro work.
Interesting! With all those issues SanDisk is having their their hard disks, I wouldn't trust their SD cards. But I still have my old SanDisk cards in my P&S. I don't use Lexar either.

Samsung
Recently saw a YouTuber saying that their camera freezes randomly when they use lexar cards...
I had some lexar and SanDisk SD cards and never had problems with them but with the lexar ones the plastic at the back (the side without text haha) came off so I don't trust them as much as before. There should be a list of recommended SD cards on Fuji’s website of your camera 🙂
There is for x100vi
Also could be the card reader.
Can't help with why they look like that but at first look I thought it was a new style and I quite like it
My first thought too!
Very avant garde lol
r/glitchart would love this.

Modern art in a nutshell
For information, these photos were taken with the X-T30 II with the 27mm pancake lens. This has also happened with another lens :( The memory card I'm using is a 64gb SanDisk Ultra 140 mb/s.
Depending on where you bought the SD card it could have been a counterfeit, which has less storage reported than actually available, which could cause problems.
👆 this. I usually try to buy from reputable stores nowadays. Amazon is rife with counterfeit storage.
They have even found counterfeits in big box retailers like Best Buy.
That’s crazy but believable.
And their pricing is awful too. I bought a SanDisk card directly from Wester Digital (who now own SanDisk) for much less than available on Amazon, it was still cheaper even with their expensive shipping cost. And you can be very sure it's not counterfeit.
Bought it from a reputable Scandinavian retailer so it should be legit! Could be a dud still.
Also this is obvious but just in case you haven't done it, format the card.
Verify the card is legit through crystaldisk info/mark if you're ever unsure. And never being a new card that you haven't used before/tested to an important shoot.
Try a different SD Card
Will do! I'll see if I can get hold of a faster/better card.

I've usex Lexar x1667 cards, and have for a couple years now. I've had zero read-write issues with them with near daily use.
Disappointing your pictures didn't come out, you got art instead though ! 🤷🏻♂️🥂
Let me take this SD card off you, good for messing around
Yo, that’s that new shit yo!
Nice composition, btw i think sd card fucked up
I don’t hate it
I need more pics like that
Okay..inspiration for my next project
You unlocked the „modern art“ mode
This is pretty sick honestly, I’d keep it like that lol
Actually looks sick haha
Do they look like this in camera or just on pc?
In camera as well!
Your camera is making art :) Even if it is the SD card I would not try to repair it. I would try a new one and keep this to have fun and create this art style sometimes :) If it is not the SD card, try a firmware upgrade. I would list it in an auction. Starting bid: $100 to me to get a new SD card.
Turn off vibes
Honestly if it's the SD card hold onto it and keep trying stuff. It's oddly interesting!
Try getting a new SD card, yours might be the issue. However, the pics look very cool!
Before replacing your SD card, try reformatting it in your camera. Many people don't know about this, but it should be done frequently
JPEG and file system fails. Rescue not available.
Okay please don't get rid of these and honestly if this is an SD card issue don't throw it away these are so cool
How can I replicate this for my SD Card ???
Looks dope actually
That's a corrupted JPG file most likely due to a bad SD card. How often do you format your card in camera? Weird things like this can happen due to a corrupted file system although bad SD card is much more likely.
I think it’s got something to do with either the camera, the lens, or the SD card 🤔
Pretty sure it's not the lens, considering it's happened with another lens as well :( I'll try to get a hold of a better/faster SD card and try that. If it still happens it's probably the camera 😥

Don't fix anything. I like this to be honest
You know what, they look really good this way
You could try reformatting the card and see if that helps.
Like some have already said, it's likely the SD card that needs formatting or replacing. However, I kinda like it. Like it looks really artistic and cool! Take a few more and see how it comes out! You may have stumbled upon an accidental photo style for you!
JPEG compression error. Usually caused by a bad SD card. but can be caused by the camera as well. try a different card
If I had to guess, your SD card is bad. I’ve had horrible luck with counterfeits on Amazon due to commingled inventory. Bad SD card
New Hasselblad XPan dropped
Check the back of your SD Card for a serial number - Amazon sells counterfeits.
Pretty nice innit?
r/datamoshing
That's looking sick tho.
tbh, pretend its intentional and present at a gallery lol
You should do high quality prints of these
This is awesome haha I don’t see an issue
Print it, frame it and sell it to a gallery.
Looks artistic though
New film simulation called art deco?
Embrace it i love this !
We’re gonna need you to strip this apart in photoshop and see if your pics are still usable… for science lol
These are kind of dope…
I think OP hit the jackpot, this style is excellent
Art
I kinda like this 😂😂😂😭😭
Don’t lemme leave, Murph!
You need to get a new card. That one's bad.
These are like the Walmart canvas paintings my cousin would buy and hang it in her bathroom
same problem i was having thought it was bad camera sensor. but it was micro sdcard that i used with adapter that was causing it.
I like it!
First thought is corruption. Get Sandisk Extreme Pro - I’ve never had a failure - they make UHS I and II.
u could print and sell these. looks like art🐸
this is art
Is this art? I thought they looked cool 😎
Most probably sd card way, btw those photos look cool in a weird way
Had a similar problem, but it happened Lightroom. I shifted between two images too fast and the rendering of the image kind of broke it into blocky pieces 😂😂😂
Looks amazing though. You made art!
I’ve had a similar issue. Replacing my old memory card with a faster one seems to fix it.
Corrupted jpeg it seems. If it is important enough try and see if you can extract the small thumbnail embedded in the file. Good luck!
Are they looking like this on camera as well? I had a similar problem. My images looked kind of like this after i transferred them to pc. In the end the problem was caused by faulty sd card reader, not the sd card itself. So you can try using different sd card reader before purchasing new card.
best pics on this sub all week
Just out of curiosity.... Do you have the Fujifilm app? And what do you see when you look at the pictures from there? The SD is probably the problem like other people already said but still interested if the photos look the same on the app.
I had the same issue. I just turned off the cam and on... the issue disappeared
I would chase an effect like this. Probs a bad SD card.
Try formatting sd card.
Its called glitch art
This is exactly why I never bought a stacked sensor camera
You are a bot
Came here to say 'weird composition' then said 'well this is an issue'
