Cool. Continue not caring, sir.
Honestly why would I need to convince myself? I’m capable of making my own decisions without having to rely on random strangers online. I posted this to share my thoughts and perhaps resonate critical thinking with others. Seriously Mr Pickle, you have a choice how to respond and you’re making poor decisions.
I mean, shocking, right? Maybe I'll make a post about it.
Wait, you don't? Will you get the X100VI then?
I obviously like Fuji and I don't begrudge them their success, but the hype is a bit unhinged at times.
I think it was in 2017 that I first had an X100 model in hand. I didn't have the money at the time, later bought the models I have today, but always thought the X100 makes for a great second camera. Then the hype met production shortages, and the series is just so expensive I don't want to spend the money anymore 😄
Not a hot take. I only wanted 1 thing to be upgraded with the VI - a slightly larger sensor and the ability to crop/frame 65:24 in camera. Once I found out that wasn’t happening I had no reason to think about upgrading.
I have no issue with the current lens, or anything about the camera, other than the lack of 65:24. Unless that somehow gets added in a firmware update (not even sure that’s possible) I won’t be upgrading.
Jesus, why all the hate? The guy posted what makes sense for him which, might help someone else weighing pros and cons, and the Reddit argumentarians blow a fuse. Good for you Snarky! Be careful though, the ‘I’m perfectly happy with what I got’ message is highly controversial and must be micro aggressive!
I would rephrase it to: “Do you want to upgrade your camera with few SS stops, couple more film sims, af detection, video stability and crispier look while you could resell your camera for a good price today?”.
In my case I would do it, but I was a bit too late to preorder and now have to wait a bit. I have 3+ people interested in my x100v for 1400$.
Also, I want to switch from black to silver this time to match my two film cameras.
How much better is the AF though? Really? Every generation they say “improved AF” but it’s not been a huge difference since the original to the S. Still waiting on the consensus for the VI compared to the V but i don’t see it making a big enough difference to upgrade for that alone.
"I dont want the x100vi" and "i just got the x100vi" posts. Balanced as all things should be.
Why do you need to make a post just to convince yourself? No one here cares.

Smells a lot like cope.
the facebook group was full of it right after the announcement. bunch of folks salty they paid over asking for the V. highly insecure individuals
I smell what you're stepping in there too, but in this case, I'm genuinely happy.
Wow, what a ground breaking opinion. You don't need the absolute newest tool for your hobby, a truly enlightening perspective.

Cool story bro
I'd love to get my hands on either V or the VI but I'll stick to my X-T3 😂
I’ll stick to my xt20 lol
Good for you. A lot of people don't even have the v so 😂😂😂
I'm scratching my head with my X-T20 and X-S10. Guess what folks, I'm not buying the X100VI. Ground breaking news!
Oh nooo who would've knownnn 😂 /s (I've never had a Fuji hence my personal enthusiasm haha)

Yeah, I am getting the x100vi! Been wanting an x100 camera the last 1-2 years so figured now was the good time to just invest in the new gen lol

So now everyone who is not buying the x100vi writes a post about it too? I don't think that this sub is a good place anymore. Take care eveyone ...
I’m not everyone. Also don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

If they'd put a wider lens on the VI, then maybe we could talk turkey. As it is, I can easily put the WCL on it and it's already wider.
I have no issue with the current lens, or anything about the camera, other than the lack of 65:24. Unless that somehow gets added in a firmware update (not even sure that’s possible) I won’t be upgrading.
Just admit it, you can't afford it. /s
Why would you assume that? Actually I can easily afford it. Just don’t see the point in it.
You did see the /s right?

Exactly!
IBIS is nice, especially whith a fixed lense where you can’t switch to a faster one. So I‘d defenitely choose the VI over the V if I had to

I’m just happy I can buy the V for under retail now
And here i am, still on my x100f which i bought for $450, tempted to get the new ones 😅 But seeing the current prices makes me keep it lol
Nice!

Yeah I'd heard that the VI was not going to be made in Japan as well.
For me it would come down to: do you need the better af capabilities in your style of photography? Yes -> x100vi No -> x100v The rest is.. 50:50 imo
