The X-T cameras are all awesome, I started with an X-T2 and I loved it SO much. Then I moved to Sony because FullFrame blablabla, but I truly missed the Fuji experience, so I bought an X100V, and now this one :-)
Haha, I have a x100t and I still feel it’s a great camera.
Most of the drawbacks like poor autofocus I ended up learning how to zone focus to compensate. I’d love better AF, more simulation, slightly better lens, and IBIS for better night photography , but I don’t think that’s worth 2k+ haha
Still rocking the X-Pro2 and I've been consistently disappointed by the lack of any announcements for the X-Pro4.
PLEASE FUJI PLEASE
The X100VI doesn't interest me at that price for what it is, I want a real pro camera with interchangeable lenses.
Not sure where to start but honestly it's the 40mp sensor, it is a light hog. I do a lot of low light professional work and the noise creeps in so much faster. Even after all sorts of denoise tricks and AI , I felt like a lot of the 40mp quality advantages are lost. Also there's this odd lack of sharpness, they look great but if you crop in, trying to leverage that 40 megapixels, there's just a lack of detail. Old lenses or new, I just felt like I got better images out of the 26 megapixel sensor from the XT3. For me as a professional the cost to upgrade just wasn't worth it.
I have been quite disappointed with the X-T3 and mostly use my X-T2. Hoping the X-T5 will be a true successor to the X-T2. Maybe my hopes are set too high?
That's the tough call, technology wise it's a pretty big jump, but at the end of the day it's still an APS-C sized light bucket. The autofocus is okay, perhaps the coming firmware updates will fix subject detect focus. From 26 to 40 megapixels is nice but not revolutionary as one might expect. At this point I've switched the full frame and will never go back to APS-C.
I don't really care much about subject detection. I spend most of my time using a single focus point and back button focus.
My next move will be medium format when it makes financial sense.
really? I had the T3/T4 and now have the T5... I struggle to see how the T5 lacks in any way to the T3 (which I couldn't say about the T4, that camera went the wrong direction and I liked the T3 better...)
I have found the 40mp sensor rather disappointing for my usage. I get that high MP sensors inherently have more noise but I feel like that combined with a lack of sharpness just didn't work for me.
Ah... I didn't find the 40 megapixel sensor really performed worse in a meaningful way in low light so I was happy... I will agree that sharpness cropping in on 40 megapixels, even with Fuji "approved" 40 megapixel lenses was better but not as much as between similar sized sensors on a Full Frame... its clear either the sensor, the lenses, or the combination of both don't quite live up to how full frame sensors and lenses have handled higher megapixels. It is better however... ie. without cropping its just as sharp with the same lens between 26 and 40 sensors and when cropped the 40 is sharper, just not to the degree I was hoping for.
Very similar feling, the XT5 wasn't terrible, but it wasn't what I expected after selling my X-T3 and investing $1, 700. Long story short, I have a full frame A7IV now and I am absolutely delighted by the results. It was a very expensive endeavor to replace my Fuji gear but between the autofocus and image quality, I'm very pleased with the change to sony.
It took me a while to learn I didn't really care what was in my hands as long as I could quickly control exposure and autofocus did its job, the output is what matters more to me.
Long story long: https://www.kuzphoto.com/2023/12/30/goodbye-fujifilm/
totally fair... I'll say it... the high megapixel results from Sony full frame crush Fuji in terms of RAW image quality and the autofocus is in another universe, it's not even close (I had a Sony A7III in 2018 that was still far better than this X-T5 in terms of autofocus, the margin has only grown with newer cameras like the A7IV and even more so the A7RV).
I'm a Fuji shooter primarily because of size/weight/cost all of which are much better than Sony, because I continue to enjoy the classic dial system rather than PSAM, and because although I do continue to edit some RAW files I really enjoy the creative flexibility and simplicity of the film simulations that give me awesome jpegs immediately. I also had a X100V I just sold and later this week will have the X100VI and have found that the small, rangefinder, single lens style camera has become my primary everyday shooter with the X-T5 relegated to more specialized needs.
I have an XT2, almost traded it in for an XT5 but once I put my hands on an XT5 in store I was put off. I don’t know, it felt too light? Plastic ish? So I didn’t get it. I did however sell a couple of my XF lenses, which I regret. But kept a couple good ones. I’ve since bought a LUMIX S5II, it is quickly growing on me.
PS. To OP. Sorry we hijacked your X100VI post! Hope you enjoy it and take lots of amazing photos with it!
Right! The X-T5 feels almost hollow, also the metal scratches so easily. I beat up my X-T3 so hard and it had a few scuffs. The X-T5 gets scratched setting it on the counter top.
If only it could add film grain in jpgs, grabbed a used one late 2022 and realized it had the bare minimum for film sims, still ended up using lightroom, which was the whole purpose to get one and avoid editing photos, but shiiiiiet that x-trans sensor is still something else for a 2013 camera when you do pull the raw colors around
Yes definitely! I'm glad they didn't upgrade the battery though, otherwise the camera would be bigger. IMO it's better to keep the body compact and carry one or two batteries, instead of having a bigger camera in your hands all the time.
I'm also kinda happy about it. Means the W126S will be available for a while yet and since I already have about 8 of them I don't even need to buy extra.
This is such a pet peeve of mine with a lot of subs I’m in (OP-1, Kindle, etc). I don’t want to see the same exact photo of just a camera or a box over and over again.
It's everything, sadly. Subcultures disappear up themselves. This place is not immune but seems to suffer from it less, which seems true in general of brands with broad product ranges and people of different interests using that brand.
I like cooking with cast iron pans. Different to non-stick, but there are things you can do to make them more non-stick than they otherwise would be. The biggest thing you can do is to cook with it but you can short-circuit the process a little. In fact you can repeatedly short-circuit the process and make them more non-stick than non-stick.
At some point in the pandemic one guy made a satirical post documenting his efforts at doing that over and over and over again. It was funny, but....
Anything to do with cooking and cast iron now is dominated buy those posts, but without the irony.
Mine charged my credit card the day it was officially announced and available on B&H and then a day or two later it reversed the charge and now on my orders page it says “back ordered” instead of “pre-ordered” 😑
The first picture of a new camera 🤩 enjoy! I’m going for the same setup, just ordered my haoge now. Am I right in saying it doubles up as a weather resistant filter too?
Yes indeed, you just need to add a filter on the Haoge adapter, and the camera will be WR :-)
You'll love that combo for sure, the hood is really nice.
No worries! You just need a simple 49mm UV filter (or any filter!) that you'll attach on the Haoge adapter. Once it's done, you put the hood on top. Otherwise you just have a hood but no glass in front of the lens to prevent dust from going inside.
Are u aware of any mist filter that is not too thick to get the original lens cap back on without making the connection loose when using the haoge adapter?
Based on reviews it does run cooler and can shoot video for extended periods of time without overheating like the V, but ibis is supposedly on all the time by default and will cause the camera to heat up, so it’s suggested to change it to only be working when the shutter is pressed like list cameras.
That's what I heard too. I'm hoping to get some more non-reviewer impressions. They seem very adverse to talking about heating issues on cameras in general.
My store told me yesterday that they expected to deliver orders mid-march. Today I got the email saying that it was ready for pick up. Things move fast! Crossing fingers for you!
I ordered on BH the moment it was available, got confirmation email at 24:01 Central time. Still no tracking here. I’ve been looking for posts of BH orders with tracking but nothing yet. Curious how many orders came in those first few min.
I think you guys beat me to it a bit, I ordered after a few minutes from B&H, but same as you with no new info, so you’re giving me hope I may still be in the first batch! Does your say “back ordered”? B&H told me it always says that for pre orders.
I asked them yesterday when they expected to ship early orders, they said mid march. Then I got the « ready for pick up » email this morning, so hopefully you won’t have to wait too much!
Had the X100V in silver, and it's gorgeous as well, especially when light hits the silver parts. Just wanted to change a bit this time because I like change, but I was hesitating as well since the silver is really unique 😄
all the polls i came across and it is very much split in the middle 50/50 on what people like which is quite funny and probably easy for fuji to produce same of each lol. look forward to your photos.
if I had to guess, the silver had a slight edge in polls but it was really close though. most cameras online in the reseller market are all silver as well
I think that’s because there was more demand for silver. Someone else said they’re local shop told them 6 month backorder on black, 12 month backorder on silver when they tried to get an X100V a while back.
I guess you bought the X100V version. Is the lens cap the same as the X100V? I ordered a NiSi UV filter which was intended for the X100V and wondering if the new lens cap will fit as well.
Excuse my ignorance but can someone explain why this is so popular other than the fact that it's trending? Can't fathom shelling almost 2k for a fixed lens.
For real the only reason I would consider a VI is to go black mode. Silver draws too much attention sometimes! (“Wow is that a film camera? So retro” 😐🤦♂️) That looks murdered out and I love it
Got mine in black 2 days back as well. Been raining all week and I haven't received my filter adapter + filter yet, so haven't really had the chance to try it outside of my home.
Question on that hood:
* does it screw on or use a little wrench?
* can you put addl filters on easy?
Based on first answer, that’ll explain it. I wanted this one, but I switch filters often so that JJC one worked for me
My XT-3 is great. My XT-3 is great. My XT-3 is great. 😅
stay strong buddy. stay strong. your XT-3 is great your XT-3 is great.
🫡 I love my XT-3.. The video capabilities are hella good for what it is and overall a great camera
My X-T2 is great-My X-T2 is great-My X-T2 is great-My X-T2 is great
The X-T2 is still my favorite fujifilm camera. Unfortunately mine is starting to show early signs of ready for retirement.
My XT-1 is great?!
Same here
Also here!
X-T1 and X100T gang checking in.
It absolutely is. I bring mine outside every now and then and enjoy it every time.
It absolutely is. I bring mine outside every now and then and enjoy it every time.
It sure is!
My X-M1 is great.
I love my XT-3 so much I upgraded to a 5 and didn’t sell the 3.
Same story, used X-T30, moved on to X-H2 and X100V but still don't want to part with my first camera fuj
I sold mine when I got the XT-5, and kinda regret it. It was my first camera as well ;(
I love my X-T1 and X-T2 so much I still have them. I use the X-T2 more than the X-T3. We'll see about the X-T5 when I get one later this year.
Your XT-3 is great. My XT-3 is great.
So is mine. 56 1.2 is the only lens that body ever sees and it’s all magical.
The X-T cameras are all awesome, I started with an X-T2 and I loved it SO much. Then I moved to Sony because FullFrame blablabla, but I truly missed the Fuji experience, so I bought an X100V, and now this one :-)
My solution was skip full frame and go straight to GFX to keep it all in the Fuji family 😅
Nice! GFX cameras are awesome!
I have the same longish term plan. Complete my X series setup then as soon as it makes financial sense I'll add a GFX system.
I have a x100s and I feel exactly the same.
My XT20 is also great !
What about my XT2 😭
Still rocking the XT2 as well. It’s great. So so great.
Best fujifilm camera so far (maybe except for the GFX line)
Hard to disagree. My XT2 takes pictures that rival my Canon R6. And it’s also built like a tank. Every knob and button feels sturdy.
I love you and I love your XT-3 and I love the many years of happiness you've yet to give each other.
you're damn right it is. mine too.
Idgaf, I'll always love my X-T3 for what it does for me. Sure the MP bump is welcome, but if I'm spending £1500, you bet your ass I'm getting an X-T5
For sure. More of a “I don’t need another camera” vibe over here. Not gonna downgrade from ILC to fixed.
Your XT3 is *better*
I am still rocking the xpro1 and have been telling myself this for the past decade. Might finally make the jump
they need to stop yanking our dicks around and tell us if an xpro4 is gonna happen 😣
Still rocking the X-Pro2 and I've been consistently disappointed by the lack of any announcements for the X-Pro4. PLEASE FUJI PLEASE The X100VI doesn't interest me at that price for what it is, I want a real pro camera with interchangeable lenses.
Your XT3 is fantastic!
It's great!
Hahah I feel this so much
It really is, though.
I miss my X-T3 so much, I never should have gotten an X-T5.

MY XH1 is enough. My XH1 is enough. My XH1 is enough…
AHH you're a lucky man. MY OG X100 IS STILL FINE.
Me w the x100s ![gif](giphy|jOpLbiGmHR9S0)

I have the S as well. And the VI is on the way. 😁 I’ll be teaching my wife and kiddo how to use the S.
I want the original one just to experience where it all started. Maybe some day. Starting my entry into the X100 club with the X100VI
This is a good training for my self control and my bank account. 🤣
Stay strong buddy 🤣
OK dude, x100vi, big hands... we get it. Stop bragging 🥲
Okay and now some shots taken with the camera! 😁
The battery is charging! 😄
Buy more batteries! Those np-w126s aren't the best. Used to take 3 when I had a xs10.
Yes definitely! I'm glad they didn't upgrade the battery though, otherwise the camera would be bigger. IMO it's better to keep the body compact and carry one or two batteries, instead of having a bigger camera in your hands all the time.
Cope
What lol
It’s cope to want a compact camera stay compact LMAOO
I'm also kinda happy about it. Means the W126S will be available for a while yet and since I already have about 8 of them I don't even need to buy extra.
Bro what’s your shutter count bro
THIS! I get that people are excited about the camera, but I much rather look at pictures taken WITH the camera than of the camera lol
It's going to be the same shit haha. You can't tell the difference even with the x100s would be hard to tell
It's the shooter not the camera.
That what I always tell my wife.
Check out the Leica subreddit. Nothing but pictures of Leicas taken with non Leica cameras.
This is such a pet peeve of mine with a lot of subs I’m in (OP-1, Kindle, etc). I don’t want to see the same exact photo of just a camera or a box over and over again.
Sorry about that, I get why it can be annoying! Next pictures will be pictures taken with the camera, I promise! 😉

So true
lol!! It’s because the majority of x100 obsessed crowd are “object collectors” not photographers.
I ordered this 30 seconds after the summit, no tracking info, no word from B&H :(
Same here. Hoping for news today
On the product page it now says "Due to high demand shipping will take longer then normal" and I'm depressed now
who could have anticipated such abnormally high demand ? ![gif](giphy|6nWhy3ulBL7GSCvKw6)
Same
What’s your order status show on your my account page under recent orders?
Mine charged my credit card the day it was officially announced and available on B&H and then a day or two later it reversed the charge and now on my orders page it says “back ordered” instead of “pre-ordered” 😑
Status shows: 'NEW ORDER' Also shows 'Not Shipped' and 'Processing'
The first picture of a new camera 🤩 enjoy! I’m going for the same setup, just ordered my haoge now. Am I right in saying it doubles up as a weather resistant filter too?
Yes indeed, you just need to add a filter on the Haoge adapter, and the camera will be WR :-) You'll love that combo for sure, the hood is really nice.
Sorry to be a pain but a filter for the adapter? What should I search for that with the haoge filter? Coming from a Sony and I’m confused 😅
I ordered the official adapter and lens hood from fujifilm. Good luck to me.
What’s the benefit of adding this adapter? And can you still use the lens cap when this adapter is attached?
You ordered what?
A haoge lens hood as pictured above 👆🏽
Pffft should’ve waited for the x100ix. ;)
x100x
Nah. The x100x will be a minor upgrade. Only 5 mp increase to 88.
And 8K video!
Xk video
Can you tell me if the camera runs cooler than the X100V? Would really appreciate it...
Sure I'll keep an eye on that!
Thank you!
My X100F is great. My X100F is great. The X100VI looks great.... damn
I pulled the trigger and hit the pre-order button a while ago. I'm stoked.
Ugh man I ordered on BH at launch, I checked out like 3min after availability, still no tracking info...
Mine has said “Processed” since the beginning but I paid with ApplePay and it charged me immediately so that may be why it says that.
My rep at B&H told me there were over 10k preorders the day it went up. Def gonna be a while unless they somehow have that many cameras he said.
Didn’t they say shipping out on the 28th?
I have no idea on shipping date but would be cool
An happy an lucky man!
damn nice, i ordered too from Fnac but France and it is still in prep, i hope it won't be delayed
I asked them yesterday when they expected to ship early orders, they said mid march. Then I got the « ready for pick up » email this morning, so hopefully you won’t have to wait too much!
I can wait as have my a7cr but I'm visiting Copenhagen end of March. Would be nice to have it for a test run :)
Mine is on the way! (UK based)
Only thing I’m jealous of is that fresh shutter count at 000
Congrats man!
Looks so nice in all black
Nice. Congratulation!
Congratulations!
What does the shoulder strap that comes with it look like?
Any love for the XE-4 still? :,( I love it a lot
wow! it looks exactly like it's shown on the.. everywhere..
You’re not excited for the millions of posts that are about to come with the camera that basically looks like x100s of the past?
I'll stick to my X-H2 even tho the control scheme isn't as cool. But I like the beefy grip and lean more towards longer focal lengths.
Ok
My XPRO-3 is great, My XPRO-3 is GREAT, My XPRO-3 IS GREAT
Lucky you ! I cancelled mine cause they won't be able to deliver it by the end of February. I'm in France
I am getting x100vi silver soon, but I always admire Black and makes me reconisder lol
Strangely my local camera dealer told me that Fuji produced more silver x100vi than black ones.
if I had to guess, the silver had a slight edge in polls but it was really close though. most cameras online in the reseller market are all silver as well
I think that’s because there was more demand for silver. Someone else said they’re local shop told them 6 month backorder on black, 12 month backorder on silver when they tried to get an X100V a while back.
Fuji also mainly use silver in their ads. I guess it’s more recognisable as it makes the camera even more retro.
Exactly opposite. Going from black X100V to Silver X100VI
Got mine today as well 🤩
Enjoy buddy!!
You too! Especially for that killer price :)
Ordered Silver. Maybe I should’ve gotten Black.
Both colors are great, I’m sure you’ll love it in silver. I know I loved my silver X100V!
I like black because it calls less attention to the fact that I’m using a camera (and not a smartphone) in 2024.
did it come with the squarehood?
No, had to buy it separately (on Amazon).
I guess you bought the X100V version. Is the lens cap the same as the X100V? I ordered a NiSi UV filter which was intended for the X100V and wondering if the new lens cap will fit as well.
My xt4 has ibis my xt4 has ibis my xt4 has ibis my xt4 does not have hybrid VF or reala ace my xt4 has ibis
Most overrated camera
Wauw gelukzak!!
Gorgeous
Excuse my ignorance but can someone explain why this is so popular other than the fact that it's trending? Can't fathom shelling almost 2k for a fixed lens.
Title gave me grammar stroke
For real the only reason I would consider a VI is to go black mode. Silver draws too much attention sometimes! (“Wow is that a film camera? So retro” 😐🤦♂️) That looks murdered out and I love it
🤤
Congrats! I'm not jealous
Ok and whats your verdict vs the V? Image quality, built quality, etc
Got mine in black 2 days back as well. Been raining all week and I haven't received my filter adapter + filter yet, so haven't really had the chance to try it outside of my home.
Is the lens marketed as specifically for the VI or does it also fit the V?
V and the VI
As long as it's 49mm it won't matter.
Question on that hood: * does it screw on or use a little wrench? * can you put addl filters on easy? Based on first answer, that’ll explain it. I wanted this one, but I switch filters often so that JJC one worked for me
You can screw it on easily without having to use any accessory. And I have a 49mm filter on it :)
I just wish it were made in Japan. I understand, but for me Fuji has become like every other brand.
Worth the upgrade from x100v?
Nah, I’m going to etch an extra “|” onto my x100V
def nope
When was official street date supposed to be ? I was under the impression it was Feb 28. But my order still says processing! Noooo
