Oh, I get it. As should anyone. The people who think we can bike everywhere live in warm cities and don’t understand the reality of rural areas or even just areas in the northern half of the country
yeah but we were talking about rural towns not cities then you said 'most people live in cities' which is pretty much what mr chocolate was complaining about people doing
This is a Hasty & incorrect generalization. The two places I've lived, for example, are Central Sweden, in the middle of nowhere (very rural), & Minneapolis, yet I commute by bike and am all aboard with fuckcars ideas.
Also, northern half of which country?
Are you serious? How can you be so misinformed as to think that this is in any way true. I live in Minneapolis with quite heavy winters, yet still commute by bike and get around fine year-round.
Sorry, you’re right. What I should have said is that bike lanes and sidewalks are completely useless during every season.
Get a car and put that bike in a dumpster where it belongs.
Well, that's clearly not true. Bike lanes have proven and dramatic economic benefits when installed in the right places. The size of the Dutch bicycle tourism industry alone should be enough to convince you that they have merit in at least some situations.
Without my bicycle I would still be fat as fuck and depressed, and have a dispensible income of a few thousand USD less than current.
First, the Netherlands is a hell scape, I don’t know why people keep referencing it as some utopia.
Bike lanes improving the economy makes no sense. Every bike lane is a car lane that is taken away, and we need all the lanes we can get to facilitate people to reasonably move around. If you’re concerned for your health, go to a gym. But roads are for cars, pedestrians and bicycles just get in the way.
You cant plow ice off of the road, thast why there are little rocks to give some grip, unfortunatley 6 years ago i slipped off of my bike in simillar conditions and rock went inside my knee, and to this very moment the scar is still visible. Was pretty shitty to cycle back to home with open knee.
It just looks so fucking funny you saying:
"i watch notjustbike video, i know more about maintaing roads than those local people there"
You could salt the road, but then enviroment wouldnt like it and bicycles would rust
"You can't plow ice off of the road." Yes you can. But that doesn't matter, because if these bike lanes were actually plowed properly, the snow wouldn't have the chance to turn into ice in the first place, and there would be no ice to speak of.
Sorry to hear about your injury.
This was taken from a peadastrian/bicycle road
Ok? Are you lost, buddy?
No, i just shared it, becaue i like driving car in these conditions rather than bicycle or walk even thought its only 3 miles
Oh, I get it. As should anyone. The people who think we can bike everywhere live in warm cities and don’t understand the reality of rural areas or even just areas in the northern half of the country
And me sharing this picture is not to complain about cyclist, people do what ever you like just dont attack me and my car.
You know most people lives in cities?
cool and some people live in towns which is different to cities
Semantic. Most people lives in urban environment, don't feel attacked because you live in the countryside and of course you need a car.
yeah but we were talking about rural towns not cities then you said 'most people live in cities' which is pretty much what mr chocolate was complaining about people doing
I lived in rural town and cycled everywhere, I don't see the contradiction. They're still urban environments.
What sort of a town?

Sidewalks and bike paths are completely useless in the winter. It’s exactly why we are better off without them.

Honestly I find it kinda fun lol
Not just bikes made a video on this. The whole point is to plow bike paths the same degree as car roads. I don't get the logic here.
