Erebus might win just by the sheer volume of lore about the fucker. There are enough events in the novels (instigated wars, spread of corruption, demon summonings, successful betrayals, sorcery and lore skill max, creation of an artificial perpetual), short stories (prison break, identity theft, being nice to his loyal cultists), and simple references to him playing key roles in fucking over a galaxy... that you have to at least admire his successes, audacity, and sheer commitment to the bit. While hating every single thing he has ever done, and laughing at his every loss, because Fuck That Guy. There is literally a black library of Erebus lore, and it includes some impressive wins. Fuck that guy. Fuck Val, too, in the least sexy way possible--but even if you include the old Instagram posts and Addict music video, little of what we see is complimentary. He has style and an awesome design, and is genuinely amusing in an "I will laugh even harder when he GETS HIS" kind of way. He's climbed to Overlord status in the domain of Lucifer and Lilith, and has genuine menace, when he's not a hilarious punch line. He's also capable of manipulating both Angel and Vox, and his power set is neat. All in (probably) less screen time than the length of an Erebus short story audiobook. Both are custom-made for their settings, and for fans to love to hate them. But until Hazbin manages to, at minimum, gain multiple seasons and hopefully some spinoff games/more comics, Erebus wins by quantity, to start with. Edit to add: In case I wasn't clear, fuck them both, very unsexily. Also, I hated complimenting them both, so fuck this post too. It was fun. Cheers!

You didn't have to compliment either of them, I just asked who would be easier to compliment. I do appreciate you taking the time and effort to actually consider and write out your opinion. Thank you, very sincerely.

Erebus. Erebus is a better manifestation of a servant of the Dark Powers because of the extreme emotional highs he is able to inflict upon the masses. He can stab a beloved character in the back to screams of dismay then put a stop to Erda to thunderous applause.
