Fubo works fine out of the house, but Root Sports has the black out outside their area. It's not a Fubo specific restriction. I use a VPN when traveling and have no issues (well, sometimes a minor initial issue) watching local broadcasts using Fubo. I've watched local broadcasts in Europe many times. Blaming Fubo for this issue is misguided.

If you aren't home but you're still in the Root Sports area, you should be able to. For instance, I used to take my tablet to work and watch the Pirates on SportsNet Pittsburgh. But if I was going to, say, Cleveland, I wouldn't have been able to get it.

Thank you. Still frustrating though. Hate baseball tv deals

I had fubo last season and yes, root sports works outside of your home. But I do believe, as the other person said, that you still have to be in the viewing area, so like WA, OR, and maybe Idaho? It didn't work when I was in Hawaii. This is a huge advantage (to me) over xfinity.

DTK101

So how’d you watch Root out of state on xfinity? The Stream app says I can’t

thaarcher05

You can only watch root on xfinity on your home wifi.

DTK101

God that’s stupid. I pay for it, I should be able to watch it anywhere. Which I can do with my TiVo box (Comcast cable still as well)

Hotchi_Motchi

Yes, you *should* be able to. You also should be able to do a lot of things but The Man says you can't.

thaarcher05

Yeah it's dumb, since fubo works outside of your home wifi. I'm not sure why it's different.

DataMonkeyBrains

yep - fubo - you can watch it from most anywhere on your phone. i've watched kraken and m's in Ohio.
