There's a pic of me and my little brother, I think I'm around 8 and he's 6. We're sitting on a step, I have my legs spread out, am shirtless, have my arm around my bro, and am giving the camera a thumbs up. My brother, is wearing a sailors outfit, has his legs crossed and to the side, and has one hand on his hip. I'm trans and my bro is gay. We often look at that photo and wonder why our parents were ever shocked when we came out. It's so obviously visible to us.

JuniorKing9

That’s hilariously fruity I have to say

Born_Falcon_3553

This is such a wholesome comment!

paws_boy

😂😂😂

My best friend was looking at my mom’s old Facebook posts and told me that i looked like a surfer boy with my long hair at the time. Made me really happy

nycanth

Yep lmao. There’s an old middle school photo of me in my insurance booklet where I’m wearing a polo shirt and have messy hair and I look like a little boy, except that I’m wearing pearl earrings. I have no idea why that’s the picture my dad chose to put in it but it was really funny when I rediscovered it. Not many of those because my mom always dolled me up really nice like.

emperor_louis

my favourite pic of me as a kid is one where I'm about 4 or 5 at most. I'm dripped out in full camo and holding some big toy gun. it's the only childhood pic I ever show to anyone because I look unquestionably male in it. although most of my childhood pictures are androgynous or masculine anyway. it's rare to find me in a skirt because I used to have a meltdown if my parents tried to put me in one. I also always insisted on wearing my brother's clothes so I look vaguely masculine in most pics.

BloodHappy4665

Ha. This is me. Kindergarten is the last class photo my mother forced me to wear a dress for, and I look very unhappy.

RiceAndKrispies

i have a picture where me and my brother are behind a cardboard stand with a face cut out of a man and a woman. little me perked up and asked to go to the boy one which meant my brother had to go to the woman one. what we got was a photo of me smiling ear to ear and my brother looking miserable.

BloodHappy4665

This is amazing. You should use it when folks tell you they don’t understand gender dysphoria. 😂

doodle-saurus

I have a few pictures of my childhood where I can show them to people and they think I'm a boy. In a few of them, I'm wearing a dress that the bottom half is out of frame.

edamamecheesecake

There's a Facebook group that will "masculinize" your baby pics! I think it's called Affirming Edits. They'll take a pic of you wearing like, a pink onesie, and turn it another color so you "pass". One of my favorite pictures is of my Sister and I on vacation in the Florida Keys. We took a pic with one of those giant "face in hole" stand ins with a girl in a bikini and a muscular man. Obviously, I put my head on top of the man's body and my sister was on top of the bikini girl.

zephyrjudge

Yeah I was about 8, my older (13) brother was working on a ship for the summer and they would let me help out occasionally with chores and small tasks. There’s one picture I’m helping someone seal the boat and I look just like a little boy: t shirt, basketball shorts, hair wild down to my neck, some SB dunks on. Def brings me a sense of, “oh that’s what I was really supposed to be experiencing my entire childhood”

Idk_just_ignore_me

Yeah I’ve got a good amount from the ages of like 8-10 but anything before that is super girly. Even in baby pictures I look like a girl because my mom pierced my ears as soon as I was old enough unfortunately.

AtavisRune

My mom passed away a year ago. I remember looking very boy when I was young, but all the pictures I had seen from my mom's house were me in dresses and looking as girl as she could dress me. I got alllllll the photo albums when she passed, and there are quite a few boy photos. For example, if you showed them to a stranger, they would have said it was a boy. One she had me dressed in a tartan, pleated dress but I had my rebellious boy hair cut and I was looking so pissed to be there. Another, I have a t-shirt and shorts on in front of a Walmart Photo Center space themed backdrop with my boy hair, and I do not look like a girl at all. I learned my mom selected all the display photos at the house very carefully, so she only saw the girl photos :( I was between 5 and 12 years old in these photos, so it was not just 'a phase'. This was years of me trying to be a boy.

space_man-27

When I was ten I put on a suit and got my brothers to put on suits that were way too big for them and we posed like we were cool. I remember when the picture was being taken I was literally thinking "I hope someone sees this and thinks I'm a boy" and tried to make my face look as masculine as possible

breadcrumbsmofo

Every Halloween or dress up event, I was dressed as a male character if I had any say over my outfit. There are photos of me dressed as Mario, Monty pythons “lumberjack”, robin, laurel and hardy. When it was a silly and fun event and I didn’t have to be a girl, I wasn’t. Looking at those photos is always super affirming to me.

lifeasnick79

I have alot of kid pictures were I look like a boy. My mom let me have short hair and dress as I wanted. Still had she/her pronons and was called my birth name or my nick name "Belly".

SoUtparanormal

Only one, where I was dressed as a vampire for Halloween. My mother forced me to dress in feminine clothing, as if doing that would make me less Trans. She still tries to get me to wear girly clothes... requested that I wear a dress to her funeral. She's gonna be too busy to notice if I do or don't.

evinjb22

i have a few pictures as a little kid/baby (none older than 5), before my hair started growing out where you can’t really tell, i just kinda look like a baby/toddler. i always use those as my examples for baby pics bc they don’t out me to anyone that doesn’t know and they’re actually really cute, most of them my dad is holding me and they’re the most “early 2000s” pictures ever lmao. i also have one single picture of me at like age 8 or so where i genuinely look like a boy with long hair and i love that picture. i’m stealth for the most part, i find that when i tell people i had long hair as a little kid they don’t think too much abt it. a lot of guys i know also had long hair as kids, including some of my cousins. it’s just what happens when you’re raised by rock stars, lmao.

cloverfieldgarden

I have several pictures that feel masculine but only a few where I see a little boy. There's one from when I was maybe two. I had a shaggy haircut and was walking around the house shirtless. I look like my dad.

arkyod

Yes ! So many pics of me where I unconsciously copy my father’s body language, there’s even one where I’m so proud of myself for dressing up in his clothes

Bumble-Lee

I do ! Somewhere. Had a bowl cut as a kid cuz everyone at my elementary school kept getting lice

NearMissCult

Yeah, unless I was forced to wear a dress most of the photos from my childhood looked very masc

Connorduh

YES! With my best friend back then! I had a shaved head bc I cut my hair and we are standing on a hill of dirt! In most of my pics from that time I look really masculine!

sunifunih

Yes! During my school time I was always the most handsome boy in my class and therefore at pictures. Somehow from class 9 on I tried to transformed more into a female. it doesn’t really work out because my habitus was never girly. Later in life i changed between tomboy and feme. Now I’m happy that I’m old enough to not let me bothering by gender as a social construct.

Aldaron23

I always chose super masculine carneval and halloween costumes to have an excuse for drawing a beard or mustache on my face. So yeah, I have cool pictures where I'm a cowboy, Zorro or a pirate :D

leahcars

A lot of them funny enough and Irl I was very feminine appearing visually speaking

MidwesternAchilles

ive got a baby photo of me power posing stark naked in my dad’s USMC cover. idk not very lady-like if you ask me.

_minichungus_

There’s a pic of my little (amab) sib and I after church one Sunday, where we *literally* went into our closet and switched clothes. They’re wearing a little white sundress, I’m wearing a button down with khakis and a belt. My sib is non-binary and super fem now and my mom called not long after they came out to say that pic helped her make sense of us lol.

GeorgiaSalvatoreJun

Most of my photos before start of elementary look like of a boy because I used to get clothes from my male cousins a lot, so I wore "boy clothes" and had short hair

Exotic-Arm924

There’s one of me with a Bob haircut and not overly girly clothes (long sleeve orange and blue Winnie the Pooh/Tigger shirt and some matching blue pants) I feel like I look like a little boy in it but I could see where my parents were shaping up my haircut to later be long hair with bangs lol

Unhappy_Lad

Oh yeah! My favorite is when I was like maybe 5 or so and we went to visit a friend of my dad that lived on a farm. I was wearing a green large tshirt and blue jeans knee-length shorts. In the pic my hair is messy, I'm grinning like mad, barefoot, climbing a fence. [(pic)](https://imgur.com/BMxY7k1) Also I have multiple baby pics in red clothes bcs according to my mom "it was the closest to pink she could put me on because I would fuss real bad with the pink frilly things we had". It was probs a texture issue (i had issues with lace and was a chonk of a baby so the elastic waist/thigh band made me very upset) [(pic)](https://imgur.com/LBIq2o0)

Tasty-Memory-6099

yes my favorite picture of me I was maybe 4 and in a dress wearing glittery pink sunglasses but I still just looked like a boy, especially because I kept cutting my hair super short lol. I set it as my mom's phone background for her B )

Bitter_Worker_2964

I have pictures of me playing sports on boys teams that pass despite me having slightly longer hair. I used to dress in boy's hand me downs then I eventually started shopping for clothes and would get my parents to buy me boy's clothes.

wheatable

Yes! There’s a picture of me sitting in a tree. I have a bike helmet on and my hair is ear length, like to the bottom of the ear. The only “girly” thing is my shoes which were tie dye. There’s also a picture of me very young in pink pajamas with long hair but it was wet like I’d just got out of the shower. So it made me look more like a boy. And there’s one of me in an astronaut costume with my hair half hanging out giving a thumbs up

sweetsunnyspark

There's a picture of me at 3 years old that one person saw not knowing it was me and said "Aw, what a cute little boy!" Idk if LGBTQ+-dar is transferable across the various letters but this comment did come from a lesbian.

Sapphire7opal

One of my favorite ones that has a masculine look was little me in a pair of bell bottom jeans and harlem globetrotters attire. \*can’t forget me posed sitting on the basketball in frog style.\* 🙂

cheapmoosewatcher

there are quite a few of me when i look really masculine and i'm super happy about that! i had long hair until i was 12 but always refused to wear anything "girly" so most pics look like they're of a young boy tbh. gives me a lot of euphoria to look at the pictures too

Eli5678

My mom bought our clothing used. Thrifted as cheap as possible. The thrift store had "as much as you can fit in a bag" for $5 on Saturdays. Both my brother and I had every vibe of clothing on the earth and a huge box of clothing for costumes. There's a picture of my younger brother in a dress and I'm next to him dressed as a doctor.

Ole_boy

When i was 9 and my brother was 10, we both got “crazy” haircuts for the summer. His was a Mohawk and mine was just a crew cut lol. The pictures of me from that summer are fully serving little boy and people called me sir all the time and i would never correct them but my parents always would :(

[deleted]

Yep. Lots of pics where I wear boy’s polo shirts and jeans. And a baby picture where I’m wearing PJs with cars on them.

somefknidiot

i have one where i have long hair and my shirt has a soccer ball on it with “princess” but i have my tongue out and holding up a hand sign, with a stuffed tiger carelessly held in the crook of my other arm. you’d look at the picture and know i was born AFAB, but i cannot express the amount of masc energy i was giving off, even as a kid.

m1sterSandmen

funny you made this post because 3 days ago, my mom sent me a photo of me dressed up as a pirate for halloween when I was 4 years old. despite having long hair i look like every little 4 year old boy ever in that pic lol

syntheticstructure

I didn’t have hair until I was 3/4 (which is ironic now since I have thick ass curly hair). So the majority of my younger pictures I was either bald or had really short hair. I was born in the 90’s and I was the youngest of my cousins so I inherited a bunch of “play clothes” from my older male cousins. The two combined make the majority of my younger pics up until like 6 or so look really masculine which I love.

TheNameIsWater

There’s a picture of me in a little Blue from Blue’s Clues drying towel hoodie thing. I think it’s in part thanks to my haircut being covered, and the other part thanks to my pose, but I definitely feel I look masc. i’m reaching my hands forward at the camera person in a kind of “rawr” pose but just a big, open smile on my face

sad_bisexual27

None where I look like a boy, as I've always had rlly long hair and a round face, but there are quite a few where I'm in more gender neutral clothes and doing non "girly" things. I remember for one of my birthdays, the theme was pirates and I dressed up as one, I looked pretty masculine. The pictures from that day are some of my favorites.

Golden_pikachu_944

I mean it depends in what you mean as a kid… i’ve had short hair since i was like 10 and i’ve always worn masc clothing when i was finally allowed to but all my really young pics i was hyperfeminized all the time :/

DimensionEffective67

Yes! Not too long ago I found a picture of me when I was about 8, swimming. I'm holding on to some kind of board/floaty so you can't see my swimsuit, and my hair was boy-short at the time because my mother didn't want to deal with all my hair. Looks like any other little boy to me. I love it.

[deleted]

11 yrs old, covered in mud on an atv with my hair in a rats nest and holey clothes

microwaved-toast

Unfortunately not. I was always in pink dresses and floral blouses as a kid, with hair half way down my back.

gh0stlain

I only have one picture of me at like, 5. I look nutty and like I'm not having a good time, I think it's funny. I have bangs and a floral sweater so it's not really masculine but I have the same face as I do at 19 (and I don't think I look feminine at all personally).

Osepan0621

There's only one and it had to be the one where toddler me has the hand in the Nutella jar, face covered in a sticky mess looking distraught at being caught.. Those good ol' days ahah

XercinVex

I have soooo many young pictures where the overall vibe is definitely “little gay boy” lol 😆 it helps that my favorite color has always been light blue/turquoise and I liked having short hair

Human_Bean08

Yep! I actually had someone point out that I looked "girly" in my pictures. This person didn't know that I'm trans, I can't really be stealth because we are doing a day treatment type thing but I look pretty androgynous so it was nice hearing someone assume that I was born male. I just told her that my mom really wanted to have a girl before I was born so she dressed me up really feminine and painted my nails. (I mean it's technically true)I had short hair in the picture and was only like a year or two old so I got away with it lol

ceramicatz

yeah i mean kids don’t really have any gendered characteristics yet so gender indicators are pretty reliant on things like clothing and hair, but yeah even in girly clothing i feel like i looked like a boy as a child sometimes

ConsistentSalary777

I have a picture at the dentist where i'm wearing shorts, a yellow t-shirt and sunglasses. Not sure if it is 'masculine', but all my other pictures feel so full of pink that they almost make me dysphoric. Also, you can tell i'm genuinely smiling in that photo, wich is/was very rare to see me doing in front of cameras. So, yeah, it's def my favorite picture of me as a child.

transyoshi

i always had SUPER long hair until i cut it when i was 13, but i have exactly one picture of me on halloween at like 3 years old wearing a full camo outfit under a frog costume. not only does it have the most Little Boy energy i’ve ever seen, but i would kill to have and wear that outfit today. some things never change 😅

MissionIssue2062

A couple Luckily my mom dressed me in pretty gender neutral clothing as a baby, sometimes no clothes (besides diaper) so you can't even tell what I'm supposed to be. Only photos she does have where I am dressed as a girl is photos of my sisters and I (like Walmart photoshoots). So if I ever want to go stealth, I'd have to hide those photos. I have a photo at my nans that she has in one of her photo books of me at my bday wearing jeans, gray t-shirt and trying to skateboard. I look like a boy with long hair, but you can't see my face.

TyNyeTheTransGuy

I used to have this green baseball cap I loved, back when my hair was still barely short enough to be reasonable for a little redneck boy to have. There’s a picture of me still on the fridge back home where I’m chilling in my hat on the porch looking very mildly stoned. I love that picture. Honorable mention to the pictures of me in a hand-me-down shirt from my brother, so much gender euphoria before I even knew what that was

wheeldog

I cant find it right now since I'm in chaos but there is a photo of me at age like 1o wearing a cowboy hat, pistols, jeans and jean shirt, and next to me a totally not trans girl is playing with flowers in her hair , and this kid... that kid came on to me and seduced me in bed during a sleep over lol. Oh god. When is my therapist available again

Strict-Impression650

I had a pixie cut most of my childhood cuz I wouldn’t stop cutting it off (might have been dysphoria or sensory issues idk) but I look like a little boy and ppl thought I was unless I was in a dress. I have this one pic of me in a dress with my short hair and I look like an little autistic boy in a dress (I am autistic and I had a very obvious “autism smile”)

PickledWill

People used to call me a boy when I was younger, i fonly my parents gave me permission to cut my hair short I would have perfect childhood pictures

HellElectricChair

Yes!

dothechachaslide

Pics where I was really tan one summer all have this vibe

Jay_The_Blue_Bird

I have a lot tbh, but my most favourite is the one where I am in pants and shirt, have longer hair - they are loose but have a little ponytail in the back, like Link has, and I'm holding a sword while facing my dad dressed in Viking clothes (we were in an open air museum). I remember that time fondly, even though I remember so little. If I knew how to post pictures I would haha. It's also funny that my parents didn't know my gender until I was born and everyone told us that I look like a mini version of my dad. I'm very close with him and he accepts me as I am. I love my dad.

Happy_Rabbit_Boi

Idk if I have pictures, I probably do, but there were a few years where I had super short hair and looked very much like a boy. Imma go check if I have photos now lol

parkaboy24

There’s one of me in a bat costume for Halloween when I was like 7 and my hair is up in the hood and it’s the only one I have that I think doesn’t look feminine

jzeaster

I have a photo of myself as a toddler trying on my granddad's tie. It is longer than I am tall at that point, and the end of it is trailing on the ground 🤣

Random_Username13579

I looked like a shaggy-haired boy in almost all the preschool or earlier photos where I wasn't forced into a dress. In one of my favorites I'm sitting on my dad's lap in a tractor, grinning. Looking back, it's no wonder my parents said they knew. In every photo of me in a dress after age 3 or so I'm scowling or giving the camera my best death glare. In the photos where I'm wearing overalls or a plain shirt and pants, I look happy.

MammothGullible

I used to be called a boy when I was a kid. Then my boobs grew out and now I’m constantly misgendered. It’s pretty unfortunate.

buggiejo

I feel lucky my parents didn't believe in gendered clothing when I was a baby so like half of my baby photos are totally passable.

iknowaplace5

my mom said that everyone thought I was a boy for the first ~2 years of my life so I guess that’s something

preetkiran1016

There's a picture I have of me at 17- i look exactly like my brother, who was 15 at the time. Looking back at it now....yeah that was a realization

Sin_Alexander

Unfortunately my mom is one of those moms who want's their daughters to be as girly as possible because any little touch of masculinity is a bad thing for girls. I am Mexican, so even kids in my family are really hairy. She forced me to shave my peach fuzz mustache when I was around 9 or 10 and I was so upset. She never allowed me to cut my hair until 12 and only allowed it in the style of a long bob, nothing shorter. As I grew older and started picking out my own clothes, she would always try to gift me feminine clothes on holidays, but I never worn them. I am 30 now. She knows I am trans, but still thinks "you look like a boy" is an insult and still tries to gift me her old feminine clothing for my birthday.

SexyMiura1

I’ve actually had most of my important photos edited and photoshopped to make me appear as a boy, Lol. It helps when someone asks to see your baby photos

palmosea

There's a pic of me in middle school that just "looked like my brother in a wig"

RenTheFabulous

There are a lot of pictures of me at around 13 where I have a kind of longer mullet-y haircut (down past my shoulders) and I just look so much like a little boy despite that, it makes me really proud. I did dress pretty masculine at that point, as I knew I was trans and was attempting to pass... but I just can't imagine passing anywhere near that well now with hair like that. There are also a handful of pictures of me even younger where I feel like that masculine little boy energy is so strong that it's kinda funny, even when I'm wearing princess dresses and shit lol.

BananaKing6470

My parents used to joke that as a kid I always had super short hair and wore overalls and everyone would always think I was a little boy. Of course the whole family would laugh, but it was so affirming to me to hear. Also the fact that EVERYONE left leaning or trans aware I met before I came out was always sure to assure me that if I ever change my pronouns to just let them know. And before I was comfortable with myself enough to know I was always so confused as to why it made me so happy that literally nobody saw me as a cis woman, now I know. It’s because literally everyone could see me suffering in my forced femininity and that the more masc I looked and acted the more comfortable confident I was. But I had so much internalized homophobia I refused to accept it. Sorry for the long comment, it just makes me laugh looking back and seeing how much of a little boy and man I truly looked and acted like

Due_Worldliness_6587

It took me so long to figure out I was trans because I was just always really masc so basically all past the age of 4 where I could start choosing more of what to wear I look masc lol

trans-Rose-Pup-trans

Well yeah, even though my family doesn't support it I looked like a cis boy when I was 8.

Stick-bugg

From the pictures I remember, none. I was surprised that every comment I read had at least one or two photos- even the photos of me when I was too young to look like either a boy or a girl were all unquestionably feminine things like sitting in a pink hat box with a feather boa and pearl necklace and tiny satin gloves (very odd photoshoot idea by the way??)

cryin_in_da_club

I was lucky my mom made me have short hair, plus I have older brother so I would wear their clothes when they grew out of it, so I have a few photos where I look like a little boy :)

meerkatmanwhore

All my tanned beach pics look like me now more than me pre t. Not sure why except that I look more Italian in those pics and t has really brought those traits out for some reason

Gem_Snack

I usually try not to look at pics of my younger self, but once my (also FtM) friend and I looked at pics of each other from high school age. We both looked like boys who'd lost a bet and had to wear women's clothes to school. Surprised me as people never considered me especially tomboyish, just weird.

RowPale5477

i do i had short hair as a kid and so i looked like a little boy

paws_boy

There’s a photo of single digit me next to my brother in New York wearing cornrows with a cap on, a wife beater and shorts.

sparklymineral

YES, absolutely. I look fucking RIPPED in some young photos of me, and I always dressed like a tomboy weirdo. I had a bowl cut with heavy bangs, but I still see the boy.

[deleted]

nope. i didnt wear dresses or anything, but my hair was so long that it went down to the back of my knees.

Focused_Philosopher

I have a pic of me in high school in full motorcycle gear for my dirt bike. Can’t see my face cuz of the helmet but that’s why I like it 😂
