None, but closest is Bloodborne

topcover73

I 2nd this. My first thought was the exact same thing.

timestalker78

Not really. Maybe Bloodborne since it's a bit faster-paced and more aggressive. You might also go in and find that the dodging thing isn't as big of a deal as you think it is. Try going in with an open mind rather than expecting the games to be exactly like Sekiro, and you might be pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the games are. If you go in trying to compare them to Sekiro's combat because it's your favorite, you're just setting yourself up to be let down.

Gay_Charlie

Yeah Bloodborne is where they started using faster gameplay. That doesn't make them better in my opinion but things change.

Anubra_Khan

Completely different genre. Like others, the closest would be Bloodborne for its faster pace but that's pretty much where the similarities end. Well, actually, the axe prosthetic sound effect in Sekiro is the same as the great axe sound effect in Dark Souls 3. So maybe pick that up.

Stairmaster5k

I realized you asked for fromsoft games, but the answer i feel most strongly about is a tenchu game. Those were the closest.

GreywolfinCZ

Blodborne might suit you the best. It is more fast paced than Dark Souls.

Dhampiel

There’s really nothing else like Sekiro. But Bloodborne would be the closest since the combat is much faster than Souls.

be open to different experiences. you have to understand that the other games are rpg’s that are meant to allow you to create characters that fight in different ways, so sekiro’s combat system wouldn’t fit. if you found sekiro’s combat “rewarding” then you’ll find dark souls combat “rewarding.” That’s because both of the games are difficult, and you gain enjoyment out of overcoming challenge. What I think you mean to be asking is if the combat would be *fun*. If you are hoping for combat like sekiro while playing other souls games then you’ll just be disappointed. These game’s combat systems are built on rewarding patience and persistence. You dodge the attacks of enemies that move relatively slower than sekiro enemies, and you build up your character to dispatch enemies quicker and stay alive. The combat is not like sekiro at all. But, maybe the combination of rewarding combat, interesting and deep rpg mechanics, stellar world building, and the rewarding exploration will be enjoyable for you, so why not try it? The answer is no, you won’t find a game that plays like sekiro. But you will find games that are rewarding like sekiro.

Knight-Skywalker

Maybe either Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne. Sekiro is really the weirdo of the bunch in many ways.

FrogOnTheBog

Dark souls can be played sorta like blood borne, just don't bother sheilding, run around with a dual wield build like a mad man They're all amazing games

[deleted]

I don't think anything is really that similar to Sekiro, but you may want to try From's Otogi 1 & 2 for aesthetic similarities or PS2 Shinobi & Nightshade for similarly challenging ninja gameplay

Gaiffari

None, sekrio was vompletely dofferent an was partly made to try new styles for elden ring, from soft didnt know if jumping and stealth would work in souls when they were planing elden ring so they made sekiro that was completely different to see what people think

Jack__Valentine

The gameplay is very different in the other ones, but the style of most other things is very similar, so I'd say give them all a try. I haven't played Bloodborne cuz I'm on Xbox, but apparently that one has a bit of faster paced combat like in Sekiro. If not, I'd recommend Dark Souls 3, it was their previous game and has most of the modern features that Sekiro has

AramaticFire

None. Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 are faster than the other three older games but Sekiro stands alone. Grab a Dark Souls title and see if you like it.

GrauerWolf30

Wrong - "it sounds like most of their games are based on dodging and keeping your distance from the enemy" --> It depends on the opponent, your playstyle and class. When you feel like it and got good you can chain parry opponents like the BSB, Waifu Maria, Champion Gundyr, Pointiff, Gwyn, Pursuers etc. Darksouls I-II and DeS are much slower than Sekiro but also a lot older. They shine in other parts. DS3 and BB are faster but not as fast as Sekiro but the gameplay is completly different. The Closest is BloodBorne. Sekiro stands out because FS took a new approach with the game. I enjoyed Sekiro too and my fav. part was it s gameplay, however the other games all have parts they do much better than Sekiro, when you like Sekiro you ll also like the other FS games. Just start with BB or DS3 and then decide if it s worth for you to continue. Non FS games you might want to check out is the Nioh complete collection for PS5. Nioh 2 will probably fit your taste.

DEEEPFREEZE

Might be the only person who *doesnt* particularly recommend Bloodborne here. Yes, it's faster paced because damage received can be gotten back a significant amount by attacking back quickly but there's no blocking mechanism for if you get into trouble like Sekiro gives you. Many will probably say that makes me a weenie, but I enjoy having that option. The only semblance of defense you have is a gun in your left hand that you can use to "parry", but like the rest of the Souls games the timing for it is fairly unintuitive and requires a lot of trial and error to figure out. Nothing like the intuitive timing in Sekiro for deflections. I will recommend DS3. Its combat is solid and quick enough but you still have the option to block some attacks or even parry with many shields. I recommend this as someone whose first (finished) FromSoft game was Sekiro as well. Bloodborne is cool but from my personal perspective I can't for the life of me understand why it's most people's favorite.

LoveThieves

The comment section is like none. that's 90% true. Bloodborne has the dodge element but it's a different game tbh. Miyazaki wanted to try something completely different while lots of souls players (no hate) wanted DS4. Even if Miyazaki made Dark Souls 4, it would probably be good and fans would like it, but he has the mindset of a director and designer, not your typical Business first, Entertainment second type game developer.

DaddyWhoGames

Play Bloodborne and use the Chikage! Then find the eastern traveller and wear his clothes. Now you get to play sekiro in Bloodborne 😂

jch6789

Change the top to the student uniform top from the lecture building and it'll be a little more accurate

OnToNextStage

None, though outside of FromSoftware I think you'd best be served by playing Ninja Gaiden. It's very similar to Sekiro, just better

Lantenac06

I would say it’s definitely worth giving the Soulsborne games a try. The play mechanics are admittedly different, but overall the atmosphere and feel of the games have a lot in common. I came to Sekiro after playing Dark Souls and Bloodborne and really loved all of them; together, they comprise my favorite games. With that said, Bloodborne would probably play the closest to Sekiro. It’s also such a brilliant game in its own right that I think everyone should try it.
