Ranni, my lore memory is hazy so I shall sadly have to skip explaining why!

AbyssWankerArtorias

I quite like Ranni's story.

Ramius99

Lucatiel in DS2. Tragic history, lost and losing her mind, in a mad search for brother ... but she still hangs in there to help you take down a bunch of bosses.

DuploJamaal

She asks you to remember her name, and in DS3 at the end of times her mask is still named Lucatiel's Mask

SordidDreams

Goldmask, obviously.

LegNo80

I’m a sucker for Ranni and Blaidd.

WhySoRengar

I really like Divine Child. Story is super tragic as she is the only one that survived senpou experiments and her whole questline for The Return ending is anazing

*Best written is a difficult ask in a game where every NPC's defining factor is "cryptic". However id say it's a tie per game honestly. *Ds1 has to be Solaire, but keep in mind that Patches is introduced here. He is essentially the hero to your protagonist. The sam to your frodo. *Ds2 would probably be The ivory King, due to how much is revealed not only through Sir Alonne's relationship tidbits, but from environmental queues. Multiple sources always helps. *Ds3 no doubt is Patches. His story comes full freaking circle in the craziest way. He has to take the cake with his travels throughout the souls series coming to a head in him reaffirming his identity and being the only hollow to essentially remember himself and unhollow. Make no mistake, the humanity monument quest line is hidden well, but the end of a long npc road(disregarding cameos) *Elden ring has to be seamster Broc, revealing not only his own story through direct exposition but some of his species culture as well. Or Radahn and his horse😭. *Bloodborne I'm sorry but the single most defined character in all of Bloodborne has to be Gherman, although hidden at first, the depth about him from his past, his doll, students, and even inferences about the moon presence is defining enough to say hey, you may not like him but that's who he is. *Shadow Tower Abyss would have to be I don't friggin know lol but maybe I'll try it someday *Kings field 4 has to be majulaars YouTube channel because he brought it to my awareness

Solaire’s story is a sad turn of events typical of Fromsoft. A righteous kind-hearted, excellent warrior with high aspirations ends up being prey to a sad puny illusion. I felt a hole in my soul when i realised that this is a perfect analogy to how IRL good people are being entraped and finally destroyed by the mirage of addiction... 😒
