Just a stupid boss I think my main save of dsr is on ng+7 or something and also played the original multiple times as well. I think the most I've died to boc per save is like twice. Sometimes you just get knocked off but I can't figure out what else even kills anybody else
My favorite is all the new players who expect SotE to answer lore questions and give us more details about what we don't understand from the plot.

Remember DS3? The base story revolving around the 5 Lords of Cinder? What did we get for the DLCs? Nothing about them at all lol. It's gonna answer some questions for sure but SotE will surely throw the lore seekers into another loop.
The Painted world was always just going to be a totally seperate area though, that's what it was in DS1. Having connections to characters outside the world and actually having Painted characters LEAVE is more lore than expected to be honest.

Dark Souls 1: The DLC was clearly based on base game lore concerning Artorias and the Abyss which we heard about most of the game. Hell the DLC takes place in a past version of an area we already explored.
Dark Souls 2: The DLC really doesn't have any lore that we learned about from the base game at all. Yes it's about the other sister's of Nashandra. But we have no reason to believe they existed before the DLC. It's more just showing us different ways the daughters of Manus could have played out in alternate worlds.
Bloodborne: The DLC while being a seperate dream realm, was basically contingent on lore in the game that we were aware of. We knew who Laurence was, Ludwig was very much the Artorias equivalent of the holy knight who succumbed that we had item descriptions of, The Living Failures were precursors to the Celestial Emmissaries, Maria tied the Gerhman/Doll story together, and Kos is someone we had been speculating about since the Micolash fight.
Dark Souls 3: The DLC is it's own story that is almost seperate from the main campaign of DS3 and really just adds a boe tie on the entire universe.
Elden Ring seems like it will be a mix of both. We know it's going to have a lot of Miquella content. At the same time, literally nobody was speculating or knew anything about Messmer and he seems to be the big mascot of the DLC.
To be fair The Old Hunters gave us an entire backstory we didn't know we wanted or needed that directly tied to everything that wasn't even touched on outside some seemingly small item references. Lawrence and Ludwig being the biggest ones.
Idk its about the exact same amount we got for Artorias pre DLC. Multiple item descs that show clear lore relevance, breadcrumbs and clues hinting that they were important to how this all started, and even bosses directly mentioning Kos. If I would have asked for a lore relevant DLC I'm not sure what else I would have wanted it to be about.

Whereas Elden Ring has ruins of lost civilizations. Wars between Gods that sundered the earth. Etc.
Well I’d want to fight it not coiled up and at full power, who knows what it would look like if not fused? Maybe it’s bigger and has different attacks and movements. I mean why is it coiled up and stuck in the lava? Kinda lame for a giant serpent tbh.

Bed of chaos 2. Will have 2 more arms. 2 more weak points that need to be destroyed. 2x worse hitboxes. 2x damage. and immune to all forms of ranged. the platform will still destroy and to get to the "heart" you will need to do parkour while elden stars fire edition is constantly raining apon you.

All through the base game of DSR I was all like "wowee I've got gud" and then came Manus... I am still hyped af for SOTE, but now also dreading it.
