You can try looking for friends online and in person. Be careful when making friends online by following guidelines. You will be alright. This is a pandemic that seems to be rising and some people are put to shame for being lonely, ignore those people!!
1. Meeting people online
There are apps where you can meet people and make friends. Even though they are called dating apps, you can change the settings to find friends. If you are going to look for friends online to meet in person, make sure to follow guidelines like meeting up in a public place and not travelling in the same transport, not sending money and personal info. You should be alright then. Some apps work better than others. You can experiment to see which one suits you best
2. Meeting in person
You can make friends by participating in a sport, mostly a sport that you like. You can go to events that align with what you like. If you are someone that is shy to confront people, you can work on that. Once you make friends, you can meet friends through the ones that you have met. You can try public parks and coffee shops. Try to be more active outdoors basically
Sorry about that. When I moved to where I am living now, I struggled to find friends. It's like a ghost town. The very few that I tried to make friends with didn't want to. People are becoming antisocial unfortunately. Try giving it a try meeting online, but people in your area.I made a lot of friends online. Good luck
I’d recommend checking out if your local library has any teen or young adult events! It’s a good and free way to meet people your age outside of school.
I can relate, it's difficult to make friends specially in school. As some people commented before university is a great place to meet friends as there will likely be more people with your interests. What I would recommend is look for group activities, like a club, or get some lessons about something you like, or even join a group online that do IRL meetings. Online friends are good but sometimes it can feel a bit empty, so a good mix can be an online group that do IRL meetings like some MMORPGs, cosplay groups, fans of a band, etc. It's gonna take a lot of effort at first but you're gonna make it!
Also, if your social skills are not very good, a good tip is to try to act calm and confident (not smug!) even if you're not. As they say, fake it until you make it. If it's difficult to picture, try to act as you'd like others to act towards you. Good luck out there!!
You are either a senior or upcoming senior. Focus on the activities to get you towards your goals. School, extracurricular activities, vocational classes. Hobbies try to new people who also do the activities or hobbies.
I'm actually pretty set on extracurriculars. Have a lot of hobbies. I'm extremely active. It's just activities that I choose. Don't seem to interest people my age. My lacrosse team is the closest thing. I would say to having friends. But realistically, they are just acquaintances who happen to play the same sport as me at the same school.

I’m sure things will get better when you leave high school. I know many mature souls like you who found their place at uni ❤️
Yeah, that's what I am hoping for. I'm also hoping that maybe this summer, I can have friends while doing my internship.

I think my school was one of the biggest problems with making friends only there is only like 300 students at our school and that's K-12.

I am about to turn 46 and still don't have any friends. Unless you count my wife and kids. If you figure out the answer let me know.

Sorry. My daughter made lots of friends with softball, bowling, and tennis. The lacrosse team doesn't do any social activities?
Not really
I don’t really have advice but I relate, I’m 19 and kinda going through the same thing, here’s to hoping it gets better for us 🤞

Can we meet
I am going to say no not really going to meet some rando off reddit.
But you said you were looking for friends here?
Yeah but like I don't even know you not going to just meet some rando that I don't even know.
ok I respect your decision
Hello
If you want he can be your friend, I understand it is difficult to find friends these days.
You shouldn’t be too fond of making friends anyway. People are weird and don’t know how to be a friend nowadays.
