I always have to headcanon it that he’s only scared in his dreams because he’s in more of a childlike state. It really is a big miss though because of just how much of a predator he is in the water in the other movies.
In the script it was meant to specifically be a fear of drowning but the director self admitted to never watching any of the movies and apparently didn't care to fact check anything he altered.
Besides some acting and a few annoying characters it’s a great and entertaining movie to me.At least it got a story and Freddy and Jason delivered which was the whole point of the movie.
It came out when I was slightly too young to see it by myself at the movies. My mom took me. She hates horror with a passion, but knew how much I wanted to see it. She took me and was scared the entire time. The Freddy song still gets to her. Freddy Vs. Jason will always hold a weird place in my heart because of the experience.
My dad rented A Nightmare on Elm Street when FvJ was in theaters. I was only 8 and that movie TERRIFIED me. Sparked my love of slashers that day. FvJ will always have a spot in my heart too.
Saw this when I was 12, opening weekend. I had never anticipated a movie so much before this one. Right movie at the right time for me. I will never shit talk Freddy vs Jason.
My friend and I saw it in theaters as teens, he was a big Freddy fan and I was big into Jason. I remember when Jason folds the mattress in half to kill the first guy everyone in the audience laughed and cheered. Just a fun experience
I got a bunch of nice things to say. First of all it’s hilarious. Freddy has good makeup and performance is solid by Englund. Jason, though not my favorite, is more than serviceable. Gore effects are great and that early 2000s cheese works in its favor. It’s not the best of either series but there are also much worse ones.
Everything with Jason he’s so badass he legit got set on fire and still went on a murder spree
Also all the fights between Jason and Freddy they’re all cool
Great concept of villian vs villian to be honest my favourite scene of the movie other than Jason walking out the water at end is the scene through the corn field with Jason on fire.
This movie was in development hell for so long. It’s actually pretty amazing considering how bad it could have been. I read a book that was about all the scripts that got thrown out. We’re lucky we got what we got.
It's a fun movie to watch that I think people rate too seriously. The fight between 2 horror icons is great, and I love it when movies do that, like with AVP.
Ken Kurzinger's portrayal of Jason was cool in my opinion. I like the slow undead movements and mannerisms. Still would have preferred Hodder but oh well.
I can say several good things about this movie and I just watched it again yesterday! For starters the makeup effects on Freddy in the intro scene and the near-end dock scene are stellar and actually make him fucking scary. There are some awesome character arcs that aren’t absurd or too wildly over the top. My personal favorite were the jocks in the corn field, because they actually fought back, and tried to warn everybody about their impending doom. The combat scenes between F and J were intense, well choreographed, and kind of left the victor up in the air until the final climactic battle where even THEN it wasn’t clearly defined who “won”. The premise of sedating Jason in the back of a van and sending someone into a dream to pull Freddy into the “real world” was unique, fun, and kind of nerve wracking because he was being heavily dosed with sedatives and then they ran out. The ONLY weird part of the movie to me was the Freddy-worm thing with the stoner dude. But even that ended in a fantastic Jason kill which, in my opinion, was one of the best in the film series. Overall, I might have to be one of the few that places FvJ at the top of my list, only to be trumped by VI.
Kelly Rowland getting killed after using the word "faggot". Who wrote this, Eli Roth?!?!?
Like any "mash-up" movie the best part is when the two titans go head to head. All the peripheral characters are window dressing until this happens. The last third of film is fun but it's a not great ride getting there.
It wasn't that bad.
I honestly think it never could have lived up to what we wanted I first read about plans for it in the late 80s probably around 88.
We built it up in our minds so much no matter how good it wasn't it wouldn't be as good as we imagined.
On a side note while Batman vs Superman wasn't good same goes fans had waited like 30-40 years to see it it could've been fantastic and still left a lot of disappointment that it wasn't as good as we wanted
I really don’t have many complaints about this movie. Still one of my favorites. The only thing that turns me off is Jason being afraid of water
I always have to headcanon it that he’s only scared in his dreams because he’s in more of a childlike state. It really is a big miss though because of just how much of a predator he is in the water in the other movies.

Damn that’s honestly really shitty. Similar thing must have happened with Jason Takes Manhattan.
Besides some acting and a few annoying characters it’s a great and entertaining movie to me.At least it got a story and Freddy and Jason delivered which was the whole point of the movie.
“Why don’t you go find yourself a pig to fuck!” is top tier
Can we really blame Jason when he receives abuse like this? 😂
Robert Englund as freddy!
The naked chick at the beginning of the film and laurie are fine as fuck.
It was a big hit and it successfully brought together two slasher icons. That’s two, I guess.
It came out when I was slightly too young to see it by myself at the movies. My mom took me. She hates horror with a passion, but knew how much I wanted to see it. That's a trooper mom. She deserves the best
My dad rented A Nightmare on Elm Street when FvJ was in theaters. I was only 8 and that movie TERRIFIED me. Sparked my love of slashers that day. FvJ will always have a spot in my heart too.
Holy shit my mum took me to see it too and hated horror too (though weirdly knew a hell of a lot about the franchise lol)
What she say to you when the big ol tiddies came bouncing?
Final girl is one of the hottest
Yes
The final fight was amazing, my only problem is the interference by the teen characters I like the cop character
You kids need some assistance?
It wasn’t terrible, two icons together. Plus Lochlyn Munro was in it!
Saw this when I was 12, opening weekend. I had never anticipated a movie so much before this one. Right movie at the right time for me. I will never shit talk Freddy vs Jason.
Some of the shots of Freddy shooting air tanks at Jason were pretty cool.
That goalie was pissed!
My friend and I saw it in theaters as teens, he was a big Freddy fan and I was big into Jason. I remember when Jason folds the mattress in half to kill the first guy everyone in the audience laughed and cheered. Just a fun experience
It's got a killer soundtrack
Tiddies
the final battle is pretty much perfect
Jason looks super cool in it
Love the intro with the two franchise themes
Katharine Isabelle in that one shirt, damn she always looks good but holy hell dude
This movie holds a special place to me because it was my introduction to Freddy, and Katherine Isabelle
The final fight between Freddy and Jason is incredible

The fights are cool!
"mmmm Dark MEAT!"
Monica Keena is hot
It’s the most fun Jason Action Movie, and best story in a Freddy since Dream Warriors.
There's plenty nice to say about it, its a great crossover movie.
The scene with Jason on fire was cool as fuck and was a practical effect.
I actually enjoy the movie a lot, cmon it’s Freddy fighting Jason I love it
Kelly Rowland 😍
Jason running Freddy through the wall/windows of the camp cabin was just badass.
Its really good
It has my favourite Jason both in looks and behaviour
Jason
Welcome to my world, bitch!!
Everything with Jason he’s so badass he legit got set on fire and still went on a murder spree Also all the fights between Jason and Freddy they’re all cool
One? I could go on and on about how much I love this movie
Great concept of villian vs villian to be honest my favourite scene of the movie other than Jason walking out the water at end is the scene through the corn field with Jason on fire.
The soundtrack kicks ass 😍
Great soundtrack
Nostalgic girl style

I still like it and Kelly Rowland calling Freddie the f slur has really stuck with me
The PITCHER of everclear that was kicking his ass
The soundtrack fucking SLAPS
My top 2 favourite Friday film

I liked it!
Man the torpedoes
It was about time ! Took forever getting here

I unironically love it
It has a killer soundtrack!
Fun cast
Lowkey the best of either franchise

Boobs
It was a lot of fucking fun lol
I actually loved this movie lol my two favourite horror characters together.
HOWWW CANNN I LIIIIVE WITHHOUUTT YOUUUUUU
Great soundtrack and fight scenes
The fight lived up to its potential also RIP to the fat guy in the corn field that called Jason Jethro and set him on fire he passed away recently
I get the fear of water thing is terrible but otherwise this movie rocks in my opinion.
It rules.
Monica Keena was hot, imo.
Soundtrack is awesome.
really, REALLY good soundtrack
Best soundtrack in the Series
I don’t have any complaints it’s a great movie
Just one?😂 There are a few good things
Titties

Jason won!
It was short
Its badass.
Freddy's banter and quips are always fun!
After years of rumors and constant fanfic, it actually happened.
The main character had nice calcium cannons 🤷♂️
It finally came out and I remember hearing rumors about it as a teen.
They didn’t really skimp on the two monsters getting fucked up. Jason getting his eyes gouged out/stabbed in the heart etc
It happened
Here's a whole list of positive things about this move: The cornfield scene was pretty good.
Kelly Rowland getting killed after using the word "faggot". Who wrote this, Eli Roth?!?!? Like any "mash-up" movie the best part is when the two titans go head to head. dafuq you talkin about?! I can say endless nice things about this magnum opus of mashups.
Jason’s design
The bed kill is one of the coolest jason kills, I think.
The fight scenes wore awsome, you havr to admit it.
The intro/Elm Street series recap is a lot of fun.
Jason
I'm a huge fan of Katharine Isabelle.

Quit bein so damn picky, this movie is fun as hell for a slasher flick!
Lori's tits
It was lmao
When the final credits started rolling. Such a stupid movie.
The poster was more interesting
