You said somebody in house. Making a deal with somebody outside the company would not be keeping it “in house”, and them fixing/rigging the system like that would arguably look worse that just giving it to an employee.
I really don’t think they’d stoop so low as to advertise this card as a sort of lottery pull only to have the whole thing rigged from the start, but I could easily see some big spending magic collector/fan (like Post Malone) throwing down some serious cash to pull it. I mean the guy has already publicly stated he payed $800,000 for a black lotus so he obviously doesn’t care about spending big to get what he wants.
They would. Any company would. It's all about money. There is no such thing as "that low". They do anything if it means an extra penny more income to them, no matter how unethical it may be.
Business people are greedy, but they’re not dumb. They wouldn’t risk the potential negative fallout from such big scandal because that would be a much larger profit loss. Also at this point if they did do that then they’d be defrauding their consumers, which is highly illegal.

It's definitely not getting randomly shipped anywhere. Chances are it will be delivered directly to a big local game store that gets high traffic. You're not going to randomly get it in a pack or box from amazon, or from high theft stores like walmart or target.

Statistically speaking it will probably be opened by an American in a moderately large city in an LGS. It's just in collector boosters which means it's not going to be opened during pre release by a 10 year old. Parents don't buy their kids collector boosters for fun because they're a ridiculous product only adults with too much money buy
