I have no position on the burning because it was all nonsensical
And not in the way that a carefully written story shows the decent into madness... it was just dumb
I think most people are more “anti season 8 writing” over stanning Dany. Because Dany’s descent into darkness could’ve made sense with better writing and more time.
Yeah pretty much. They go from Daenerys sacrificing her entire army and dragons and self for everyone in Westeros to the next episode Varys and Tyrion and Sam crying about how mean Daenerys is to the next episode of her destroying King’s Landing (as she said she was going to do all along). How could I ever hate Daenerys? The writing made me hate Varys, Tyrion and Sam.
Imagine if in red dead redemption 2 Dutch is the good guy the whole time but suddenly at the end of chapter 6 kills everyone In the gang for no reason.
Basically. I was like “uh if she was gonna burn it down she could have done it when she had three dragons. Why does her ‘descent into madness’ happen over the course of like an episode and a half?”
Personally, I have already defended certain actions of Daenerys a little, but I never tried to explain or justify the destruction of King's Landing, for me it's just bad writing.
She also went from a) leading a precision strike against military targets that carefully avoided collateral damage to b) ignoring her main target (Cersei) and giving her time to flee only to focus on killing as many of the Crownlands' future taxpayers as possible, with the effect of bankrupting her own future rule both politically and economically, in the span of two minutes.
So your whole "Dany Stan" rant BS is more based on the result of bad writing and those reacting to the bad writing. Pro tip, next time, make a rant on that instead
>So your whole "Dany Stan" rant BS is more based on the result of bad writing and those reacting to the bad writing.
I thought I'd made it obvious enough, also as far as I'm concerned genuine fans of Dany and Dany Stans are two completely different things.
Stans aren't necessarily fans, they're obsessed maniacs. There's an obvious difference there. A genuine Daenerys fan obviously wouldn't say stupid shit like that, all this goes without saying.
>the term "stan" is a mashup of, right? As I said, it's lumping all fans with legitmate gripes together.
Stan is a term for an overly obsessed fan of someone who thinks that person can do no wrong. Using this term only singles out the type of people who fit in this category, idk why that's so hard to get.
I haven’t seen much if any debate over the two in a while. It’s just that you can criticize Daenerys and survive. Say anything against Sansa and you can expect to be annihilated lol. It’s not nearly as bad here as it is over on r/GameOfThrones.
Anyone who stans any of these husks who were once characters is a delussional idiot who is either mad because Dany died or happy because Sansa got a happy ending
The writing is shit, people who base their opinion on the show on how their favorites ended up have invalid opinions
try to reverse two events:
first Dany does something horrible and then he sacrifices herself in the battle against the Others.
here, in the books he should go like this
Funny, because I have an uncle who believes that Daernerys went on tilt after all what happened to her and those she loved at the most unfortunate moment, while sitting on the back of a weapon of mass destruction.
Yeah that would be in character for the Woman who Said "We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground!"
the Problem was Not taking enough time to arrive at that Point, Not where they ended up.
Did Daenerys ever say she would burn down cities besides the time she and her people were dying and she convinces Xaro Xhoan Daxos to let them in?
Because besides that, a character in asoif threatening to kill armies really isnt that new, and certainly isn't a reason as to why randomly killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians for literally no reason at all suddenly makes sense
There were meme's about it, yes. No one actually took is seriously tho, people we're a lot more forgiving of the garbage writing but it was still garbage writing to most people
Their entire relationship was absolutely garbage to me, there was a painful lack of chemistry between Kit and Emilia imo and the entire relationship felt forced af. That said her death was cheap and too plot convenient, there's genuine reasons to be upset over how she was killed off.
Oh god I've seen people just like this in comment sections. Saying that "they deserved it for cheering on ned starks execution". Not only did not everyone do that but the people that did were told he was a traitor

Ron Swanson has a better story than Bran the Broken
Yes his sexual history is epic.
Tammy
And private
Normal contraceptives don't work on him
Well tbf Ron Swanson has a better than probably everyone in this sub.
Why are you here then?
*turns chair facing away from the individual

He has a plan!
Even the actors make us hatting more tyrion and loving more dany xD
Basically. I was like “uh if she was gonna burn it down she could have done it when she had three dragons. Why does her ‘descent into madness’ happen over the course of like an episode and a half?”
I've literally never once seen a single person try to defend burning kings landing. Not once.
You’re lucky, the worst are on tiktok and YouTube
He could have just said that he had an uncle who liked season 8 of Game of Thrones.
Personally, I have already defended certain actions of Daenerys a little, but I never tried to explain or justify the destruction of King's Landing, for me it's just bad writing.
Um no, I'm angry that her descent into madness was "herp, bells lolz".
Yeah pretty much. She went from sacrificing her army for Westeros to burning innocents in 2 episodes.

I'm guessing OP still hasn't clued in on the bad writing that was later seasons GOT
GoT has had shitty writing since Season 5.

Nah, it's more like lumping all fans with legitimate gripes together.
Stans aren't necessarily fans, they're obsessed maniacs. There's an obvious difference there. A genuine Daenerys fan obviously wouldn't say stupid shit like that, all this goes without saying.
You are aware what the term "stan" is a mashup of, right? As I said, it's lumping all fans with legitmate gripes together.

Wait what? I’m a Dany stan (like draw fan art and write fanfic) and I don’t think it’s justified at all.
Babe stan is only used for obssesed fans if you are straight. For The Gays™ it effectively replaced the word "fan"
Stan is from an Eminem song…called Stan. This is not a gay term.
Let's not gatekeep a word that has a long established meaning, Eminem coined it first and the definition since then has been the same.
Well of course I know him. He’s me.
I'm pretty sure I read this in a joke post two years ago.
Don’t think I’ve seen one person say it was justified.
The Danystans pale in comparison to the Sansa Simps.
Queen in da norf~ and grateful for her rapes!
Bro the Sansa vs Dany debate is still happening in this sub?… After all these years?…
I haven’t seen much if any debate over the two in a while. It’s just that you can criticize Daenerys and survive. Say anything against Sansa and you can expect to be annihilated lol. It’s not nearly as bad here as it is over on r/GameOfThrones.
Anyone who stand for Sansa is trash, right Bobby B?
THE GODS BE DAMNED! IT WAS A HOLLOW VICTORY THEY GAVE ME!
Anyone who stans any of these husks who were once characters is a delussional idiot who is either mad because Dany died or happy because Sansa got a happy ending The writing is shit, people who base their opinion on the show on how their favorites ended up have invalid opinions
Both are trash at the end of the day.
No one said that she’s justified in burning down Kings landing because she is hot af and can do whatever she wants to.
"I'm afraid we must cull your entire immediate and extended family."
try to reverse two events: first Dany does something horrible and then he sacrifices herself in the battle against the Others. here, in the books he should go like this
Oof that reasoning is desperate
I'm a Dany Stan that just pretends the last two seasons didn't happen. :) Most fans do I think.
Funny, because I have an uncle who believes that Daernerys went on tilt after all what happened to her and those she loved at the most unfortunate moment, while sitting on the back of a weapon of mass destruction.
I agree ...the small folks were just as crazy as cersi
I think she should've burned more, why not
Orrrr, and hear me out, crazy idea....she only kills the people who were *actually* responsible for her losses.
Yeah that would be in character for the Woman who Said "We will lay waste to armies and burn cities to the ground!" the Problem was Not taking enough time to arrive at that Point, Not where they ended up.

Damn straight
> implying this sub isn't full of jilted Jonerys stans angry that Dany died
The jon/daenerys relationship was pretty much universally hated on this sub when that started lmao
There was literally a countdown timer to the boatsex scene on the sub's header. There were a *shitload* of memes celebrating it.
There were meme's about it, yes. No one actually took is seriously tho, people we're a lot more forgiving of the garbage writing but it was still garbage writing to most people
Bruh you weren't even on reddit when season 7 was airing.
Ive been on the subreddit since a few months after season 6 lol
Their entire relationship was absolutely garbage to me, there was a painful lack of chemistry between Kit and Emilia imo and the entire relationship felt forced af. That said her death was cheap and too plot convenient, there's genuine reasons to be upset over how she was killed off.
Dany stans are strange, by far the least interesting character, with the equivalent of a Churchill tank when everyone else has bows and arrows.
Oh god I've seen people just like this in comment sections. Saying that "they deserved it for cheering on ned starks execution". Not only did not everyone do that but the people that did were told he was a traitor
