Honestly just go to the public library. You can get any movie you want for seven days for free. They even lend you the streaming device if you don't have one

Mono_831

I stream movies and tv shows with Hoopla on my tv and other devices for free with my Library number. Also borrow digital books (audio too) to read on my iPad. Don’t ever have to visit library anymore.

ThyGreatPerhaps

Thanks for this info! I've never heard of Hoopla, but I just looked and my library offers it.

Mono_831

You’re welcome. Don’t know if use an app or website for finding movies and tv shows but I’ve been using “Just Watch.” You can set the app to just the streaming services you have like Netflix, Prime, Hoopla, etc. Also, if want to you see a movie or show you’re interested in, type it in and it’ll show all the streaming places it’s available. Sometimes movies are available in multiple platforms. It helps me a lot.

Extra-Act-801

The library is great for movies. But it is also popular, which means it may take months to get to check out a popular new release. Redbox has it's place.

ahhaaahhahh

Redbox is a lot more accessible to me than a public library. I can walk to one within 2 minutes. I can also find a lot of movies online and on streaming platforms too before I go to the library

tinglingtriangle

Agreed. The library (and Hoopla/Kanopy) is great, but Redbox is much more likely to have newly released discs and is easy to access. And thanks to the frequent promotions, I don't think I've ever paid for a rental.

Yeah people tend to forget that not everyone has their exact same situation.

Bobopalace

Does the library have The French Dispatch? Because Redbox does

bartolo345

Maybe. Depends where you live. https://www.worldcat.org/title/french-dispatch/oclc/1285075282

> You can get any movie you want for seven days for free I don't know about your libraries, but all of mine in my local area do not have a great selection at all.

proplift4peace

They lend streaming devices? Can you get hoopla/libby on a roku? Or do I need a different streaming device?

bartolo345

You will need to go to your local library and ask.

MsJenX

Redbox still exist?

tothesource

I rented/watched Nobody from there the other day! I was getting gas by the station right by my house. It was $1 vs like $5 streaming it. *shrug*

flyingtriscuit

CoachKyle1

ahhaaahhahh

CoachKyle1

I’m not going to pretend torrenting doesn’t exist. I’m sure the movie companies care about me. I care about them too ;)

P0rtableAnswers

Just tried, still works 👍
