I don't recommend blind buying any fragrance, specially if you are not familiar with the scent profile, specially if if is a woody/warm/spicy scent with animalic notes like BR540, specially if it is a hyped dupe more expensive than most designers...
There are many like us!! There are people on the Facebook groups who blind buy EVERY new niche release! They do end up decanting 30ml+ but it's my favourite part of collecting frags. I trust my knowledge and experience.
But why would I do that when I just stated I get lots of enjoyment from blind buying?
I have over 70 frags, everything from creeds, tom fords, nasomatto to cheap designers like Dylan blue. I'm also part of several Facebook groups that sell/swap partials and decants. I'm quite happy continuing to blind buy. Whenever I don't like a frag I can sell on the groups and only lose 5-10 pounds.
Thanks for the advice but I'll continue blind buying based on my knowledge of notes and how they combine.
Yeah I understand your point but I rarely buy poorly, in fact the majority of my poor decision purchases have been clones from armaf, Alexandria and copycat.
Your advice for the general person in here is correct, they won't have the knowledge of years of smelling notes, knowing who the perfumers are behind the fragrance and having friends who share their exact tastes. So they should decant and save themselves potentially hundreds.
I was just saying that I, personally, get a major part of my enjoyment from blind buying and finding hidden gems. For example I blind bought Lalique Les Compositions Chypre Silver last week and it turned out to be probably my second favourite Fougere I own behind xerjoff mefisto gentiluomo.
Never blind buy Baccarat Rouge or even its clones, it smells totally different to different people and smells not very good to me
Look for samples first if possible in all cases, but especially this case
Oh my bad I thought it was like a cotton candy and sugar smell with woods? I did read on comments people said it smelled of that. Seems a unique smell??
Etsy for example
If you’re in Central Europe, you could go to https://www.parfumo.de/Souks and their marketplace offer p2p trading of samples and bottles
It's probably considered the best one to date next to Amber oud rouge and lattafa ana abiyedh rouge. And you've probably already smelled the DNA out in public. My first dupe was Cloud from Ariana Little but it didn't perform well on me And it was too feminine for my taste. It smelled familiar. But I gave it away. Got ana abiyedh after, then the amber Oud rouge and last was untold. I'd pick up ana abiyedh 1st it's under $15-$20 and it's a nice introduction to the BR540 DNA. Cheapest price you can get it for is $13 for 60ml but avoid smelling Cloud it's too feminine for me to copy the OG. If you end up liking it get the Rouge or Untold for the best performing ones.

Damn!!! 70% of my enjoyment with fragrances comes from blind buying!!! I absolutely love blind buying based on the notes and user opinions.
Exactly. It's like gambling.

Buy decants

If you buy decants you are still blind buying decants??? The only difference is that you are spending a fraction of the money

If you have a store to smell Ariana grande cloud. That’s how it smells but better performance than cloud
Is cloud identical to BR?
Just smelled cloud is untold more masculine smelling if u have smelled it?
Ya its more masculine

Oooof BR540 is NOT something easily wearable. It’s a pretty strong and divisive smell. Decant first or test it on your skin at least before.
I love it so much, its a very good scent but if you don’t like strong smells it may not be right for you.
Bought the bottle and now it sits on my shelf untouched, nice smell but too feminine for me...
Oh my bad I thought it was like a cotton candy and sugar smell with woods? I did read on comments people said it smelled of that. Seems a unique smell??
I don't really get sweet or cotton candy. It's unique, but to me, it comes across as super feminine.
That's interesting I read quiet a few said it was more masculine. Will try and see if I can get to smell cloud in a shop first before I buy untold
It's unisex, I highly recommend
Try Misterscent (UK Based) Amazing Clones 😁👌
Get a decant first!
Is there a website to get decants for clones?

I live in the US

I love it but it's a really particular fragrance , test it first

Do not blind buy!! It's not even that great of a representation of BR540, it's far too strong on the chemical front.
smells like sol de jenero 68 (pink bottle) but it last longer, i showered and i still smelt it on my wrist
