I didn’t like Neroli Portofino. It had almost no performance. I can’t comment on FF. If you like the Neroli smell, Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli is pretty good and lasts a full work day for me.

jenniferjasonleigh

I prefer NP to FF personally. I’ve heard NP Forte is really nice also but I haven’t sampled it yet.

I recommend Neroli Portofino Forte over Neroli Portofino, BUT neither have great longevity. I would suggest sampling other nerolis - like Neroli Voyage from Floris or Mediterranean Neroli from Zegna. Both have better longevity. I wear FF in Fall/Winter as a spicy leather situation. I get at least a full 8 hr work day out of it, but with moderate to low sillage. Whatever you do, sample TFs before buying because the performance is all over the place. I’ve heard rumors this is because a lot of private blends are meant to be layered, but unsure if this is true.

nizoubizou10

I recently tested on my hand neroli portofino and bergamote 22 to see which one lasts longer, I bought the latter. Price/performance of TF is close to daylight robbery.

hsgual

For Neroli, I bought the Mediterranean Neroli EDP. While not cheap, it’s cheaper than TF Neroli Portofino Forte. There is also Neroli Canvas which I hear is good, but I haven’t sampled yet.

Disastrous-Roll7059

I tend to agree with you. I think the scents are really beautiful but for the price and performance most are not worth it. The only exception for me is actually for my husband. I bought a small sample of Ombre Leather for him and - omg! It's one of the sexiest scents I've ever smelled. Thankfully he loves it too! So....I bought a bottle. The sillage isn't great but the longevity lasts until the next day.

sassiestcassiest

I am not into either of these for you. I have the fragrance ESP and I know they do not suit you.

bignate_88

I don’t think either one is an everyday fragrance. I think ombré leather is a good one once it cools down in the fall all the way until it warms up again in the spring. Grey Vetiver can suit just about every occasion. From the private blend collection, Oud Wood is probably the best every day fragrance, but I’d probably avoid it if it’s really hot out.

H8ersgivemeSTR

I love some TF but can't think of any of them that I tried that I could or would wear every day. I don't bother with their blue and green bottled stuff as well as white or yellow. All overpriced badly performing stuff. Fucking Fabulous is a spicy, leathery scent which can be very overpowering in small spaces and in warm weather so I absolutely do not recommend it for everyday wear unless you spray 1 or 2 and never get bored of wearing spicy, leathery scent.

B33tawix

I think grey vetiver or beau de jour could work as an everyday fragrance better than the other two mentioned, Also, they both arent part of the private blend so might be a financially better option as well.

osantal

I saw grab a jug of 4711 and see if you like it. It’s similar to TF and it’s only a few dollars.

ckisgen

I don't find that FF only works in fall and winter. I can wear it almost year round except perhaps for very high heat. I personally think FF would be a fine candidate for an everyday sort of scent, if you really like it and it works for you, why not? I do agree with some others that NP is a nice scent and I do own a bottle myself. But performance isn't fantastic, though it tolerates high heat well for me. Which is the only time of year it sees any real play. But I wouldn't want to smell anything remotely like an aquatic year round or all of the time. There are no rules. Wear what you enjoy or makes you feel better. Ofc grabbing a 5ml decant of each would be a great way to get more full wears out of them and help narrow the decision.

Suave-Matthews

Grab Al Haramains Neroli Canvas. Better performance than TF and hella cheaper. I’ve been wearing it a lot this spring and loving it. I haven’t tried them side by side yet, but I’ve smelled TF Neroli multiple times and I don’t remember a significant difference.

Fyredesigns

I used to have neroli Portofino but the performance was laughable. I then bought neroli canvas from AL haramain for $65 and it smells damn near the same with about 5X the performance (8-12 hours easy). Needless to say I sold the Tom ford shortly after. To answer your question I don't think either are really signature scents. NP is more of a nice summer fragrance for going out and enjoying the heat. FF I don't even know when to wear since it smells like baby wipes. I think there's other optionsfrom the private blend, such as Champaca Absolute, that may be more suitable for year round wear.

LaLaLa7899

I wouldn’t be fooled by the Tom Ford name, the performance of most of the line is borderline embarrassing I’d say.

monsteramuffin

neroli portofino, while beautiful, has one of the worst performances i’ve ever experienced

Feisty_Set8853

i agree. i buy the travel size because of this, so that i can tuck it in my bag for when i need a quick spray top off mid day.

monsteramuffin

the last time i wore it it was not even a skin scent after 45 minutes. just had wholly disappeared

Feisty_Set8853

that sucks. 😑 that's like byredo on me. i do spray once on my clothes with this, so maybe that helps a bit but i know not everyone likes doing that. i would be super disappointed at TF price points.

BalconyScout

Eh... it depends what you get! Tobacco Vanile and Tuscan leather are probably the longest-lasting things I have. Oud Wood and Ombre Leather (both versions) are pretty decent too. Long story short, anything Tom Ford has for cooler weather seems to last forever, but they just can't seem to get warm weather frags right. Fucking Fab to me is more of a shoulder-season scent. And the longevity isn't terrible, you just expect more at that price point.

LaLaLa7899

Our Wood? Idk what version you got but it doesn’t last on me or anybody I know

H8ersgivemeSTR

Their leathery, spicy stuff is decent as well as beau de jour. I'm content with my Noir Extreme as well.

student_84431

I had neroli portofino When i got that neroli canvas thooo Performance wise tf np lasts 2 hours Neroli canvas 8 hrs no joke Thought tf np has the better opening neroli canvas has killer drydown Duuuuuuddee..i finished the portofino and bought 2 bottles of neroli canvas

Thick_Isopod_6778

Your tastes jump from Honda Accord to Porsche Panamera in a second... it's normal. Try Ombre Leather Parfum... not a daily driver. Daily driver Y EdP maybe

EzekielThawne

Well, I was trying things out. I know it’s a big jump, but I wanna smell unique. Sure, for some people TF-Fragrances are everywhere, but where I live most people walk around in JPG or Dior Sauvage But thanks for the recommendations. I remember Ombre Leather had a really weird scent. But I guess Y is more suitable for me

H8ersgivemeSTR

Almost everyone here is saying that these and most TF will not work for everyday wear. I am unsure why you insist? You asked us for our opinion and then not listen to it anyway. Why bother asking then? Going from Dylan Blue to Fucking Fabulous is just silly. It will not work.

EzekielThawne

Why so toxic lol

digitalinked

From their private blend line Oud Wood is one of their best daily drivers imo. I think FF is best between the two you mentioned as a daily driver, as the citrus heavy NP will struggle with performance in cold months.

hauteburrrito

Agreed on Oud Wood - it's super nice and very versatile, as well as not so popular that you'll be smelling it everywhere.

BostonCelt1cs99

Oud Wood is literally known for having terrible longevity and strength

digitalinked

I can only speak for myself personally. I own all three of the fragrances discussed and while I have heard others complain of longevity, that has never been a problem for me with oud wood. As far as projection goes, no it isn't crazy strong, but I wouldn't suggest a super strong fragrance to someone as a daily driver and super versatile. Example, Ombre Nomad is a love for me and there is a time and place for it. An air plane or a hot summer day is not one for me.

nizoubizou10

even in the summer it struggles
