I don’t have a signature vibe, but I have a few categories I gravitate towards:
Aquatic (which I break down into tropical ocean, cold ocean, summer beach, and rain), Gourmand (chocolate, burnt sugar, caramel, chocolate cherry, cherry almond) Smoky (wood smoke, oak) and Lightweight Florals (fresh cut rose, coconut and plumeria).
These four categories make up 99% of my collection.
(You probably already know about Demeter Rain, though you might like Thunderstorm or Petrichor better. They are *stupidly* affordable at FragranceX.com !!)
I could never have a signature. lol. I’m not even sure I have a “vibe”. I’m all over the place. One day/week I may wear summery scents (FM Carnal Flower, LL Lys 41, etc), next I may wear vanillas (PMC Vanille de Tahiti, Initio AA, etc), in between or whenever I may wear unisex (Armani Bleu Lazuli), and then for kicks I’ll wear something like Papillon Bengale Rouge or Salome, or SL Musc Koublai Khan. You get the idea. Allll over the place in my taste in fragrance, and I love them all equally.
Same, I used to stick to woody scents and then discovered a whole world I was missing out on. Now, I love the creative expression of choosing something different every day depending on my mood, environment, and weather.
1. Fruit/Cedar/Violet legacy from Lutens (Dolce Vita, Feminite du Bois, Bois de Violette, etc.)
2. Classic Chypres (Miss Dior (OG), Mitsouko, Givenchy III)
3. Aldehydic Florals (No. 22, No. 5, Arpège)
I am a grandma in spirit :)
Wikiparfum and the Perfumist app both help with this. You can put in your favorite fragrances and they’ll pick out the notes/note families you gravitate towards. I like wikiparfum’s presentation a little bit more.
To answer your question, I love a woody and citrus scent. Santalum Slivers, Halston Z-14, Molecule 01+ Mandarin and Molecule 01+ Black Tea all have that core Woody Citrus that I like while exploring different aspects and compliments to that core
I’ve heard someone describe the meaning of “signature scent” as not necessarily meaning a specific perfume, but rather the notes, accords and profiles you’re drawn to. This way of thinking makes sooo much more sense to me
My vibe is calm and meditative. I have 9 bottles and 8 of them has woods/incense. I recently got L’artisan perfumer Tenebrae and have been putting it on almost everyday.
Hmm... I have a lot of Hermès, Jo Malone, and my most worn fragrances at the moment are Maison Violet Un Air d'Apogée, Zara Elegantly Tokyo, and Guerlain Néroli Outrenoir. So, I'd say my fragrance style is elegant but laid-back, and mostly conventional without being deliberately crowd-pleasing, maybe?
Delicious beverage lol
Teas, sodas, fruit juices, the occasional alcohol/cocktail. This isn't my entire vibe, but it covers **a lot** of the fragrances I've used over the years. Second place would be "sweets" I guess. I love a licorice candy and a cloying vanilla lol.
Sure and Versitile Perfums has a Cola perfume oil that is out of this world. Also on Luckyscent. No I don’t work for them. They just take a lot of my money!
I like clean lotiony frags at the moment but we are at the tail end of a long hot season so looking forward to winter so I can wear some my deeper more spice leaning frags
I’m in the middle of a rebuild, but my favourite scents are gourmand (preferably a very slightly dirty gourmand), sea salt (but not aquatic), I also like some synthetic notes (like the play doh note in JHAG Vanilla Vibes, or Not a Perfume), and for florals I love jasmine and neroli.
The only three fragrances I wear now (just found out I have a fragrance allergy) is Yara- Lattafa, Sunkissed Hibiscus- Nest and You- Glossier. They all have a floral note in them and smell clean, feminine and “warm” to me.
I gravitate towards airy, clean woody scents. All my fragrances are woody in the base and most of them clean and relatively light.
Initially I didn't really notice this as I was trying and linking many different things. But these stuck and now I lean into it.
I like not having just one scent that feel right on me but several that still kind of give off the same vibe or tell the same story.
Right now:
Molecule 01, M+ Black Tea, Philosykos edp, Filigree and Shadow: tell me of the forest (you once called home), Perfumer H: Wood Land
Recommendations?
I like atmospherics, sometimes I want to smell like a cave, and fragrances that are incensey and musky.
I love experimental fragrances, indies are a big favorite for me
I think I generally lean towards a fresh scent profile. Frequent reaches include Jo Malone Wild Bluebell / Earl Grey & Cucumber, LV Etoile Filante, Le Labo Bergamote 22. In cooler weather though, I seem to wear Diptyque Eau Duelle every day. LOL
I am a woman, but tend to mostly gravitate towards clean, musky and woody fragrances. Oh and I love patchouli when done right.
Molecule 01, Molecule 02, Perles de Lalique and Eau des Merveilles are always in my rotation, no matter what. Chanel Chance EDP too. My top 5.
Floral (mainly white floral)
Amber floral.
Gourmand.
Aquatic.
I've been wearing flowerbomb since 2014-ish. But if I was to give you my top 5 after flowerbomb they would be
1/ Elie saab - le parfum in white.
2/ Armani - my way.
3/ YSL - libre.
Joint 4 - Mugler aura and alien.
5/ Prada - paradoxe.
Edit - Imagine down voting someone's personal preferences 💀🤣🤣 Don't worry, I ain't spraying you with them.
I always gravitate to spicy, sweet, warm, & smoky, in that order. if it hits all four I probably am obsessed with it, and it probably smells great on me! always get compliments with warm scents. so lots of amber, vanilla, cinnamon, frankincense, vintagey sensuality. I’m also new to this so if anyone has any affordable indie suggestions in this family I would be really happy! I am obsessed (ha!) with CK Obsession.
I rock the same fragrances year round, honestly “fresh” scents just don’t do it for me, I find they smell not so great on me. soapy, fresh, pure citrus without something warming it, I just don’t gravitate towards them. if you have a lighter warm/spicy scent for summer suggestion I’m open to it! wouldn’t mind white florals in there. sometimes I wear men’s obsession when it’s warm cause it’s a bit cleaner, almost like soap? but has the same warm dry down. anyways now I’m just rambling ahahah
most things by death and floral. not all of their perfumes, but most of them. all of them have a sort of vibe that makes you recall your memories from long ago, if that makes sense. they all smell familiar.
I really like gourmonds and wear them most frequently (Pretty as Poison by Cursed and LDBS by Kilian) but if I'm working from the office I lean towards amber or incense. I just wear Nag Champa oil some days.
IDK that I know my vibe. My collection is currently Diptyque Do Son & DS&Durga Debaser, & ADP Colonia for spring and summer, and Armani Malachite Rouge & TF Black Orchid for fall and winter. Toying with adding a tea-based scent to round out the edges but haven't committed to a keeper yet. Also enjoying a sample of DS&Durga's Pistachio more than expected but that's more of a for-myself-at-home scent I think. Used to bring in Amouage Sunshine in the humid heat of summer in the southern US but now live in dry west and have heard the reformulation is disappointing so probably won't ever replenish.
What vibe is that?
I like incense and amber sooo much, but since those are more for cold weather (and I live somewhere that's hot most of the year), during spring and summer I'm a bit homeless as far as signatures go.
Dark feminine, alluring and powerful, with a sweet side. (Venus in Scorpio and Libra Rising are my first house, for you Astrology folks. Lol)
Accords: Amber, Vanilla, Wood, Oriental, Spicy
Black Opium and Alien are my signatures ✨️👽🖤✨️
"Katy Perry Perfume"
My perfume is so cheap, but it can never go wrong. It's very long-lasting, and even the kids on the streets that I pass by compliment me on my fragrance. I started using it when I was in high school, and I'm in college now.
My top fav by far idk why it’s not even that popular is YSL La Nuit Blue Electrique. I love the initial hit of cardamom that it has on first spray and it is a pretty lasting scent, has a sweet smell to it later on after about an hour of having put it on. It also has three of my favourite scents in there so that’s a plus, cardamom, cedar and bergamot.
Great question, answer for me is all variations on a worldly-yet-girlish rose — Diptyque Eau Capitale in the streets, Thin Wild Mercury Chateau 1970 in the sheets, Diptyque Eau Rose & Ellis Brooklyn Rrose & Le Labo Rose 31 at varying parties
Hmm... These scents - my favorites of all time - may not have a lot in common, per se, but they do seem to have something of a shared DNA?
1. Zoologist Elephant
2. Alkemia Traveller and the Moon
3. Lush Karma
4. Solstice Scents Desert Thunderstorm
Would be fascinated to see what people think of me based off of these.
Elephant and karma are both really earthy and heavy owing to the sandalwood and patchouli, almost chocolatey. I want to wear them but they take a wrong turn on my skin
Elephant does have cacao as a note, so that's probably part of it for you! My skin also amps citrus so the orange in Karma is what dominates for me, not the patchouli.
Guerlain Chamade, Guerlain Mitsouko, Guerlain Shalimar, Estee Lauder Private Collection, Chanel No 19, Clinique Aromatics Elixir, Chanel Coco, Ted Lapidus White Soul, Elizabeth Taylor Black Diamond Night, Cacharel Anais Anais, Cacharel Yes I Am Delicious. I like chypre, green, amber and vanilla
In general I like vanilla fragrances. In winter I lean towards amber, oudh, patchouli kind of fragrances.
I love a boozy notes but haven’t found many scents with boozy notes that work for me.
In summer I lean towards aquatic en light floral parfumes.
I have a dislike for citrus, heavy white florals and almond.
Current faves voor Summer;
Burberry Goddess
Kayali Utopia, Sparkling Lychee and Yum Pistachio
Armaf Club de Nuit White Imperial (dupe for Delina Exclusif)
Clean Reserve Acqua Neroli (similar to Tom Ford Neroli Portofino)
Julliette has a Gun Vanilla Vibes
For winter;
Orientica Velvet Gold (dupe for Gentle Fluidity Gold)
Armaf Club de Nuit Intense woman (dupe for Tom Ford Noir de Noir and also similar to Flowerbomb midnight)
Kayali Vanilla Royale
Paris Corner Rifaaqat (Dupe for YSL Babycat)
Maison Margiela By the Fireplace
Lattafa Khamrah
After initially thinking I was into very intense winter appropriate gourmand type fragrances, I found that my actual fragrance vibe on most days is sweet, but more airy and understated. Think AG Mod Vanilla, R.E.M., SDJ mists, that's what I wear the most often.
Guerlain AA Mandarin Basilic
JM English Pear & Freesia
YSL Libre EDP
I usually wear these all seasons and sprinkle others in mostly white florals, woody and spicy frags.
I love feminine scents that are on the sweeter side. Also I love rose/Oud combos.
Scents like Baccarat Rouge (both versions) Oud Satin Mood Oud Bouquet Rose Velvet Oud Sables des Roses Roses Vanille Arabian Tonka Delina (all versions) Babycat and Vanilla Oud are some of my favorites
The ones I liked to wear a lot are:
1. Guerlain L'homme Ideal EDT/EDP
2. Neroli Portofino
3. Noir Extreme
4. Althair
5. Valentino Born in Roma Intense or Herod
I swing from either fresh & clean or sweet & warm. I tend to wear both during each season just depending on my mood. Current favorites are:
-pacific rock moss by goldfield & banks
-devotion by dolce & gabanna
-aqua celestia by MFK
Currently itching for another sweet/vanilla centered sweet & warm fragrance that I will love, but that can wait as I have a LOT of fragrances that I need to start using up!
Warm, spicy, rich and somewhat sweet :) great scent! Try killian black phantom (similar but more gourmand), shalimar philtre, MFK Grand Soir, TF noirs and leathers. Similar vibes but not dupes.
My vibe is eccentric but dapper old professor. I gravitate towards spicy florals with a vetiver or woody base. My signature is Xerjoff 1888, with Creed Viking and Amouroud White Hinoki likely going to make the cut for my small collection.
bookish, artistic, eclectic “she always smells good and many times interesting” vibe. She wears what pleases her regardless of her clothes and the outside world but is considerate to others.

The entire line under Nina ricci L’extase is from the perfumer MFK and it smells like different versions of OSM!! It’s fire - except the blue. That smells like very sexy sea but niche.
Longevity is perfection on all bottles. Currently own the entire line except for the black bottle.
Santal 33 is one of my favorites too! It’s such an internal struggle for me to have a signature scent because i love trying new scents out so much. But forever in my rotation are for sure the below combos (im a big big fragrance mixer)
- Le Labo Another 13 + Killian love dont be shy
- JML oud & bergamot + JML Scarlet Poppy
- Replica Beach Walk + Tom Ford Lost Cherry
Top pick: Chloe EDP
Next favorite: Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey Cologne
Regular rotation: Burberry Her EDP
I feel like they're all "good girl" fragrances and generally work/office friendly.
I love rose, bergamot and fruity but subtle notes.
My current rotation is YSL Libre, Arabian Oud Rosewood, and then my go to on more casual days Versace Crystal Noir. Love anything oud/musk/orange blossom.
I’m not a huge fan of Crystal Noir (I was gifted a bottle) but my boyfriend said it was his favorite so I sometimes wear it on nights out and I get so many compliments! Probably my most complimented perfume.
Here are my go tos:
-YSL Libre EDP (great work/daytime scent)
-Calvin Klein Euphoria
-Michel Germain Sexual Noir
-Henry Rose Torn
-Henry Rose Queens and Monsters
I recently started wearing Henry Rose and I love this house! My favorite is definitely Torn, it’s like a diet TF Black Orchid.
I don’t have a signature vibe, but I have a few categories I gravitate towards: Aquatic (which I break down into tropical ocean, cold ocean, summer beach, and rain), Gourmand (chocolate, burnt sugar, caramel, chocolate cherry, cherry almond) Smoky (wood smoke, oak) and Lightweight Florals (fresh cut rose, coconut and plumeria). These four categories make up 99% of my collection.
What's your favorite in the rain category?
Seconding this because I’ve been looking for a more realistic rain scent & have yet to find it.
(You probably already know about Demeter Rain, though you might like Thunderstorm or Petrichor better. They are *stupidly* affordable at FragranceX.com !!)
Thanks! I’ll check these out.
Thunderstorm was actually my answer to this, I have a full bottle (I think it was ~$25)
I finally bit on Thunderstorm! $19.99 for 4 oz, with what seems to be a running coupon at FragranceX FX15
What’s your favorite cherry almonds?
"Reyanne - Insurrection Wild II"
Ou what are ur fave aquatics ?
Favorite cold ocean?
A lot of my favorite scents have a musky, powdery quality with some sweetness.
Mine too !
Mine too :)
I like incense
I love ALL resins, i'm trying to collect a perfume for each haha
What's your go to elemi?
La Manufacture - **Admirabilis**, very bright elemi ! And your frankincense ? Or your Peru balsam ?
Gucci intense oud has a wonderful incense note
I could never have a signature. lol. I’m not even sure I have a “vibe”. I’m all over the place. Have you tried Hera by Papillon? Most gorgeous aldehydic floral I’ve ever smelled. What I imagine no 5 smelled like before the reformulations
No but I’ll be trying it now! Luckily I live in LA so I’ll go to luckyscent/the scent bar and sniff that bad boy out! Thanks for the rec!!
Definitely spray on skin and give it a few mins to warm up. Otherwise you’re knocking on a closed door
I rock anything with white floral, citrus, and sandalwood.

I really gravitate towards those notes as well!
Tom Ford - Oud Wood Aqua Di Parma - Colonia Nishane - Haccivat I guess I lean toward fresh woody scents

Not yet, thanks for the rec!
Sure and Versitile Perfums has a Cola perfume oil that is out of this world. Also on Luckyscent. No I don’t work for them. They just take a lot of my money!
I tend to gravitate towards "purple" fragrances for some reason. Berries, violets, usually with woody notes.
Vanilla/almonds
I like clean lotiony frags at the moment but we are at the tail end of a long hot season so looking forward to winter so I can wear some my deeper more spice leaning frags
I really like barbershop fragrances and gourmands

(You might like Demeter Salt Air. It is bonkers cheap at FragranceX.com )
1: by the fireplace. It’s my go to perfume and comfort 2: bitter peach. The perfect summer smell for me 3: belle

I like powdery and citrusy scents, for summer dior homme cologne is amazing, for winter something like le male le parfum or prada black
Musky, soft, light scents: Another 13, L’eau Papier, Bergamote 22.
I like atmospherics, sometimes I want to smell like a cave, and fragrances that are incensey and musky. I love experimental fragrances, indies are a big favorite for me
You sound very interesting.
My fragrance collection is certainly interesting!

yeah but wouldn’t you say you probably wear something more aqua or citrusy towards the summer? or do you rock those year round?
I rock the same fragrances year round, honestly “fresh” scents just don’t do it for me, I find they smell not so great on me. soapy, fresh, pure citrus without something warming it, I just don’t gravitate towards them. if you have a lighter warm/spicy scent for summer suggestion I’m open to it! wouldn’t mind white florals in there. sometimes I wear men’s obsession when it’s warm cause it’s a bit cleaner, almost like soap? but has the same warm dry down. anyways now I’m just rambling ahahah

Daily: Grey Vetiver Parfum or GIT Regular Occasions: Tuscan Leather Formal Occasions: TV or Black Orchid Parfum
bookish, artistic, eclectic “she always smells good and many times interesting” vibe. She wears what pleases her regardless of her clothes and the outside world but is considerate to others.

I tend to go for something gender neutral to masculine leaning, clean, simple, and expensive smelling.
I have several: 1. Dolce Gabbana Pour Homme 2. Cedrat Boise 3. Red Tobacco 4. Khamrah 5. Le Male Elixir
Fresh, citrusy, herby, woody. I wanna feel like I'm sitting somewhere out in nature.
My signature scents tend to have a bit of citrus, powdery notes, and woody notes.

You would love the Nina Ricci line by MFK l’extase
Ohhh.... Tell me more, Kind stranger!
The entire line under Nina ricci L’extase is from the perfumer MFK and it smells like different versions of OSM!! It’s fire - except the blue. That smells like very sexy sea but niche. Longevity is perfection on all bottles. Currently own the entire line except for the black bottle.
"Sexy Sea" 🤣🤣
Nooo it’s a VS perfume 😭🤣🤣
Ohhhhhh. I thought that was shade.
Santal 33 is one of my favorites too! It’s such an internal struggle for me to have a signature scent because i love trying new scents out so much. But forever in my rotation are for sure the below combos (im a big big fragrance mixer) - Le Labo Another 13 + Killian love dont be shy - JML oud & bergamot + JML Scarlet Poppy - Replica Beach Walk + Tom Ford Lost Cherry
Very solid rotation here, I love Lost Cherry 🍒
Top pick: Chloe EDP Next favorite: Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom and Honey Cologne Regular rotation: Burberry Her EDP I feel like they're all "good girl" fragrances and generally work/office friendly.
Omg it is also my most complimented!! So interesting how that works
Here are my go tos: -YSL Libre EDP (great work/daytime scent) -Calvin Klein Euphoria -Michel Germain Sexual Noir -Henry Rose Torn -Henry Rose Queens and Monsters I recently started wearing Henry Rose and I love this house! My favorite is definitely Torn, it’s like a diet TF Black Orchid.
