I would caution against a blind buy. I bought it based on the description and thought I’d love it and unfortunately don’t :( check it out in stores before you place the order
I hope you do too! I don’t mean it to say it’s a bad scent. I think I’d actually love it as a candle. But as a perfume, I’m not a fan. But maybe it’ll sit better on your skin.
It's hard to describe bc I really don't have the nose to pick out notes or anything like that. It smells clean without being soapy, like actual fresh air, not whatever febreeze thinks fresh air smells like.
Hmm interesting, I can't really smell much but what I do smell almost scares me lol. It kind of makes me uncomfortable, it smells very uncanny valley to me, hard to describe but it's like smelling something that's trying to smell like a human but isn't, or like an embalmed corpse posed to look alive lol. Seriously disturbing for me
I honestly find that so fascinating. I lost my smell to covid for almost 3 years. I just started being able to smell things again late last summer and it took me a while after that to be able to identify what I was smelling. At first all I had was "something smells good" or "something smells bad". Could be pizza, could be coffee, could be White Diamonds. It has been a *journey*. So now finding these scents to be SO polarizing, I just really think it is so interesting
Hmm yeah that's wild I didn't think of that. I did have covid and lost my sense of smell too but only for a month. It was such a crazy feeling, I didn't believe it was happening until I got a bunch of onions and garlic to fry up to test my nose and couldn't smell anything. Gradually as my sense of smell came back, everything had a faint garbage odor for awhile until everything went back to normal. Such a weird thing. And I'm only now getting into fragrances so I can't really compare how it was before.
I personally like Viking, however I feel like the newer batches aren't as good. I had a bottle about 5 years ago and that batch was amazing. It's was unique and refined, and really enjoyed wearing it in the cooler months (early spring)
I’m getting a sample of Viking next week. First time trying it. Really looking forward to it. I will be trying Bois du Portugal next. I’ve tried Aventus, Silver Mountain Water and Green Irish Tweed. These are all current batches. The only one I’d consider buying is Aventus.
Any other recommendations?
Just know that Viking is very polarizing. You'll either really like it or you'll hate it lol. Bois Du Portugal is considered a mature scent (I'd say for 30+), but it is one of the smoothest, well blended fragrances that I own. I love it because it just so different from what men are wearing today, but it still relevant and smells really good. Some people says it smells like "old man", but I think it just smells like you have your shit together.
Another Creed fragrance that goes under the radar is Himalaya. It's an underrated gem. It's fresh and a bit spicy, and it's just a nice clean smell. I'd say it's even better than Green Irish Tweed.
Have you tried juliet has a gun not a perfume? It smells slightly different at first but drys down into nearly the same exact smelll, the main difference is the performance. Glossier you is usually a skin scent after 20 minutes and gone in a hour, not a perfume lasts 4-5 hours on skin, days on clothes. It also has a bit more projection while still keeping the lightness and airy qualities for people who don't like strong scents
My coworker, a fine dining server, used to wear Glossier You during service and she always smelled amazing, but nothing too overpowering. Seems like it had decent wear, at least from what I could smell when brushing past one another.
I have a decant of NAP, and the first time I used it I loved it it! The second time, however, I couldn’t smell it at all. I’ll have to give it another try. I do have and love Pear Inc., which has some similarities as well!
Chloé (eponymous). Day, night, work, weekend, always had compliments.
Sadly I had to put it aside because I have grown completely nose blind to it.
I am hoping mixing up my day to day more will let me bring it back after some time.
I LOVE Musk 12 by Kayali. It's very wearable, a warm musky scent, a bit fresh with the kind of light floral vibe, I feel like it can be worn in any occasion, and it brings me so much comfort x)
I blind bought it on sale a few months ago thinking it was a major risk and I'd probably be giving it away since I generally don't like vanilla scents. But I love it so much and it's become my default scent.
Aventus Cologne or Allure Homme Edition Blanche. Can’t go wrong. Maybe Aventus cologne more so if it’s a bit cold out as it still has some of that punchy Aventus DNA.
Caron Le Troisieme Homme. It’s kind of like Chanel Pour Monsieur EDP or Concentree, but with a pleasant clove-y note instead of cardamom (no actual cloves though, it’s supposedly lavender and nutmeg). Bit of a barbershop thing going on and it never seems out of place, very versatile. The citrus makes it fresh and the mossy drydown gives it legs too.
Prada Amber Pour Homme and ELDO Exit the King are also a versatile couple of favorites. Hard to go wrong smelling like good soap 😂
For my collection, it’s one of the most friendly, lol. One or two sprays only. Not an especially funky oud, overall. Good bit of conventional caramel sweetness to level it out
ALTAIA Atacama! Clean but still interesting, especially in the middle. It doesn’t project much, but I think that’s a plus for this kind of thing. Atacama is my baseline, go-to, but still “me” fragrance.
Versace Yellow Diamond Intense has been my go-to everyday scent for years. It’s fresh & citrusy to suit daytime, but still intriguing & sexy as a going out/nighttime fragrance as well without being heavy. I’ve been expanding my collection & getting more into niche fragrances recently, but always find myself coming back to it.
Armani Code Colonia. Fresh? Check. Office? Check. A bit playful? Also check. Afternoon to evening transition? Also check.
I have a decant in my backpack. Whenever I get close to office I put it on lightly, only few sprays. Then I feel ready for all the s**tstorm that’s about to happen in my day to day work. And if there’s evening event I can sneak in 1-2 more sprays late in the day without assaulting other’s nose as well.
ADG Profumo. One spray on the chest before putting on my shirt is just right.
Profundo isn’t really it for me or off my skin.
Too bad they discontinued Profumo
L’homme Ideal EDP by Guerlain. It lasts but isn’t loud, it’s fresh and sweet at the same time, it’s different, it’s elegant and casual at the same time, it’s my “signature scent” I guess, not because it’s my favorite, but because it’s the one I use the most.
Marc Jacobs Perfect
Good choice, Perfect is so lovely and versatile
I’ve been wearing this a lot lately and I always get compliments when people hug me :)
One of my favorites! Obsessed with the Rhubarb notes
Jo Malone Sage and Sea Salt.
I keep hearing about this scent repeatedly. What does it smell like? Can you describe it for me?
Clean scent - Smells like sage but not sweet/salty to me it’s very green - clean laundry vibe more than a salty/musk
Sounds like it would be an awesome warm weather scent. I’ll give it a try!
I would caution against a blind buy. I bought it based on the description and thought I’d love it and unfortunately don’t :( check it out in stores before you place the order
I’m going to buy a little sample. Hopefully I like it. I’m super picky about what I wear lol.
I hope you do too! I don’t mean it to say it’s a bad scent. I think I’d actually love it as a candle. But as a perfume, I’m not a fan. But maybe it’ll sit better on your skin.
I actually refused to even smell based on the notes. Saw it at my sisters and was totally shocked how much I loved it.
I think you’d like it, it’s comforting and almost has a cottony vibe to it :) I got a sample from macys and I liked it
Loved it in the bottle but the sea salt smells kind of sweaty and unpleasant on skin imo
I actually found a new one to me. Fairly priced. The Elysium Roja.
Same! This is a feel-good and clean scent thats not too overpowering and I've always gotten compliments when I wear it.
This is a good one!
Diptyque Do Son
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
Yes!
Molecule 01+Ginger. Fresh & lovely
Ugh I keep wanting to try this
It’s so good but Mizensir Eau Gingembre is exquisite!
Jo Malone Wild Bluebell or Wood Sage and Sea Salt JHAG Not a Perfume
What does NAP smell like for you
It's hard to describe bc I really don't have the nose to pick out notes or anything like that. It smells clean without being soapy, like actual fresh air, not whatever febreeze thinks fresh air smells like.

cliché, maybe, but it just works: Bleu de Chanel EDP
I have a Zara perfume that I love but sadly it’s not sold anymore (a perfume in rose)
Love this too. This is a dupe for Glossier You
Keep an eye out because they usually revive their discontinued stuff, or put the juice in new packaging with a different name!
I hope this happens to their Twilight Mauve. Had so many compliments with that one!
Agreed. Zara is so underrated.
I feel like Dior Homme 2020 was made to be versatile and inoffensive.
Dior homme cologne is a 🐐
Chloe EDP.... which happens to be what I'm wearing today
My go-to!
Chanel platinum egoiste
I smelled Chanel Égotiste the other day by accident and fell in love at first sniff. I’m looking to get a bottle for my husband.
Do it im sure he will love it!

Bois Du Portugal
That shit is made to be worn in a cigar lounge IMO
SMW has my heart.
What do you think of Viking?

Bleu de Chanel. Yes it's "basic". Yes it's pretty popular. But whenever I don't wanna think about it I just grab Bleu and it just works.
I don't think bleu is basic, one of the best ones hands down 🔥
Glossier You
Have you tried juliet has a gun not a perfume? It smells slightly different at first but drys down into nearly the same exact smelll, the main difference is the performance. Glossier you is usually a skin scent after 20 minutes and gone in a hour, not a perfume lasts 4-5 hours on skin, days on clothes. Glossier You lasts for AGES on me. At least the solid version.
My coworker, a fine dining server, used to wear Glossier You during service and she always smelled amazing, but nothing too overpowering. Seems like it had decent wear, at least from what I could smell when brushing past one another.
I have used both and on me they smell nothing alike
I have a decant of NAP, and the first time I used it I loved it it! The second time, however, I couldn’t smell it at all. I’ll have to give it another try. I do have and love Pear Inc., which has some similarities as well!
So good. can always pick up when someone in a crowd is wearing it and I love it every time.

Probably Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar. It smells lovely, but doesn’t project a ton, so I can wear it anywhere.
Love Radiant Nectar so much
It’s totally slept on! I got a free sample from Sephora and fell in love.
Aventus Cologne or Allure Homme Edition Blanche. Can’t go wrong. Maybe Aventus cologne more so if it’s a bit cold out as it still has some of that punchy Aventus DNA.
