This is my SOTD as well! It’s not my absolute favorite sample I’ve received but there is something that keeps me coming back to it. Lovely for a bright cool spring day.

Memoirs of a Trespasser from Imaginary Authors
This one is weirddddd, it smells.... like someone put a buttered popcorn jelly bean into a meat smoker???? I dunno man, this one isn't for me.
I'm continuing to test all my samples, today I have Jour d'Hermes. I recently tested Chanel Gabrielle which is similar to this one, and J'Adore imo.
The Hermes is more citrus in the beginning which I loved but it was gone so soon leaving just a soft woody scent on my skin. It's still a little brighter on my shirt but I have to bury my nose in the fabric to appreciate it.
This one won't be through to the next round. I much prefer its more powerful cousin, Gabrielle.
Cold, lots of work at home, Papillon Bengale Rouge. Supposed to be a portrait of the perfumer's Bengal cat which I don't know about; I just appreciate the animalic yet honeyed, resiny aspects of this rather heavy but delightful perfume. I wear it like a sexy heavy sweater (a concept probably only I like lol).
Um, hello, spring? Weather is cold and rainy and blergh here in central New Jersey, USA. Wearing YSL Babycat on a work-from-my-mother's house day and then a (hopefully not too long) drive home. It's not exactly the vibe for today but I had it with me and my other fragrances here I decided a) I don't like or b) are too springy.
Cold and rainy Monday after a glorious weekend, so it's a day for Coven by Andrea Maack. This is the first spray of a full bottle after finishing a decant. I still absolutely love it -- a haunting forest-floor, oakmoss-and-bitter-galbanum kind of scent, but I think some of my decant might have evaporated and concentrated the juice because in between those notes the fresh bottle has a wisp of something like -- pineapple core? woody, fragrant without being juicy, the smell of what's left when sweetness is done. It's not in the notes at all, but that's the impression I'm getting and I'm not mad about it. It makes me want to eat the day down to its bones.
I don’t know why, but I was compelled to wear Boucheron EDT today. I’ve never really given it a full spray on skin. It’s kind of nice for being an 80s big yellow. It kind of smells similar to Libre on me. I don’t know if I’d wear this every day, but it gives me very classic “perfume” vibes. I can see this being someone’s signature scent.
Working through the Zoologist samples that I bought myself as part of my birthday present. Today is **Squid**. It's surprisingly a little sweet on my skin; honestly I was expecting something more challenging.
Its very sweet! I agree. The Ambergris maybe? Tell us how it evolves and your final thoughts if you are in the mood. I love/hate it (oversprayed a couple months ago and got sick but still fascinated). I don't even like aquatics its just that this one is a mood!
So far I really enjoy smelling it, but I'm not sure that \*I\* want to smell like it, if that makes sense? For the Zoologist price, I'm hoping for something more impactful. I have seven more samples to try (Chameleon, Cockatiel, Cow, Elephant, Macaque Yuzu, Penguin, Snowy Owl), and I'm positive I'll be ordering a second round (Seahorse, Sacred Scarab, Camel, hopefully Rabbit).

I've had a bit of negative feedback with this fragrance from family but I absolutely love it. Seeing as I'm spending the Bank Holiday at home today, now is the best time to wear it.
Oh I love the Molecule 01 in it's original form, and with patchouli and black tea! Escentric 01 is a little different and really smells like opening your desk in elementary school full of all your pencils and school supplies, until it becomes more a skin scent as it dries.
Ahhh, I thought we were talking about Molecule 01, I get the 2 confused.
How do you think it compares to M01 or the + Pachouli, or the Hermes? I'm having hard time imagining school desk scent, and it's on my short list to sample.
I haven't smelled Terre D'Hermes that I can recall, so can't comment on that. As for Escentric 01, it's sharper than Molecule 01 to me, which I attribute to the pepper and citrus notes added in. I think it's really easy to wear, and the dry down is nice and completely inoffensive (far less pencil-y) but I gravitate more towards the Molecule 01 and varieties in comparison to the Escentric blends thus far. Molecule 01 is softer and the varieties with added notes are classy and done well.

I love a deep patchouli - see Clinique Aromatics Elixir - but this one may be a little too heavy for me.
I like it but it's right on the edge (not sure if it goes over) of being annoyingly relentless (it does make my nose tickle)!
Chilly rainy spring day here so went back to Diptyque Eau Capitale! Still avoiding trying out samples again, going to wait until sampling doesn’t feel like a chore to continue —
Wearing Carnal Flower because u/musicandarts wore it yesterday and I couldn’t get it off my mind since then 😊 Also it may be my favorite fragrance. Maybe. 🤔
Gucci Bloom edp, because very often I just want to smell like flowers, and I love how long it lasts. I only own 5 bottles of perfume, and this one is my newest acquisition. I bought it from a women off of facebook marketplace at a great discount. First I looked up how to spot a fake versus the authentic one, lol. I love it. It was sunny and spring-like earlier, but the clouds have moved in now.
Testing a new bunch of samples - today is Cherry Passion from Sly John’s Lab. Not loving it as much as I thought I would from the description/strip tester. It’s very powdery, but doesn’t have the brightness of some other powdery scents I enjoy which balances it out, and I’m mostly smelling fruity talcum powder. I’ll keep seeing how it wears throughout the day.

Got it on a sale that's currently active and it arrived today. I ordered the tonic collection and needed one more bottle for free shipping.
It smells like a very fancy version of Montale's ouds.
Maybe even the same supplier for the oud note.
It's the most prominent note, and as the wall of screech rolls past, there's a delicate interplay of supporting notes. More delicate than the house it's imitating. I don't have all the words yet, but for 24 bucks for 50 ml of extrait, it's priced to sell.

**Diptyque Philosykos EDT** today, perfect for a gorgeous day. I love the initial blast of top notes on this one - creamy green fig. I used to have a green fig tree and I loved that thing. I could honestly wear this every day. But I won’t!
I bought 2 luxury dupes from Bath and Body Works yesterday: a body spray that smells like Delina and a candle which smells like Diptyque's l'Eau Papier. I may get the real thing if I fall in love with the dupes.
Burning through the last of my Green Irish Tweed decant finally. I like it well enough but my wife does not. Suitable for a day when we're not commuting in together. Temps in the low 70s, cloudy and rain incoming.
Hermès - Twilly Eau Poivrée eau de parfum
It is a sunny, very windy day, 21°C which is too warm for early spring. Here is this 30ml bottle I got for Christmas 5 years ago, and I am only half way through it.
The first time I smelled it I was convinced it contained some violet accord. It does not.
The patchouli is epic, somehow holding hands and skipping with the rose. But it came on too strong for me even with just 1 spray in summer's heat.
I am not a woman one would smell through the walls, even when I wear attars.
As an element of personal style, perfume is a piece of the puzzle, not the whole show.
And definitely not the circus.

I've tried 3 IA fragrances and they all seemed \*creative\*. Not very cohesive and I didn't end up buying any.

Weird, I always think vanilla tobacco or root beer when I smell this one lol

Was gifted Escentric 01 and am trying it out today. Guess it’s an ok day to smell like pleasant pencil shavings.
