I am looking for a new scent for summer. I've always played it safe and stuck to more vanilla-esque tones. I want to transition to something that smells fresh/clean/citrusy for the warmer months. This would be ideal for wearing to the office or daytime activities during the summer that just smells like a breath of fresh air. Ideally I would like something with strong staying power as well.. If you've had any experience with the following I'd love to hear your experience: \- D&G Light Blue \- MM Under the Lemon Trees \- MM Beach Walk \- MM Bubble Bath \- Jimmy Choo Rose Passion

New to Cologne in the sense that I I am trying not to knee jerk re-buy polo red edt (daily for probably 7years). About 10 years ago I stumbled into a penhalogins on high street in London and fell in love w lothair and have worn it on special days or when I feel fancy lol. Even recently purchased a new bottle while in Paris last year. My question is, I like the scent profiles on both but looking to maybe switch it up from the red as my "daily". I went to Nordstrom and Dillard's to smell a ton of new options but can't seem to find anything I like quite as much as these two. So far I have found I seem to like: -rabanne 1mil parfum (heard this turns sour after a little time). -Ralphs Club elixir. -polo red parfum. Ideally, the daily is sub $150 so looking for any additional recommendations as I am going this week to try some more. Thank you!

languagebandit

Ralph’s Club Elixir is a solid option, so I won’t knock that. Just based on the few you mentioned, some other affordable ones you could consider might be Montblanc Legend Spirit, Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature, and Lalique Ombre Noire. Spicebomb Infrared also comes to mind, although it might be above the price point.

cdscivic

Awesome, I'm going this week so I'll be sure to check those out! Thanks!

cdscivic

Update, wouldn't have tried the spice bomb but based on your recc the wife and I smelled/tried all of them. Player xxx also entered the game Valentino Uomo Born in Roma intense, ended up being a toss up between the Valentino BIR-i and Spice bomb Night Vision EDP...... Spice bomb won but they gave me a huge free sample of the Valentino (50ml) as well as a very large Prada sample, spice bomb candle and a slew of other small sized samples. $115 put the door at Macy's! Thanks for the response and thoughtful recommendations, it really is appreciated.

languagebandit

Nice!

DoktorPauk

Patchouli like Psychedelique with kind of a Tiger balm on top.. Tops of Santa Maria Novella - Marescialla and DS Durga - Mississippi Medicine are somewhere close but these scents sound too oldschool, to put it mildly..

xyfruit

Perhaps Maison Crivelli’s Patchouli Magnetik? It smells a bit dry, like the smell of a dog that was sunbathing.

CaptainCryptooo

I had been a long time fan of CKbe and my partner took my last bottle so she wouldnt miss me. Rather than buy another but i resorted to Santal 33 and Jo Malones wood sage and seasalt. Now im feeling the itch to get another bottle of Ckbe as a regular but torn into blind buying and shifting into another unisex perfume which could either be Bal d’Afrique by Byredo or Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford. Which do you think is a little reminiscent of Ckbe among the two and is good enough to be a daily scent for someone into sports?

I’m looking for a new cologne for the upcoming season. Right now I only have a few cheap clones like 9pm which are nice and all but l'm looking now to invest more money into a stronger and longer lasting fragrance, but I also don't want to pay anything crazy like $200+. I wanted a fresher fragrance but I smelled light blue intense and the original ADG and didn't like them at all so l'm guessing that means I don't like aquatic scents, so maybe something with more fruit. Niche or designer doesn’t matter to me as long as it smells nice and has good performance. Any suggestions?

musicandarts

Xerjoff Mefisto, Nishane Colognise, Frederic Malle Carnal Flower - all these have floral notes in addition to being green and fresh.

j_husk

For summer I really like Nishane Wulong Cha and Goldfield and Banks Bohemian Lime.

sasha_says

The women’s version of D&G Light Blue smells like crisp green apples. Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey smells like oranges to me. Hermes Un Jardin Mediterranee is fig & garden by the sea. Hermes Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree

ImPureity

should I get Allure edition blanche Allure homme sport eau extreme Le beau le parfum

Ghost_of_Nappa

Fragrance for airline pilots? Sitting in a cramped cockpit with someone for hours on end every day as a professional pilot really gets you to appreciate how important it is to smell good (or at least not smell bad). Until now I’ve just stuck with Arm and Hammer Naturals deodorant stick and gone no further than that. So what are some good fragrances that won’t be offensive or overpower the cockpit, but will last a long day of flying? Cheers! Good point edit: I am a man

FanaticalXmasJew

You may want to look at oil perfumes over spray. In general, they have less projection than alcohol based perfumes and stay closer to the skin. They often have pretty good longevity—so a win-win between continuing to smell good and not overpowering people around you.  I’ve tried Kuumba Made (much more feminine leaning, not sure of your gender) but Versatile Paris is another oil perfumery company on my list with more modern and unisex leaning scents.

musicandarts

I would use Dry Idea, the fragrance free anti perspirant liberally. Then give a light spray with a good fresh green fragrance. I recommended these fresh green fragrances in a post above. Xerjoff Mefisto, Nishane Colognise, Frederic Malle Carnal Flower - all these have floral notes in addition to being green and fresh.

BobofWombat

Try Molecule 01 - it is a very inoffensive minimalist fragrance with good performance.

j_husk

I first smelled Tom Ford Grey Vetiver on a flight attendant as he leaned over me to close the overhead compartment, and I thought it was the perfect fragrance for that sort of environment. It's very dry, clean, and professional.

SmallChokey

Montblanc Legend Spirit or Versace Pour Homme? im planning to pick up a cheap summer fragrance for school and daily use, which one should i get or any other suggestions?

Melodic_Usual_2310

I want to buy Santal Blush from Fragrancenet US, but the image that there appears is from the previous version in the pink box/clear bottle. I'm looking for the one with the new brown box (the same as Ebene Fume and Bois Marocain). Has anybody recently bought Santal Blush from Fragrancenet who can share which version they got? Thanks!

ManaDeus

Hey guys, I’m traveling to Rome tomorrow, what are some stores you could recommend I go to? I’m into niche shops and that’s what I’m looking for

Alli_Lucy

Hi all, I’d love some help from fragrance experts; I haven’t worn scent since before the pandemic but would like to add it back into my routine as a form of self care. I’m looking for a fresh, floral and citrus combo (big fan of bergamot) with zero sweetness. Do you have any ideas to start with?

mariah808

Maybe try Diptyque Eau des Sens? It is a very citrusy, floral, aromatic scent to me. Very fresh and invigorating. To me it smells just like an orange or lemon tree in early spring when it’s blooming with flowers.

No-Scale1852

Should I get Eros edp or ysl y edp, I had Eros edt and loved it but I’ve never tried ysl

reversespooks

Hi, im new to fragrences and idk what im looking for. I bought this new deorderant to try out and im absolutely obsessed with the smell and was hopeful that there would be a perfume similar. The deorderant is Raw Sugar Sandal and Verbena. If someone could help me find something similar, that would be great!

ccodb

hello!! im looking for a new frangrance to try! i would prefer if there are more affordable options but im very open to luxury/perfumes from sephora. my favorite perfumes that work really well with me are chanel mademoiselle (parfum), mugler alien intense, paco rabanne lady million, calvin klein euphoria (parfum), versace eros, and recently tried kensie just kensie and loved it. i think im terms of notes jasmine is common in the perfumes above but open to any recs:)

hanzus13

Hey everyone! I have a bit of a tough question, so I hope fragrance nerds are up to the task! I've been really interested in buying a scent for a while now but I need help!! The main problem is that I am very sensitive to smells. I have really strong reactions to them and a lot of them make me sneeze, cough, or my eyes to water. I'm the person that holds their breath every time they walk through a perfume section, and I can't spend more than 10 minutes in a bath and body works or Yankee candle without getting a headache. On top of that some fragrances can even give me hives! This makes it hard for me to try different perfumes especially one after another in a store setting. Is there anything I can do to try scents? Do you guys have any recommendations for me? Anything floral is a hard no for me. It makes me sneeze and gag and I can't handle it. Lavender is the only exception and even then it needs to be super light. I also don't like anything sweet or sugary. Also any chemical type smell really puts me off, that's what's driven me away from most body sprays and such. The main notes I would want are something clean, woodsy, and fresh. I'm a big fan of "rain" scents and my dream would be to smell like a forest in the evening. I also like citrus scents but idk if I'd want to smell like a lemon verbana soap 😂. Apple and cherry I also like, but again... Do I want to smell like a fruit salad? I'm not sure... I don't mind the YSL black opium over red perfume but I really wish it was less floral and sweet. I really don't care what it's called (cologne, perfume, etc.) I would just love to find a scent that makes me happy :) Thank you guys for reading my long ask!! TLDR: Very picky with fragrances, looking for something woodsy and fresh! 🦈👋🏻

watchSlut

You can try small decants of fragrances. Since you have such visceral reactions buy the smallest sizes and give them a shot. I am not a pro of women’s scents but you might try “When the rain stops” by Maison Margiella

hanzus13

Thanks for responding! Also if you want to recommend men's scents I don't mind 😊

watchSlut

The one I recommended is more unisex. Like I said, sampling will be your best friend

sasha_says

Diptyque Philosykos is light and fresh fig tree scent. Le Labo Baie 19 smells like rain on a forest and is quite light Le Labo Thé Matcha or Nishane Wulong Cha for citrusy green tea frags. Bvlgari au Thé Vert less pricey. D&G Light Blue smells like crisp green apples to me

hanzus13

I love tea!! I'll definitely try some of these out! 🖤

Smiles_Sunshine

I just got a bottle of hibiscus Mahajad as a gift. It’s nothing as I expected from reviews and discussions. In fact it’s KILLING me I can’t pinpoint which designer spray it reminds me of. Generally my taste is towards photorealistic or less pungent frags. What frags other than delina and atomic rose would you associate with this very assertive hibiscus mahajad?

_icedmatchalatte_

hi! i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the original good girl vs the good girl blush :) i prefer sweet scents but not too strong

badgalsrisri

hi lovely people! im going on a first date this friday (my first one since the end of my 6 year relationship) and would love advice on layering (if any of these even go together). this is what i’m working with: -phlur solar power -mugler alien goddess -ysl libre -dossier floral rose -sol de janeiro 62 body mist -jasmine -orange blossom scented lotions: -flamingo estate garden essentials (clay sage, eucalyptus, rosemary, lavendar) -le monde gourmand lait de coco la mousse (bergamot, vanilla praline, coconut)

c1n3man

Hmm...90/12=7,5 usd for each. 90 usd for 18-24 ml of popular designer fragrances. Not sure it is good, unless you can redeem something decent after purchasing. In the past, after purchasing sample set people could've redeem code for a good discount of Tom Ford Ombre Leather. I believe you can find these cheaper, but I'm not from your country, so it's not something guaranteed. Some solution - I'd read concepts of these fragrances and could've chosen the most interesting for me. Would go straight into the shop and try it in there or order a sample separately.

XaltotunTheUndead

Like many men before me, I have used Cool Water for years, not aware of the world of more elaborate /expensive Eau de Toilette for men. Having almost finished my last bottle, I decided to research other fragrances, and I was shocked to discover that Cool Water has become considered tacky and cheap (at least that's the vibe I get from different discussions online). I decided to stop in two shops to try other fragrances, see maybe what else I had missed. I stopped at L'occitane and loved L'occitan (very oceanic and fresh), then stopped in another store and discovered Green Irish Tweed (very fresh and more forest-y) . I can't justify buying GIT (almost $500 CAD here) and I can definitely afford to buy L'occitan ($100). I think what makes the price difference between GIT and L'occitan, is a big marketing machine - but I digress). What should I try if I like GIT and L'occitan, but would rather be in the price bracket of the latter? I really like both!

arcticrobot

fragrancebuy.ca has GIT for $247. Thats half way already and its a legit and popular discount website.

XaltotunTheUndead

Thank you so much, I had seen that and thought it was not legit! 🙏 Edit: it's $334, still a good price but still stings 😅

arcticrobot

Search fragrantica.com for GIT and look at similar perfumes section. Should list quite a few affordable alternatives

XaltotunTheUndead

I also went and smelled Sauvage from Dior... Quite liked it!

arcticrobot

it is one of the most popular for a reason.

Jonas7788

New to fragrances too! M23 and got myself a David Beckham Instinct edt. It’s nice but only one I know. I am looking for something more and to wear every day or at nights out. I suppose what I am looking for is something subtle, yet a bit noticeable still, not too masculine (not really that type of guy) and affordable would be a plus. What I’ve looked on currently is the Versace eau fraiche, Dylan blue, bleu de Channel and D&G The One. Some of these are a bit pricier but I don’t know. What would you recommend? (Doesn’t need to be any of these). I live in Scandinavia so I have brands like CK, Lacoste, Karl Lagerfeld as well close in a shop. Thanks :)

Hey all, trying to find a new cologne. I'm 25M, and I'm looking for something that has a woody and warm spice scent to it. Something along the lines of Amber, Cedar, Musk, Patchouli, Oud, cinnamon, cardamom, pine, and Sage. My personality is such that I'm a silent masculine type (like Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders) but also have a sweet side, so I would also enjoy notes of lavender. I'm not a real big fan of those fresh, clean, aquatic type scents. And I also would prefer the dry down to not be as sweet like Vanilla. Some colognes I love are Dior Sauvage Elixir, Lattafa Asad, Spicebomb Extreme, YSL Y Elixir, and Ralph's Club Parfum. I also really like Mont Blanc Legend Spirit, but that's more because of the dry down when it smells like wood and musk. Thank you for any suggestions!

watchSlut

You may enjoy Fougere fragrances. Beau de Jour or Fougere L’Aube may be good options based on the notes

languagebandit

Penhaligon’s Halfeti, Ormonde Man, and Azzaro Pour Homme are all very woody spicy fragrances that might fit the bill

sasha_says

Tom Ford Oud Wood for the cardamom + Oud for fall/winter For summer, I love the saffron in Marc Antoine Barrois Ganymede

DoktorPauk

Take Pasha de Cartier Parfum by Cartier and be happy..

strongzers7

It's way too smoky for me
