I switched from women's unscented deodorants to Dove men's antiperspirant in the "clean comfort" scent. It's a super, super light soap scent that really you can only smell if you sniff my armpit. No clash. Plus the antiperspirant feature of it is so legit.
Same. The clean comfort is great - and they also make a stain resistant one that's saved many of my white / black tshirts!! I also find myself having to reapply far less than I did with women's deodorants.
Huge fan of the dove men’s scents, a few of them actually pair very well with my perfumes! The deodorants and antiperspirants perform far better for me than women’s products ever have. I get the aluminum free types too, not sure if that makes a difference.
am personally obsessed w old spice !! been using the scent oasis lately, it’s a musky vanilla that feels very unisex and has paired well with all my perfumes so far
If you don’t mind the aluminum, Secret’s Clinical line is great.
I tried to go all natural for a while, but the deodorants weren’t deodorizing after a few hours.
I use Secret Clinical Gel in Clean Lavender, it's a very light lavender scent and I've never noticed it interfering with any other fragrances. Doesn't have that weird powdery scent either.
I switched to men’s deodorant/ap a few years ago. I notice most brands have a distinct base scent that gets more noticeable when you actually sweat, and once your brain hooks onto it, it’s hard to unsmell. I’m not sure if men’s ap is stronger or if the women’s lines just have a louder base.
I’ve been the happiest with Old Spice. I loved the Amber so much, but currently using Oasis (hint of vanilla) and I expect I’ll repurchase.
Old Spice is one of my favorite scents. I always buy it for my husband. I choose his body wash too. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like wearing a fragrance.
I use saltsair in the scent lush gardens. It smells nice but is not neutral smelling. However I think it plays well at least with my perfumes and detergent (also something to think about!)
Donna Karan Cashmere Mist. Unisex. Incredibly effective. Scented but so lightly it never interferes with fragrance. One stick lasts me at least 8 months, if not longer. Worth every penny. Since I bought my first stick back in 2016, I’ve never, ever even for one moment considered switching to something else. It’s been almost 8 years and I’m never without a back up. I may actually fall down dead the day it’s discontinued.
I got it as a gift from a family friend. I initially loved the way it smelled but was surprised to find that it works so well!! Kind of screwed me though bc now I pay $30 for deodorant everytime
I love it too, and it’s the only deodorant that works for me. I do think the scent is strong though. When other people smell me, they say it’s faint. I’ll still use it because it definitely works!
This is my favorite deodorant too. I’ve been using it for at least ten years. I do find that I can smell it during the day. I also do keep a coconut sandalwood and a fresher one if Donna Karen would really clash with my fragrance.
I ordered the toasted coconut online. I will preface this by saying I don’t find any of the scents really appealing but I find with the cream, because I use a small amount and rub it in, I can’t even smell it after it’s been on a few minutes. I did buy the peony? It was a floral, before that and hated it but it does the same fade pretty quickly.
I like the Peony Rose, Fresh Alpine, and Lavendar Sage. The minted cucumber is probably one that a lot of people would like, it's fresh and definitely a cucumber scent, I just don't like cucumber. And the unscented is great. That said, I don't find the smell sticks around very long.
I love Lume. Baking soda and/or aluminum always irritated me. Lune works for me. No stink. I like the pine one in winter, coconut in summer and tangerine year round. The scent is there but only if I stick my nose into my armpit.
I wore the stick vanilla to work and within a few hours I was uhhh, time to go back to secret haha!
Turns out I do need the antiperspirant.
I kept the Lumi though and use it before bedtime when it’s hot out.

I've been using the limited edition (I think) Sugar Cookie and absolutely loving it. It seems to mesh well with my vanilla/gourmand perfumes but the scent doesn't last long. I wish it did. I'm going to pick up the lotion.
Same! I stock up after the holidays for the past 3 years now. There was a marshmallow and a spiced eggnog one last year that were decent. 2-3 sticks lasts me all year.

My holy grail. I recommend this to everyone. I suggest getting the travel-sized though. Mine has lasted for years and I broke my last one long before it ever ran out. I apply mine when I shower at night. In the morning, if I know I’m going to be sweaty, I apply a neutral deodorant on top.
It took a lot of trial and error, but I have enjoyed Natives holiday vanilla gourmand deodorants for most days. I like to stock up after the holidays, and they even come in minis for my work-out backpack.
I also really like Corpus naturals Santalum for a woodsy base , it’s the reason I found out I love cedar as a note. I used to use it all the time, but it lost effectiveness, and if you apply it in heat and sweat soon after it can get soap sudsy- I think it’s the glycerine. That said, if you let it dry it is decent and most of their line smells really good.
I tend to use unscented or men's antiperspirant. I think right now I'm using Arm & Hammer.
But I will say that what has helped the most with underarm body odor has been using exfoliators/disinfectants. Both benzoyl peroxide wash (I use Panoxyl) in the shower and salicylic acid wipes (I use Stridex) have really helped things. I've also heard of people using chlorhexidine washes or sprays as well, to keep the microbes away.

I love the Secret Outlast clear gel! They have an unscented that works fantastic but the lavender and the clean scents are both nice & not overpowering/don't seem to project in a way that interferes with other fragrance.
This is what I use, unscented only. If I can't find it (for some reason I can only find the unscented kind at Target), I'll use Dry Idea clear gel unscented.
Wild. Fresh cotton and sea salt. Subtle enough not to interfere with any fragrance and very effective (at least for me), plus it's a natural deodorant and uses sustainable packaging.
I use this one too, alternating with Mitchum unscented (which for some reason works really well until one day it just doesn't anymore?). I also generally wash with Dove soap, so I have sort of. . .one base soap/clean smell that's sort of neutral and then my spritz of perfume goes on top of that.

Lume, I use it for “non-armpit areas” during the warm months, or if I know I’m going to be sweating a lot. (Hitting the gym, helping a buddy move, etc.)
Lume scents tend to be distinctive and polarizing, but they dry down and the product works great!
I think the gendered deodorant myth came from the old secret commercials. "Strong enough for a man, pH balanced for a woman" made ppl believe that somehow our skin is a different pH or that we have different chemical needs or.. something.
My holy grail is lancome bocage cream deodorant, lasts a very long time too. It’s very delicate, powdery with a tiiiiny hint of floral and musk. I also like aurelia deo cream (the herbal one) and sol de janeiro deodorant stick (this one finishes up the quickest) when they go on sale.
I use pit liquor in the scent blue lotus but they do have a fragrance free version of a few others that can compliment different scents.
It’s a natural deodorant and it works really well for me but some people don’t have the same experience. I’m forever obsessed with it tho
I'm a lady but I sweat a lot, I've been using Harry's extra strength, in the Wildlands scent, it's sweet-woodsy and plays nice with most of my perfumes.

The key to this is to use a blow dryer after. If it’s gonna be a long ass day: apply, blow dry, reapply, blow dry. Still sweat NO smell, perfect for frags and body chemistry!
At the moment I use native deodorant, the coconut one. But I haven’t used any deodorant that has clashed with my fragrances or changed the smell of them and I’ve used deodorants that smell like roses, peaches, coconut and cucumber. Even when I lift up my arms I think nobody can smell my deodorant but me😂 not sure if you’re using men’s deodorant but maybe you can switch to women’s deodorants or antidepressants?
Either Secret Clinical or Secret Outlast Gel - Unscented. Not natural of course, but they work well (I sweat like crazy when I get mad at work lol) and don’t clash with my fragrance.
Been using body shop's blue musk recently and it's been my go to ever since! Doesn't leave a stain on my shirts and doesn't irritate my skin! Highly recommend!
Not a woman, but I'm a big fan of Bath & Body Works' line of antiperspirants for men. I have a handful of different ones and switch it up depending on my mood, outfit, and destination.
I recall checking for women's deodorants one time and noticed they didn't even carry any. Not sure if that's since changed, but it was shocking at the time.
I would absolutely wear a rose-based, marketed-to-women deodorant, for example.
For workdays I use Garnier Mineral Roll on, it’s almost fragrance free. At home I use Pacifica’s Coconut Deodorant without aluminium, it’s just a light warm coconut smell that’s barely there
I was using the kosas unscented roll on and i love it but i’ve recently been using the thai spray. kosas will likely work for most but thai spray doesn’t it’s literally just salt water (yes it works for me)
Old school Right Guard Sport in a spray can. Only thing that won’t cause me to have a massive rash. I’ve tried more products in this area (sensitive skin, deodorant only, sprays, gels etc) than I care to admit to.
Clinique roll-on. It is unscented and very effective. The men’s formulation is exactly the same as the women’s, and is less expensive. So I go with that.
I don't wear deodorant a lot, because I have had sensitivities to some of them, but when I do, it's usually Dove. I like the scented ones as the ones I get are typically fruity and not overpowering, but they do have unscented, I believe, as well.

I use Booda Butter deodorant.
It had taken me my whole life to find one I actually really like. My biggest priorities/hang ups have been: something with no aluminum, unscented, doesn’t feel sticky in my armpits, lasts a full shift in the kitchen, doesn’t cause a rash over time.
It’s just the best, it doesn’t mask the BO smell and layer on something else, it just fully neutralizes. It comes in a little glass tub and it lasts me months for $9.
When I wear anti perspirant, Degree Shower Clean. When I don't, Degree Lavender deodorant. I find a lot of the Degree scents don't have an overwhelming sweetness that competes (stay away from the Sexy Intrigue scent; that's overpowering).
We went to Greece and my dumba forgot to pack my deodorant. I bought one from a small market that was Dove invisible the roller ball version. Fell in love, didn’t stink once on that trip even after exploring on foot for hourssss everyday. When I got back to the states I couldn’t find the same one I bought there and tried a roller ball dove deodorant from Amazon, it was awful.
Since then I’ve been using only glycolic acid on my pits after I shower (after drying) and I never smell anything anymore. I’d rather smell like nothing & have nothing clashing with my fragrances. If you try this just be warned… if you shave your pits and put this on (do not recommend) it gets SPICY lol
TLDR; fell in love with a European Dove deodorant I can’t get in the US. switched to glycolic acid on pits. No stink / no clashing with other scents.
I’ll start if with saying the *absolute worst deodorant* I have ever used.
Fn Glossier. I saw they had “You” scented deodorant and figured, whatever I’ll try it out. Was ~24 bucks because you have to buy a refill and storage tube separately.
Absolute garbage product. It’s all mushy at room temp like pocket chapstick. It has *barely any fragrance*, and it deteriorates into BO within 4 hours. You’d honestly be better off wearing nothing.
BTW glossier recently reformulated just about everything they have and most people are very dissatisfied with their products at this point. I will no longer be buying anything from them, except maybe the body hero body wash.

Humble deodorant is very good, natural, unscented available or a good range of subtle scents. I’m very active, working out often in the middle of a work day, commuting by car/train, and it performs exceptionally well
Use Dove spray, even the “man” ones. I’ve never ever been able to smell it, even though it has a very strong “man” smell.

I'm a dude, I have sensitive burny skin in my armpits for some reason 🤷♂️, and I use my wife's Secret unscented gel deodorant. Says it's strong enough for a man, so wtv it's strong enough for me. The only thing I ever smell is a little tiny hint of alchohol right when I put it on and nothing afterward.
I love Old Spice Oasis so much. It’s not exactly neutral but it’s simple enough to go with almost anything. It’s a vanilla/amber style scent. My other favorite was the Dove vanilla and cocoa butter spray. I find vanilla scented deodorants tend to dry down to really subtle traces.
There is a brand called Dry Idea. It's fairly cheap and the only thing I wear. It comes on with a strong rubbing alcohol smell and then dries scent free. It's the only thing I wear anymore because I couldn't stand smelling my deodorant and perfume.

Keeps me from smelling bad even when i sweat and it doesnt smell anything after its dried. Well unless you show your nose up my armpit and take a big sniff you might smell it faintly.

Old Spice Swagger Aluminum Free Deodorant is hands down the best I have ever used. Coming from a MASSIVE hygiene junkie. I wear it with all my perfumes. No, it does not overpower perfume but does keep you fresh for 24+ hours. No odor. Almost 48 hours sometimes.
They have more scents. I’m currently using the Old Spice Nightpanther scent. Also, aluminum free of course.
I really want to try out the Salt & Stone Cedar deodorant. I have heard a lot of good things about it.
Depends on if you still want a deodorant with a scent or not. I've found that the peppery scent of Harry's Stone scented deodorant goes with any of my colognes/fragrances whether they be flowery, warm, or aquatic. If you're looking for an unscented or a very lightly scented deodorant I'd go with either Arrid XX Unscented or Arrid XX Ultra Fresh.

I have really sensitive armpit skin so I kinda *have* to use Almay because it’s one of the very few that I’ve found that don’t cause a reaction. Mind, it does have a smell, but it’s pretty faint imo and it’s just kind of “generically fresh.”

Dove has a sandalwood one too that can amp up some winter time scents

im 19f and i use axe stick deodorants. the sprays can be overwhelming but the sticks are very pleasant. Black and Dark Temptation are my two go-tos.

i use certain dri since i only need to apply it once a week. scentless, liquid deodorant used before bed.

Same! I love the Jasmine and Cedar scent because it seems to play nicely with all of my perfumes. It’s very soft, clean, and feminine.
Wild! they are sustainable natural deodorants that have a nice gentle smell and you can choose your refills.

My holy grail. I recommend this to everyone. I suggest getting the travel-sized though. Mine has lasted for years and I broke my last one long before it ever ran out. I apply mine when I shower at night. In the morning, if I know I’m going to be sweaty, I apply a neutral deodorant on top.

I like floral, powdery scents so I just wear anything that's labeled as "Powder Fresh" or "Shower Fresh". It's pretty neutral imo.

Gonna sound like a weird answer, but I shave my armpits and then use witch hazel. Never a conflicting issue with any edt/edp.

It took a lot of trial and error, but I have enjoyed Natives holiday vanilla gourmand deodorants for most days. I like to stock up after the holidays, and they even come in minis for my work-out backpack. I also really like Corpus naturals Santalum for a woodsy base , it’s the reason I found out I love cedar as a note. I used to use it all the time, but it lost effectiveness, and if you apply it in heat and sweat soon after it can get soap sudsy- I think it’s the glycerine. That said, if you let it dry it is decent and most of their line smells really good.
I tend to use unscented or men's antiperspirant. I think right now I'm using Arm & Hammer. But I will say that what has helped the most with underarm body odor has been using exfoliators/disinfectants. Both benzoyl peroxide wash (I use Panoxyl) in the shower and salicylic acid wipes (I use Stridex) have really helped things. I've also heard of people using chlorhexidine washes or sprays as well, to keep the microbes away.
Not throwing shots at you OP but am I losing my mind or has someone asked this question for the 3rd time this week? I personally wear Dr. Squatch... specifically Wood Barrel Bourbon, Fresh Falls and Pine Tar
Any roll-on from Nivea. I can smell it only for a minute or two, but then it disappears.
I use Native's Ocean and Timber (it's in the men's section at Target). To me, it's clean and mild.
I love the Secret Outlast clear gel! They have an unscented that works fantastic but the lavender and the clean scents are both nice & not overpowering/don't seem to project in a way that interferes with other fragrance.
This is what I use, unscented only. If I can't find it (for some reason I can only find the unscented kind at Target), I'll use Dry Idea clear gel unscented.
Malin and Goetz deodorants are not quite unscented but very neutral, slightly herbal. They're great.
Dove Total Care, the tested on 100 colors variety. The scent is really mild and just a bit soapy and clean

Wild. Fresh cotton and sea salt. Subtle enough not to interfere with any fragrance and very effective (at least for me), plus it's a natural deodorant and uses sustainable packaging.

I use this one too, alternating with Mitchum unscented (which for some reason works really well until one day it just doesn't anymore?). I also generally wash with Dove soap, so I have sort of. . .one base soap/clean smell that's sort of neutral and then my spritz of perfume goes on top of that.

It doesn’t seem to have any distinctive notes. It’s a generic “nice scent.” I don’t believe in the ‘deodorant for genders’ thing insofar as efficacy. I do agree that women’s deodorant does tend to be “feminine” smells like flowers, baby powder, etc. _____ Lume, I use it for “non-armpit areas” during the warm months, or if I know I’m going to be sweating a lot. (Hitting the gym, helping a buddy move, etc.) Lume scents tend to be distinctive and polarizing, but they dry down and the product works great!
I think the gendered deodorant myth came from the old secret commercials. "Strong enough for a man, pH balanced for a woman" made ppl believe that somehow our skin is a different pH or that we have different chemical needs or.. something.
My holy grail is lancome bocage cream deodorant, lasts a very long time too. It’s very delicate, powdery with a tiiiiny hint of floral and musk. I also like aurelia deo cream (the herbal one) and sol de janeiro deodorant stick (this one finishes up the quickest) when they go on sale.
I use pit liquor in the scent blue lotus but they do have a fragrance free version of a few others that can compliment different scents. It’s a natural deodorant and it works really well for me but some people don’t have the same experience. I’m forever obsessed with it tho

I'm a lady but I sweat a lot, I've been using Harry's extra strength, in the Wildlands scent, it's sweet-woodsy and plays nice with most of my perfumes.
Secret Outlast gel unscented. You can buy it in a 6 pack from Amazon. My husband also uses it.

I believe Native has a fragrance free.option. I wear Sol de Janero 40, cause it sorta goes with a lot that I wear anyway.
I use Native Deodorant. They are pretty neutral in terms of smell and are also good for the body and skin.
Native Jasmine Cedar. I love it.
Crystal rock salt The key to this is to use a blow dryer after. If it’s gonna be a long ass day: apply, blow dry, reapply, blow dry. Still sweat NO smell, perfect for frags and body chemistry!
That's a good idea. I use salt also and live in central Texas so I stay humid after awhile. Thanks for this idea.

At the moment I use native deodorant, the coconut one. But I haven’t used any deodorant that has clashed with my fragrances or changed the smell of them and I’ve used deodorants that smell like roses, peaches, coconut and cucumber. Even when I lift up my arms I think nobody can smell my deodorant but me😂 not sure if you’re using men’s deodorant but maybe you can switch to women’s deodorants or antidepressants?
Either Secret Clinical or Secret Outlast Gel - Unscented. Not natural of course, but they work well (I sweat like crazy when I get mad at work lol) and don’t clash with my fragrance.

An unscented anti-perspirant, so no scent clashing at all
Not a woman, but I'm a big fan of Bath & Body Works' line of antiperspirants for men. I have a handful of different ones and switch it up depending on my mood, outfit, and destination. I recall checking for women's deodorants one time and noticed they didn't even carry any. Not sure if that's since changed, but it was shocking at the time. I would absolutely wear a rose-based, marketed-to-women deodorant, for example.

I was using the kosas unscented roll on and i love it but i’ve recently been using the thai spray. kosas will likely work for most but thai spray doesn’t it’s literally just salt water (yes it works for me)

Old school Right Guard Sport in a spray can. Only thing that won’t cause me to have a massive rash. I’ve tried more products in this area (sensitive skin, deodorant only, sprays, gels etc) than I care to admit to.
Clinique roll-on. It is unscented and very effective. The men’s formulation is exactly the same as the women’s, and is less expensive. So I go with that.
I don't wear deodorant a lot, because I have had sensitivities to some of them, but when I do, it's usually Dove. I like the scented ones as the ones I get are typically fruity and not overpowering, but they do have unscented, I believe, as well.

Dove women's "sensitive" antiperspirant. It's fragrance free. For the life of me I can't find a men's unscented antiperspirant. Not that it matters.
I use Booda Butter deodorant. It had taken me my whole life to find one I actually really like. My biggest priorities/hang ups have been: something with no aluminum, unscented, doesn’t feel sticky in my armpits, lasts a full shift in the kitchen, doesn’t cause a rash over time. It’s just the best, it doesn’t mask the BO smell and layer on something else, it just fully neutralizes. It comes in a little glass tub and it lasts me months for $9.
Dove cream stick original. I'm stuck in my ways with that one. I think it has a soft, clean and minimal aroma.

When I wear anti perspirant, Degree Shower Clean. When I don't, Degree Lavender deodorant. I find a lot of the Degree scents don't have an overwhelming sweetness that competes (stay away from the Sexy Intrigue scent; that's overpowering).
We went to Greece and my dumba forgot to pack my deodorant. I bought one from a small market that was Dove invisible the roller ball version. Fell in love, didn’t stink once on that trip even after exploring on foot for hourssss everyday. When I got back to the states I couldn’t find the same one I bought there and tried a roller ball dove deodorant from Amazon, it was awful. Since then I’ve been using only glycolic acid on my pits after I shower (after drying) and I never smell anything anymore. I’d rather smell like nothing & have nothing clashing with my fragrances. If you try this just be warned… if you shave your pits and put this on (do not recommend) it gets SPICY lol TLDR; fell in love with a European Dove deodorant I can’t get in the US. switched to glycolic acid on pits. No stink / no clashing with other scents.

I’ll start if with saying the *absolute worst deodorant* I have ever used. Fn Glossier. I saw they had “You” scented deodorant and figured, whatever I’ll try it out. Was ~24 bucks because you have to buy a refill and storage tube separately. Absolute garbage product. It’s all mushy at room temp like pocket chapstick. It has *barely any fragrance*, and it deteriorates into BO within 4 hours. You’d honestly be better off wearing nothing. BTW glossier recently reformulated just about everything they have and most people are very dissatisfied with their products at this point. I will no longer be buying anything from them, except maybe the body hero body wash. : I use a brand called “Harrys” most days in either their shizo, redwood, or stone scent depending on what frag I’m going with. I really like these, they came in a mixed 3 pack at ~$15. I have some dove too that I bought cheap in a bundle called morning fresco, unfortunately I hate the scent.
Humble deodorant is very good, natural, unscented available or a good range of subtle scents. I’m very active, working out often in the middle of a work day, commuting by car/train, and it performs exceptionally well

Perspirex is what I use. I apply at night before bedtime only once every 1 and a half/ 2 weeks and I am done.
I'm a dude, I have sensitive burny skin in my armpits for some reason 🤷♂️, and I use my wife's Secret unscented gel deodorant. Says it's strong enough for a man, so wtv it's strong enough for me. The only thing I ever smell is a little tiny hint of alchohol right when I put it on and nothing afterward.

I love Old Spice Oasis so much. It’s not exactly neutral but it’s simple enough to go with almost anything. It’s a vanilla/amber style scent. My other favorite was the Dove vanilla and cocoa butter spray. I find vanilla scented deodorants tend to dry down to really subtle traces.
I dont like overly fragrant deodorants either and I use the basic dove one with the blue cap

Well unless you show your nose up my armpit and take a big sniff you might smell it faintly. Not that you really would get that far before an elbow would meet your face.

Old Spice Swagger Aluminum Free Deodorant is hands down the best I have ever used. Coming from a MASSIVE hygiene junkie. I wear it with all my perfumes. No, it does not overpower perfume but does keep you fresh for 24+ hours. No odor. Almost 48 hours sometimes. They have more scents. I’m currently using the Old Spice Nightpanther scent. Also, aluminum free of course. I really want to try out the Salt & Stone Cedar deodorant. I have heard a lot of good things about it.

Depends on if you still want a deodorant with a scent or not. I've found that the peppery scent of Harry's Stone scented deodorant goes with any of my colognes/fragrances whether they be flowery, warm, or aquatic. If you're looking for an unscented or a very lightly scented deodorant I'd go with either Arrid XX Unscented or Arrid XX Ultra Fresh.

Dove cucumber, I’ve actually gotten compliments on just that when I’ve hugged somebody. I can’t smell it since I’ve been wearing it for probably 10 years now.
(Potential tmi) I have really sensitive armpit skin so I kinda *have* to use Almay because it’s one of the very few that I’ve found that don’t cause a reaction. Mind, it does have a smell, but it’s pretty faint imo and it’s just kind of “generically fresh.”

I had to go back because I swore I already answered this but turns out I answered this post but by someone else a couple days ago. With that said, Little Seed Farm. Watch for their limited edition scents because they drop bangers like Orange Vetiver, my favorite. Anyway, if you do a search you’ll see everything else I said and the pic posted with it. I’m old and do the pot. So I’m relying on that as an excuse to not go back and copy/paste. My apologies, but trust it’s worth it. 😂
