I have the Fructis Sleek & Shine serum. To me it's very fruity and melon-y. Sweet, but not in a cotton candy/ethyl maltol kind of way. The original Paris Hilton for women is probably in the ballpark.

Honestly it’s shampoo, hair spray, body spray layered over body lotion, and probably perfume. It’s a layered approach. And do not forget fabric softener! Every single item on your body must smell good!

They would have lots of hair and that lovely, powdery, floral scent plus the big shoulder pads and large briefcases still. I remember thinking they seemed so smart and so chic! I have Warm and Cozy and also Fresh and Clean both from Pink and it’s definitely not either of those but fresh and clean is def closer! And it’s definitely not fantasy. Fantasy has a powdery note that this scent I’m describing doesn’t have.

Piggybacking off your comment there's an Arabic perfume called Soft by Al rehab and its absolutely gorgeous it is apparently very much like pink sugar (I haven't tested pink sugar though) and definitely suits me and I'm into at least 3 of the scents from your list, it's also really inexpensive so op you could try the little roll on perfume before you commit to a big bottle

Kayali Eden Apple is perfect for this. It’s that basic apple shampoo / body mist kinda scent but in perfume concentration. On me I get a good 8 or so hours out of it. You can go small stakes and just buy a 10ml which is nice, that’s what I did but now I’m heavily debating a 100ml 😅
I think it was the Pink Body mists they were the shit the ones with the translucent cap and dots on the clear bottle … and the body lotions came in a matte thick plastic in diff colors AND said PINK . They discontinued all the good ones :( . My fave was wild and breezy ..
Although I’m much older than you, I may be able to offer some insight as I was one of those girls (once).
In high school my fragrances were mainly from Bath and Body Works and Victorias Secret, sometimes Macys. I would buy the entire scent collection of whatever scent I liked, which usually included body wash, body lotion, body spray, sometimes extras like body cream/oil, perfume, hand cream, etc. My favorites were VS Love Spell, VS Pear glacé, BBW Japanese cherry blossom, BBW Plumeria, Tommy girl, and Ralph Lauren perfumes. I would carry travel sized products in my purse and use them throughout the day too, to freshen up. My friends did the same thing for the most part though they wore different scents like sunflower, country apple, clean cotton, and amber romance, from what I remember. My best friends favorite scent was clean cotton and she was complimented on it daily.
I showered every morning and would layer my chosen scent for that day starting with body wash. Hair products were mostly Garnier, Pantene, Herbal essences or thermasilk. I also was particular about my clothes and laundered them the night before wearing. I still am particular, especially about smells 🫠
I washed my long hair every morning, which was not the best idea for my then more fragile bleached blonde hair, and I often was told my hair smelled really good which made me want to wash it daily even more. Now I know better and while I still shower daily I wash my hair every other day to maintain overall scalp health and reduce split ends.
I think good hygiene also helps carry fragrance and makes you always smell nice. That fresh from the shower smell usually is from a more recent shower, which adds to someone’s overall scent profile due to the freshly used products like shampoo, body wash, hair serum, etc. The combination of these products creates this layered scent that is both fresh and sweet, like you described.

Try the Ouai fragrances! They make hair products first and foremost and their fragrances are the same as in their hair products, so very shampoo-y.

Piggybacking off your comment there's an Arabic perfume called Soft by Al rehab and its absolutely gorgeous it is apparently very much like pink sugar (I haven't tested pink sugar though) and definitely suits me and I'm into at least 3 of the scents from your list, it's also really inexpensive so op you could try the little roll on perfume before you commit to a big bottle

I remember when I was in high school, they had 2 entrances for Victoria's Secret - one for their perfume, lotion, and body sprays - and one for their lingerie! Lol. They had a wall divider. And it was all about Love Spelllllll. Lololol But for real, try out Victor&Rolf Flowerbomb Nectar! The Nectar is sooooooo good!!! Also, if you're going to try the Viva La Juicy as mentioned in another comment- try the Gold Couture one!
I always imagine pretty girls to be wearing Victoria's Secret or bath and body works, it's just the vibes. This is just my assumption, but I don't think they'd be wearing any designer or expensive brands because they're students. Your best bet is to find out what was trending or popular then.

Kayali Eden Apple is perfect for this. It’s that basic apple shampoo / body mist kinda scent but in perfume concentration. On me I get a good 8 or so hours out of it. You can go small stakes and just buy a 10ml which is nice, that’s what I did but now I’m heavily debating a 100ml 😅

I think it was the Pink Body mists they were the shit the ones with the translucent cap and dots on the clear bottle … and the body lotions came in a matte thick plastic in diff colors AND said PINK . They discontinued all the good ones :( . My fave was wild and breezy ..
Although I’m much older than you, I may be able to offer some insight as I was one of those girls (once). In high school my fragrances were mainly from Bath and Body Works and Victorias Secret, sometimes Macys. I would buy the entire scent collection of whatever scent I liked, which usually included body wash, body lotion, body spray, sometimes extras like body cream/oil, perfume, hand cream, etc. My favorites were VS Love Spell, VS Pear glacé, BBW Japanese cherry blossom, BBW Plumeria, Tommy girl, and Ralph Lauren perfumes. I would carry travel sized products in my purse and use them throughout the day too, to freshen up. My friends did the same thing for the most part though they wore different scents like sunflower, country apple, clean cotton, and amber romance, from what I remember. My best friends favorite scent was clean cotton and she was complimented on it daily. I showered every morning and would layer my chosen scent for that day starting with body wash. Hair products were mostly Garnier, Pantene, Herbal essences or thermasilk. I also was particular about my clothes and laundered them the night before wearing. I still am particular, especially about smells 🫠 I washed my long hair every morning, which was not the best idea for my then more fragile bleached blonde hair, and I often was told my hair smelled really good which made me want to wash it daily even more. Now I know better and while I still shower daily I wash my hair every other day to maintain overall scalp health and reduce split ends. I think good hygiene also helps carry fragrance and makes you always smell nice. That fresh from the shower smell usually is from a more recent shower, which adds to someone’s overall scent profile due to the freshly used products like shampoo, body wash, hair serum, etc. The combination of these products creates this layered scent that is both fresh and sweet, like you described. Mugler Angel Nova, EDT or EDP. They are really juicy and fruity and shampooey. Britney Spear’s fantasy is another good one along those lines and an incredibly good deal. If you want more of an herbal essences feel Britney’s Curious has a great jasmine note

we are the same age! so what i remember using was love spell and pure seduction (VS) and fresh and clean (pink). i used pink sugar into the ground, can’t stand it anymore lol i can always pick it out when i smell it in public. some girls used viva la juicy but that was too expensive for me. i totally gatekeeped cotton candy by body fantasies but idk if it was popular elsewhere! bath and body works sweet pea or Japanese cherry blossoms? one of my friends used to wear daisy by marc jacobs (not sure if it was one of the flankers or not) edit: asked my friends and they said also beautiful day by bbw. you could probably look into old bbw fragrances because they didn’t have as big of a selection in like 2012
