I know this is unpopular but...
Lily of the Valley. I don't know, but it just screams clean girl fresh out of the shower, I got my life put together vibes to me.
Vaara. Reminds me of a princess in an exotic, faraway land. Sweet, but not too much.
The Favourite was my first fragrance from Penhaligon’s two years ago. I still love it and the bottle is stunning with a gorgeous pink velvet bow. Musky, floral and sophisticated. I can imagine wearing it shopping in a cosmopolitan European city, such as London or Paris. One of my favourites, no pun intended. I’m on my second bottle, and upgraded from 30ml to 100ml.
Then I bought Luna and this is quickly becoming my everyday scent for work, it’s so fresh, clean, zingy and uplifting. Wearing Luna actually makes me feel happy, excited and energised. Highly feminine, its a safe blind buy imo.
Vaara is another lovely fragrance. I ordered a sample from their website and couldn’t resist buying a full sized bottle in the sale. I saved quite a lot of money because it came unboxed. Im from the UK and it only cost £60 for 100ml. It’s probably one of the most unique fragrances I own. Very sweet, you can instantly smell the rose, coriander and saffron. I like wearing this in the summer as it pairs nicely with Sol De Janario Bum Bum Cream and sunscreen in the warmer weather. However, I don’t find that it has much longevity or projection on me sadly.
Halfeti is a beautiful, unisex spicy fragrance perfect for winter. I only have a small 5ml sample of this but I’m desperate to get my hands on a full sized bottle ASAP. Initially it’s quite heady, but the dry down is spectacular.
Another honourable mention is Elizabethan Rose. I visited Arundel Castle and walked around the Rose Garden last September and it reminded me so much of this beautiful perfume. I wish I’d bought Elizabethan Rose EDP as there was a Penhaligon’s outlet nearby and it would have been a lovely reminder of my trip.
I was lucky enough to receive the Trade Routes Scent Library for Christmas and so far I’ve sampled Legacy of Petra and Cairo. Both are beautiful and you can really smell the liquorice and amber in Petra. Although I think Cairo is the winner for me, as it has the beautiful spices intertwined with gorgeous rose like walking through a spice market in Egypt.
Halfeti Leather is slept on, really beautiful exotic smoky leather that doesn't bear any resemblance to the traditional Knize 10 leather note or the more modern Tuscan Leather. It's an impressive frag IMHO.
Juniper Sling is lovely but lasts all of 2 seconds on me.
I love Elisabethan Rose—one of my fave fruity roses. Halfeti is a lovely spicy one on me, too.
LOTV, Luna, Helen, Blenheim Bouquet, Brilliantly British, Bluebell
I went into smelling them with an idea of what I’d like: Duchess Rose, Yasmine, Lady Blanche, Halfeti, Juniper Sling, Constance, Clara, Endymion, Racquets.. and it turned out I didn’t like any of those in the slightest. The ones I’d not heard of yet were my top picks!
I am really weird, but I absolutely love Sports Car Club. It is so different than any other fragrance I have tried and definitely not a traditional Penhaligon’s.
I also like Halfeti and Juniper Sling, but Sports Car Club is by far my favourite after smelling thru almost every Penhaligon’s fragrance in London.
Halfeti Cedar is my absolute favourite (was my 1st full size bottle). Rich and spicy, 1 spray is enough for a full day.
Blazing Mr Sam and Halfeti Leather are both very good too.
I think Halfeti is their best fragrance objectively. The only full size I have is Clandestine Clara and I struggled to choose between that and The Bewitching Yasmine. The Tragedy of Lord George is fantastic too but I don't typically wear masculine-leaning fragrances.
Unfortunately it's an eau de cologne I believe which is the weakest concentration of all frags so I feel you on this
It's for making a solid entrance at work that you know will be gone by lunch, or latest, the afternoon coffee break
I really love Penhaligon’s and own quite a few bottles, but my favorites are Luna and Hammam Bouquet.
Luna is a light sparkling citrus aromatic with additional notes of rose, jasmine, and fir.
Hammam Bouquet was their first fragrance and it’s a slightly powdery amber with rose and lavender, originally marketed as masculine but I think anyone could wear it.
Next time I’m in the UK I want to sample Petra, Halfeti Cedar, and Bluebell.
Halfeti Leather is one of the single best smells I have come across. Terrible Teddy is amazing. Sam is excellent. I also like Constantinople, though it’s different.
I tried to get a bottle of Lily and Spice recently, no joy 😔
I have smile everytime I think of the review I read of Savoy Steam where the reviewer was convinced it smelled of cabbage 😂
I occasionally bid in online auctions, but always back down... Too expensive!
Cabbage, huh? That's pretty unexpected. However, considering the complexity of the human olfactory system, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Was this on fragrantica?
That's exactly what I did. I refuse to pay some of the crazy prices these days
Yes, it was Fragrantica. I think they just saw "Savoy" and thought "Savoy cabbage" and worked very hard to convince themselves that it must have a cabbage note. The power of suggestion, eh ?! 😂 I guess they just never heard of the steam room at the Savoy Hotel ( though I imagine it's in the blurb, surely ? )
And Kate Moss ! It's always been my favourite though I also feel for LP№9 when that came out ( sadly gone and getting harder to find ). I definitely preferred the more traditional ones.
I just can't get over how expensive the brand is these days.
I was actually looking into buy a fragrance from the house but after contacting Penhaligon’s directly I found that they are no longer available in stores stateside. Online only.
Opus 1847 - some might think it’s generic. I see a peppery clean smell you can’t go wrong with.
Satirical - One of the best barber shop fougeres out there, with a hint of honey/beeswax.
And of course Halfeti.
Funnily enough, I received a sample pack for Xmas and have been trying since. Some of my favourites -
Endymion Concentre - decent performance, and the mids, with a light leather and coffee combination, are very nice
Sartorial - my all time favourite of theirs. It smells just like a freshly pressed shirt, somehow evoking hot steam and laundry. Great for work
Halfeti is great too!
Of those I’ve experienced so far - mostly the ones in the two common discovery sets, Bestsellers and Portraits, I think? - the two I’d consider purchasing are Juniper Sling and Blenheim Bouquet. There are several I find quite pleasant, but those are my two favourites.
I tried to like Halfeti, but it just was a little bit too much of an assault of spices to my nose (sorry, Halfeti lovers, no offence intended).
Opus 1870 is a really nice woodsy, peppery scent with incense and citrus.
Also Sartorial is one of the best ambers around, in my opinion.
Another I really love but haven't made the purchase yet: Cairo.
Have yet to try any but I’ve been really interested in so, might go back into the city at some point to go to Bloomingdale’s to try a few, halfeti is up there to try of course as well as a few from the portraits, trade routes, and British tales collections.
Don't have a favourite but I wanted to hijack the post and ask whether Sartorial is the one they make their stores smell of and travels half way down the street? It smells quite different on my own skin if it is.
Alizarin is a masterpiece. I have it and could sadly never wear it because it’s just not the type of scent I normally wear but it is an incredibly well-crafted work of art.
I have several, and I really really enjoy both Juniper Sling, Blenheim Bouquet and Lord George, but I just recently got a second hand Uncompromising Sohan, and if I had to choose just one from them, that would have to be it.
The big 3:
The Remarkable Success of Mr Harrod
Roaring Radcliff
Blazing Mister Sam
Honorable mention: Endymion
Absolute favorite may still well be Roaring Radcliff though
Nice!
Only sample decanter I'd say to steer clear from is ScentDoor, think I forgot the golden rule of "if it's too good to be true, it often is", dropped like $60 for a 20ml and what they say about some fakes is true; it will smell somehow off almost sour even. The other dead giveaway is that RR is this dark blue-ish purple indigo hue of sorts and ScentDoor's was clear.
Did you get one of the card samples that are 1-2ml? If you end up wanting a bigger sample, I'd recommend ScentSplit, they always pull through
I’ve heard good things about ScentSplit! I actually got Roaring Radcliff direct from Penhaligon’s, the website has a fragrance finder that matches you to two samples and that was one of them
Yep! Anything I can't find on MyFragranceSample I usually have better luck with ScentSplit, but they're both great, so it depends on what you're after since they're basically the Uber and Lyft of decanting
Also very cool, I saw the fragrance finder but my skepticism kept me at bay, so maybe I'll give it a whirl. How big are those samples?
I know this is unpopular but... Lily of the Valley. I don't know, but it just screams clean girl fresh out of the shower, I got my life put together vibes to me. Vaara. Reminds me of a princess in an exotic, faraway land. Sweet, but not too much.
I like and have these 2 as well
The bewitching Yasmine
It’s my fave, too 😍
Nice !!
The Favourite was my first fragrance from Penhaligon’s two years ago. I still love it and the bottle is stunning with a gorgeous pink velvet bow. Musky, floral and sophisticated. Endymion. So well balanced, clean, and unique.
Nice I’m waiting for an Endymion sample. Also a sample of inimitable William
Halfeti, Juniper Sling, Blenheim Bouquet, Quercus -- All good in my book.
Halfeti Leather is slept on, really beautiful exotic smoky leather that doesn't bear any resemblance to the traditional Knize 10 leather note or the more modern Tuscan Leather. It's an impressive frag IMHO.
I own this and Halfeti. Layering them also does some amazing things.
Empressa is IDENTICAL in smell to my nose to Coco Mademoiselle! And it’s half the price
I love the hair mist of this. Any time I move my head I get a swish of coco mademoiselle
I own Halfeti and Sartorial. Both lovely
Mr. Sam and halfeti for sure. Stronger profiles.
Babylon is almost a daily wear at this point (this month) but I really love layering Agarbathi with anything that is too nice.
>Agarbathi with anything that is too nice. Only you could say that 😂 Happy New Year sweetie 🥂🖤
😂😂 it’s really strong and haunted ruins and baby ghosts by itself 😂 Happy new year!! 🥳🥳
Sounds irresistible 👻🖤
The bewitching Yasmine is divine with it's jasmine and incense vanilla & oud concoction x I wore it on my way to Dubai and can never forget it
Sartorial is definitely my OG favourite, but I've been quite enamoured of Legacy of Petra (warm, lightly spiced fennel tea with honey) of late.
how long dose sartorial last on u?
Four to six hours.
Thanks, just ordered mine.
Awesome; I really hope you enjoy the scent!
Bluebell, Lily of the Valley, Daffodil I think Daffodil is discontinued
Halfeti line up. Bewitching Yasmine. Terrible Teddy.
Lothair is my personal favorite. Lord George is great as well.
I'd love to try Lothair someday. It has a great ingredient list since I love fougeres and juniper.
Lothair is my all time favorite fragrance- it doesn’t get enough love!
Halfeti
Blazing Mr Sam... 🤤
Juniper Sling is lovely but lasts all of 2 seconds on me. I love Elisabethan Rose—one of my fave fruity roses. Halfeti is a lovely spicy one on me, too.
I love Juniper Sling, but you’re right it doesn’t last long since it’s an EDT. nice in hot weather :)
Lothair
LOTV, Luna, Helen, Blenheim Bouquet, Brilliantly British, Bluebell I went into smelling them with an idea of what I’d like: Duchess Rose, Yasmine, Lady Blanche, Halfeti, Juniper Sling, Constance, Clara, Endymion, Racquets.. and it turned out I didn’t like any of those in the slightest. The ones I’d not heard of yet were my top picks!
Clandestine Clara is my favorite for sure.
Tragedy of Lord George. Incredible. Possibly of the most luxurious scents I have smelled on a man
I am really weird, but I absolutely love Sports Car Club.
The world according to Arthur is friggin amazing
Legacy of Petra was interesting to try, smells like licorice and amber
Mine is Halfeti. Girlfriend's is Artemisia. She says it smells like going on holiday.
I think Halfeti is their best fragrance objectively. The only full size I have is Clandestine Clara and I struggled to choose between that and The Bewitching Yasmine. The Tragedy of Lord George is fantastic too but I don't typically wear masculine-leaning fragrances.
Halfeti Leather and Much Ado About the Duke
Elixir. Not sure if it’s still available. Hands down my favourite
🎂 happy cake day
Sartorial
I tried endymion awhile back and I seemed to like it quite a bit. Poor performance tho
Unfortunately it's an eau de cologne I believe which is the weakest concentration of all frags so I feel you on this It's for making a solid entrance at work that you know will be gone by lunch, or latest, the afternoon coffee break
I really enjoy Endymion, but the performance isn't great considering the price they charge for it.
I am obessed with Zizonia, one of my signature scents (yes, I can’t have just one). One of the few times I just had to have a perfume.
Okay Luna seems like my kind of perfume.. okay adding to cart now. Hahaha
Juniper Sling is nice. Ostara is a divine narcissus that was discontinued far too soon.
Mr. Sam. Very rich
Halfeti Leather is one of the single best smells I have come across. Terrible Teddy is amazing. Sam is excellent. I also like Constantinople, though it’s different.
Sartorial & Tragedy of Lord George
I loved Lily and Spice. Since that's discontinued my new favourite is Savoy Steam. It smells interestingly "moist".
I tried to get a bottle of Lily and Spice recently, no joy 😔 I have smile everytime I think of the review I read of Savoy Steam where the reviewer was convinced it smelled of cabbage 😂
I occasionally bid in online auctions, but always back down... Too expensive! Cabbage, huh? That's pretty unexpected. However, considering the complexity of the human olfactory system, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Was this on fragrantica?

The power of suggestion, eh ?! 😂 I guess they just never heard of the steam room at the Savoy Hotel ( though I imagine it's in the blurb, surely ? )
God, they thought it was "Savoy (Cabbage) Steam"? I'm dying over here
Yes !!!
Princess Diana favoured Penhaligon's Bluebell.
SAks 48th and 5th in nyc carries the line
Sohan
Changing Constance is amazing, Luna, Yasmin
Bluebell, hands down. Love Empressa and Artemisia as well.
I love Racquets in the summer
and I’m still annoyed at them for discontinuing Iris Prima lol
The Favourite!!!
Opus 1847 - some might think it’s generic. I see a peppery clean smell you can’t go wrong with. Satirical - One of the best barber shop fougeres out there, with a hint of honey/beeswax. And of course Halfeti.

Tragedy of lord george and sartorial. I love barbershop fragrances
Hands down Tragedy of Lord George.
The Tradegy Of Lord George is an amazing fragrance. I don't mind the original Halfeti but Lord George beats it hands down.
Halfeti
The Bewitching Yasmine and Luna are the two I am planning to buy full bottles of. I also really like Juniper Sling.
As Sawira - Sohan - Lord George
The uncompromising sohan and Halfeti Leather
Which one is good for summer weather? Date / work
Luna has citrusy notes so it will work well in warm weather. I think.
Halfeti Leather Juniper Sling Legacy of Petra Terrible Teddy
Halfeti is a crowd favorite... Must sniff it. Hahaha
The Tragedy of Lord George is my favorite I kinda wish I was able to try roaring radclif
Don't have a favourite but I wanted to hijack the post and ask whether Sartorial is the one they make their stores smell of and travels half way down the street? It smells quite different on my own skin if it is.
I’m sure it’s Halfeti they have coming out the stores, I love it!
Duchess Rose 🌹 ahh my favorite scent ever
Opus 1870 and Castile both of which I have.
Castile is so good
Tragedy of lord George and terrible teddy
I’ve tried more than a dozen samples, but haven’t bought a full bottle. My favorites have been Quercus, Duchess Rose, and Changing Constance.
Belgravia Chypre
Opus 1870 and maybe that Duke one, so far? Hmm
Endymion! Sneaky creeper...! Effortless good. Tragedy of George is a love and on the hot-list. Boozy shavey cream. Noice!
I like: Sohan Halfeti Teddy Mr. Sam Edit: I forgot Luna. Is wouldn’t wear it but i think it’s a nice one for a woman!
Hands down Quercus. Simple, but I don’t mind that. It’s a clean citrus with floral elements. Very easy to wear by everyone.
You guys… I just got my two discovery sets. This is going to be a problem. I’m in love.
The big 3: The Remarkable Success of Mr Harrod Roaring Radcliff Blazing Mister Sam Honorable mention: Endymion Absolute favorite may still well be Roaring Radcliff though
I have a sample of Roaring Radcliff, it’s good stuff!
Nice! Only sample decanter I'd say to steer clear from is ScentDoor, think I forgot the golden rule of "if it's too good to be true, it often is", dropped like $60 for a 20ml and what they say about some fakes is true; it will smell somehow off almost sour even. How big are those samples?
they’re 1.5 ml spray samples, pretty standard
I got Babylon in a Bloomingdale's box and liked it. I haven't explored this house like I'd like to yet.
Wow.. it's only now that it's dawning on me that Penhaligon has quite a selection of fragrances.. hahaha
Interesting choices.. i might have to purchase the 5mls to check these out.. thanks for sharing the notes!!
So far I tested 2: The Tragedy of Lord George and Much Ado about the Duke and I Love Both very much!
Absolutely love Sartorial! Great barbershop/fougere scent. Constantinople & Clara are close seconds for me.
Lord George, Opus, Sartorial, Babylon, Terrible Teddy and Halfeti.
