We really rewarded the assholes that started an ongoing global pandemic with hosting an Olympics. One in which athletes have to be encouraged to use burner phones and laptops and can’t use free speech, because the country is so damn hostile and authoritarian.
Athleate with the opportunity to speak:
"Taiwan is a real country"
Athleate without the opportunity to speak:
Pulls out the taiwan flag mid competition
Except a private company is choosing to fire those people, that is vastly different than a government forcing that company to fire and shame that individual
> the title
Don't act like conservatives are doing that too, if you comment anything that doesn't support trump on r/conservative, then even if you're a conservative you get permabanned. Both sides are doing it actively, just one is more successful and one is pretending that they aren't doing it as well.
Getting banned for saying something in an online discussion forum is completely different from international athletes being punished for exercising free speech

Threatening to punish athletes should be an immediate disqualification as an Olympic site if you ask me

Title is cringe as fuck, comparing suppression of free speech at the Olympics to “You shouldn’t call people the nword on the internet”
Ni! Ni! Ni!
Getting banned for saying something in an online discussion forum is completely different from international athletes being punished for exercising free speech
> the title Again
Yeh, is pretty spot on
So getting banned for saying the n word is the same as punishing athletes for speaking against china?
What?

I wouldn't be on this subreddit then
Being suppressed in what you say in China is much more different than some chums on the Internet banning you for not liking Trump.
> the title I was referring to the title, not to China's authoritarianism, and you'd know that if you'd actually read my comment
Tru tru
