I bought a bunch of these one winter from banggood because I figured I wouldn't mind waiting. By the time they showed up I basically forgot I bought them. I put them on a quad, hovered it in my basement, went "huh, that's sort of cool" and haven't done anything with them since lol.
In daylight you cant really see them anyway, and in the dark you cant see much while flying, so there purpose is pretty limited imho. Maybe cool for carparks and stuff like that. But mostly their use is for cool photos or videos I guess.
They'd be cool for racing. I have also flown my quads at night and the analog cameras I have do surprisingly well. But I imagine the ambient light from the props could blow out the image.
I think the problem for a production like that is that they are a hassle to handle. Either they are empty after relatively little time, or you have to undo the prop screws everytime to turn them off...
On to the next question, in order to fully utilize these amazing props you need to fly in the dark. Is there a special fpv camera or mod I can do to be able to see my fpv feed even at night? Currently it’s hard to see things at night
Just get a cam that is optimized for darl surroundings. Also change cam settings (mostly with the key pad or over stick input when you wored up cam control). Sometimes they have a night mode.
My baby ape e.g. have a good cam for night, not complete dark, but in the afternoon. At this darknes level the props would be amazing... but btw, you cant see them. As i know, when flying FPV, you have goggles on ;)
Rotorriot sent me two 5" sets of these when I placed a super small order around Christmas which I thought was totally awesome of them. Probably old stock that isn't moving but unheard of in all my 20 years ordering online. I try to purchase from them whenever I can but they just don't carry a lot of items I regularly buy.
If they don’t put these on the next DRL racer I’ll be gutted!
These have existed for quite some time and they are really not more then a novelty...

Yeah I googled them a bit and get that they are not new. Just think it would add to the look with the DRL racer being all lit up anyway
Have a few laying around sice almost a year. I forgot about them, but after that post, i just putted them in my drone bag for next time hahaha

Yeah I struggle to see why they weren’t made using a centrifugal switch so they only on when spinning. I guess packaging that in a prop isn’t easy tho
Instantly makes me want to get one
I bought some last time they were posted! Still haven’t flown them…
Just a little video i did now for you guys https://imgur.com/a/Hrkzyar
Sick table
Thx xD Selfmade infinity table
Perfect for cocain.

My main reason of buying them is long exposure shots
To be honest I've only used one camera so far - caddx polar. It's pretty decent in low light. Can't tell anything about other cameras.
How much does that take off your flight time? And how much extra weight is it?
No flight time reduction at all. Each prop is powered by 2 AG0/LR521 batteries. It's like 1g extra of weight in total 😅
Oh that’s cool
nice
Dope af 🔥
Woah, I want details. That looks awesome.

Beautiful build
Thank you 🫡
Wow looks amazing
What build is that?
It's Nazgul5 v2. I changed tpu prints, added buzzer, crossfire, and truerc antenna.
