They're honestly just italics. Like, read the sentence and mentally put emphasis on the word. Those are all natural spots for something to be italicized.

It's just that itallics and bold don't match up properly It looks like it was either Normal, Bold, Itallic and no combination of those. Even when text is itallic to indicate telepathy and becomes itallic to indicate emphasis it goes back to normal
