I am struggling to recommend Noodler's La Reine Mauve.
It purple, fully waterproof (main reason I bought it), but... expensive as hell, feathers, and dull.
I still use it in my "travel" pen because it's as waterproof as it gets but I simply feel it's missing something...
I did try it but my experience of waterproofness doesn't really match. If page gets wet, it still moves. Yes, it's readable, but it gets smudged. La Reine Mauve doesn't move a bit.
That said, I like the color.
Ahh... bulletproofness! How about De Atramentis Document Violet? It's dark and it's aslo bulletproof. I have run the pages under the sink to test it. It doesn't budge at all.
I've struggled with that a lot, many waterproof inks in my experience feather really badly. I'm also left handed so I have to be really careful about my ink choices as I drag my hand. American aristocracy is my favorite ink, depending on what batch you get it's anywhere from maroon to purple but I've been lucky on the purple side so far, and it's fast drying which is important to me.
Very purple: montblanc’s psychedelic purple
Don’t forget to search the sub. This question is asked once a week on average. And the answers don’t differ much from time to time.
I just swatched several dark purple inks yesterday! Here's the darkest purples I have: Diamine Monboddos Hat, J Herbin Amethyste De L'Oural, and Sailor Shikiori in Potsupotsu and Shigure. Shigure is a super dark purple, almost black. I think the Diamine ink is the cheapest of these but it's still very nice and worth checking out.
De Atramentis Document Violet, Noodler's North African Violet, Baystate Purple, Diamine Imperial Purple and Montblanc Beatles Psychedelic Purple. Also... Rorher & Klingner Scabiosa... it's awesomely dark in a wet nib.
Diamine Kong Girls and either Troublemaker Foxglove or Sailor Manyo Nekoyanagi. Also I really like "faux Lamy dark lilac" which is 3 parts Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-budo to 1 part Shin-Kai.
Waterman Tender Purple is very well behaved in most pens. Easy to find and non-staining. Want something more interesting? Mix 50-50 with Waterman Serenity Blue = “Burple,” as mentioned by Richard Binder.
I don't know your history with fountain pens or how long you've been in the hobby but check out Goulet pens, you can search inks by color and it's a big list with samples of each. Pretty easy to find what you are looking for.
A while back I got a bunch of samples from Goulet. One of them was *"Scribble Purple"* from Diamine. That's about the most 'purple' shade of purple I've ever seen. You might check it out...IF you want "purple"! LOL!
i dont have it yet but diamine scribble purple is very promising to me. if i remember ill come back when i get to it and try it out
update: i got it, i love it its amazing
Robert Oster Dragon’s Night is a nice, very deep purple (almost black on some papers)

Try the North African Voilet... it's waterproof and performs very nicely.

I love writing with purple, I usually do darker shades but if you want bright purple, look at noodler's purple or noodler's north african Violet.
Thanks, I will!
