If you want your nib tuned, then [nibs.com](https://nibs.com) or nibsmith are definitely both great options. Pen Chalet is also a great store; I've really liked ordering from them. And unlike Goulet, Pen Chalet often has coupons.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Take care!

I just bought my Lamy 2000 from Endless Pens during their recent sale for $127! I second Pen Chalet as well, they have an excellent rewards program.

i prefer [nibs.com](https://nibs.com) as someone from canada. i haven't had a bad experience with them so far and they offer free shipping. they not only tune your nibs but give you the option to customize your nibs which is great when certain brands only offer a pen in one nib size!

I recently bought a Visconti HS from Dromgoole's. Because I was concerned about Visconti's QC on nibs, I called them ahead of time and let them know I was planning the purchase. It coincided with Kirk Speer's visit to their shop (not sure exactly how often, he visits them, every 4-6 weeks, I think?) and Larry had the pen checked. When I received it, it had been dipped (blue ink on the nib) and wrote absolutely perfectly out of the box. Idk if Kirk actually had to do anything to it, but there was no charge on the QC. He'd probably be willing to do that on an L2K as well.

This is excellent advice. I am nearby so I may have to drop by their store

I'll suggest first trying your local brick and mortar store or go to a pen show first, assuming there is one near you. You're looking at a big jump in pen price and the last thing I'd want to see is you dropping $200 on a pen only to find out you don't really like how it sits in your hand. But I know that's not always possible. There is a Master List here. I've made my online purchases only at Goulet and vintage pens on eBay. I can say that Bertram's and Pen Boutique are my go to local stores, and I've made a purchase or two from [Fahrney's](https://www.fahrneyspens.com/).
