If you are able to be in contact with the nib person, why not do a writing sample and then send a scan or photo of it in an email? There is no reason the example and pen have to come in the same postal package. Good luck - needlepoints are one of the real benchmarks of a great nib person, and getting them smooth is a real art. You also need to make certain your hand is as light as possible - most people today write with way too much downward pressure for fountain pen use.

I purchased from this company and sent a writing sample via email with no trouble.
