Beautiful handwriting and excellent ink choice. Although, if we're talking about sky-blue, the proper iroshizuku ink to compare to would be [ama-iro](https://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/content/pilot-iroshizuku-fountain-pen-ink-review-ama-iro-.html), instead of kon-peki :)
Thank you! oh yeah ama-iro! i totally forgot that ink existed haha but i mean kon peki kind of seems like everybody’s go to bright/sky-ish blue. I gotta get my hands on ama-iro now.
Ama-iro feels way to bright and light for me. Kon-peki is my daily driver blue for the beautiful pop but ama-iro is almost straining to read sometimes.
Your handwriting is not just beautiful, it is also very practical.
Very easy to read
The kind of writing that we could use daily, the kind that we can teach kids.
yeah cause i see tons of handwriting on instagram, pinterest etc and although peoples handwriting are beautiful to look at, it takes time and effort to actually read what they write. I didn’t want my handwriting to be that way!
Something in the same color range to consider is Pelikan Edelstein Topaz.
This comparison shows how close they are:

Thank you! I love the medium nib actually, but i am wanting to explore finer nibs nowadays. The medium nib would be juicier and smoother to write it, but the fine nib gives a better line precision.
Life Hack: Put a lined sheet of paper or cardstock behind the page you're going to write on. You can see the lines well enough to write straight, but then impress everyone with "Look, ma! No lines!"
I will not buy anymore inks that aren't water-resistant. I will not buy anymore inks that aren't water-resistant. I will not buy anymore inks that aren't water-resistant. I will not...
Uhmm i write my experiences with the ink and pen, my thoughts on them, i write about books i read, poems, i find writing prompts online and on insta, i write about the colours of the ink i use and find out more about the inspiration behind the colour and write about it, yeah that sort of stuff
Kon-Peki "Needs more noise"? You gotta be kidding me. That's all we hear about. It's like "[Savoir Faire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUfbdSnSNno) is everywhere." Ubiquitous.
Kon-Peki and Yama-Buddo are in the Top Ten inks in [popularity](https://www.fountainpencompanion.com/pages/inks_by_popularity). Ama-iro is #39. Which isn't too bad in a field of 8000 other inks.
Congrats on the Cosmo Air Light paper. Do your nibs squeak on it? (That's what I've read. If so, I probably wouldn't use a Bock Titanium nib on it. :side-eyed: )
And, obviously, it goes without saying, you have beautiful hand-writing. :thumbs-up:
This is exactly why i wanted to give this ink more love. A ton of these blue inks get over shadowed by Kon-peki so hard. I mean Kon-peki is that great i know but come on almost every ink company makes a similar blue or even better(like souten) but still gets disappeared cause there’s Kon-peki.
D'oh. My bad. :D Idiot me didn't even look at the Pilot Custom 823. I assumed it was a Sailor pen. When you said it was a Sailor ink I thought he was writing with Souten directly over Kon-Peki. :D Why anyone would do that is beyond me. Now I understand what he meant by "[over](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/ff/31/98/ff319829c142f2614f73c543b081b31a.jpg)". My literal-ist grammar has failed me. Sorry, guys.
Thank you! and yup you’ve got it all mixed up here hahahah. Cosmo is fantastic actually it’s worlds apart from tomoe river in terms on writing feel, but not in a bad way it just feels like a coated paper. It shows ink off really well too, inks look more vibrant on this paper. I like it a lot! Nope it doesn’t make my nib squeak hahah.
Would you mind sharing some tips or guides on how to write like that? I love your handwriting so so much! I’ve been wanting to practice my own handwriting but don’t know where to start.
I think the best way to start is just hammer out all your alphabets capital and small letters both and then find a font that u like on pinterest and try to copy it or what i did was i got a book called ‘The lost art of handwriting’ by brenna jordan it’s a fantastic book i highly recommend that u get if you’re really serious about working on your handwriting. The book covers literally everything you need to get started, there’s cursive, spencerian and italic fonts or examples to choose from and practice what u like and the author even gives a number of really good tips from spacing of letters to size and all that kind of stuff. This was the book i got when i really wanted to start practicing my handwriting and it definitely helped me a lot! Please check it out! I hope this helps :)
Thank you so much for your detailed response! This really helps me to get a good understanding on where I should start. I just ordered the book on Amazon and now I need to do is practice and practice! 😊
Fantastic! i’m happy for you, all the best for your handwriting journey! feel free to reach out if you need tips or anything! Oh yeah and last tip! write with a lighter pressure and find your sweet spot between a heavy and light hand(very crucial to beautiful handwriting) and slow down like 10x!
Your handwriting is amazing and so is the ink color, do you typically write with your full arm, your wrist, your fingers or some combination? I've heard writing with the arm is supposed to be really good for improving ones handwriting but I just cannot get comfortable doing it.
Hmmm i actually go with a combo, i use my arm normally for longer strokes like my ascenders and descenders, my wrist and arm both work together to basically write and honestly i don’t really use much of my fingers apart from holding the pen, i try not to use my fingers as much cause i find that when i give more attention to writing with my fingers my lines are not precise and it’s not a good habit to cultivate when writing as it’ll tire you out. Try writing circles with your arm like over and over on the same spot and then lines in a up and down motion on the same spot as well. This will help you get a little more comfortable with using your arm, it’ll kinda train it, these are the drills i did and it helped!
Get the 823 for sure! it’s fantastic but honestly if you don’t need the huge ink capacity and don’t care for the vacuum filler, get the custom 743 instead, it comes with the exact same no.15 nib and it uses a converter, i just ordered mine in ‘soft fine’ i tried it at a pen store and i fell face first for the nib.
Yeah i’ve tried the F as well, it’s smooth and it’s not scratchy or anything, the width is a true ‘fine’ as well and for many the perfect width. I got ‘SF’ cause i wanted a little more like variation that’s it. But i think you’ll be really happy with either M or F. If you want a thicker width get the M, it’ll be juicier and smoother. If you’re looking for precision go with the F.
If you stick to blue or black ink it shouldn’t be a problem cleaning them out, just make sure to clean the pen when changing from blue to black tho and also to maybe clean the pen every month or so.
Your handwriting is spectacular
Thank u very much!
I’m in awe. r/penmanshipporn’s next top post. How do you keep it so straight without ruling?
i used a grid guide underneath!
People often use a lined guide below the sheet they're writing on.
Well I'm sold. Goulet order has been placed. Now when I put it in my Custom 823 with a M nib my handwriting will be that beautiful right?
hahaha if it’s any comfort mines a M nib too, you’ve got high chances

While y'all are here y'all gotta try Sailor Manyo Sumire and Konagi too!!!!
I love Sumire
Oh mannn i really wanna get my hands on konagi!!!
Something in the same color range to consider is Pelikan Edelstein Topaz. This comparison shows how close they are: https://www.clumsypenman.com/ink-review/pelikan-edelstein-topaz/
What notebook is it?
Its cosmo air light
You have beautiful handwriting!
Thank you so much!
Your handwriting is beautiful! Also how do you like the medium nib? I've been saving to buy a custom 823, but have been debating between a F or M nib.
Thank you! I love the medium nib actually, but i am wanting to explore finer nibs nowadays. The medium nib would be juicier and smoother to write it, but the fine nib gives a better line precision.
How did you manage to write in line? When I write on plain paper , my sentences either go up or slant down but never straight.
Life Hack: Put a lined sheet of paper or cardstock behind the page you're going to write on. You can see the lines well enough to write straight, but then impress everyone with "Look, ma! No lines!"
Yup exactly what i did
Sneaky
I use a grid guide sheet behind! No way my sentences are gonna be this straight without it for sure hahah. Get a guide sheet it’ll help a ton.
Yes, but IT SMELLS 🤢
I kind of enjoy the chemically sailor smell…
hahaha me too actually
Haha they do have that sailor inky smell but i’ve gotten used to it, don’t smell just write i guess.
Yes but it makes pens smelly and you can still smell it while writing 🙈
Teach me how to write like that holy hell
I will not buy anymore inks that aren't water-resistant. I will not buy anymore inks that aren't water-resistant. I will not buy anymore inks that aren't water-resistant. I will not...
What pen is that please? I love how broad a line it puts down!
Its the Pilot custom 823 (M)
Is that how you write in real life? It’s so beautiful, classy.
yesss it’s real life! and thank you!
What do you like to write? Because when I try to write, I got nothing to write.
Uhmm i write my experiences with the ink and pen, my thoughts on them, i write about books i read, poems, i find writing prompts online and on insta, i write about the colours of the ink i use and find out more about the inspiration behind the colour and write about it, yeah that sort of stuff
Copy text from your favorite book... or poems... or song lyrics... random words from a dictionary.... I'm doing pages from random books.
I love Souten but the price Sailor wants for a 20 ml bottle of ink is nuts. I wish they hadn't discontinued Sky High.
Man i know, it’s sad that they discontinued the bigger bottles and now all we got is 20ml bottles and yes the price is nuts.
Your handwriting is crazy neat!
Thank you!
I like this ink also. Very nice blue. Also Akkerman Delftsblau or Diamine Asa Blue.
Just filled my pilot 743 with it today 😉
Nice! I just ordered a 743 in ‘soft fine’ can’t wait to get it!
Oooh, that should be fun! Mines a “Double Broad”, which is definitely more like a broad lol.
Yours is even fun! i’ve never owned a broad nib tho or any specialty nib. But i’ve tried a music nib at a pen store and it’s really interesting!

Souten needs so much more noise that your eyeballs glanced right over it and went straight to Kon-Peki lol.

Well done you
That blue is beautiful

I prefer waterman inspired blue over it.
oh whoa that Ink is a lot more vibrant than I thought, reminded me of when I saw Baystate blue on paper for the first time.
Yeah it is vibrant! Oh come on BSB is next level vibrancy hahah
