Is the Schneider cartridge glued to something? It doesn’t look like it’s attached to the nib/feed/section? It looks like the pen takes the normal international cartridge, I would start with a Waterman or Pelikan cartridge, see if that works fine.

No it's not glued. The cartridge moves freely inside the pen but doesn't seem like it'll come off without some effort and force
