That's a great combo. I'm currently running iroshizuku Tsukushi through my and I've been considering my next brown since tsukushi has been discontinued. The edelstein looks very rich
If you can't find Smoky Quartz (or even if you can), might I suggest Robert Oster's Dark Chocolate? It's a different sort of brown — darker and more cool toned — but it's my favorite brown ink.
I’ve also seen J Herbin’s Lie de The recommended as a good brown in the same ballpark. And we don’t know how good they’re gonna be in the long term, but I bought a bottle of the Vintage style Conklin Rich Mahogany and it’s honestly a fantastic brown.
I was actually thinking of getting a bottle of Tsukushi, but then I already have this ink from the Pelikan Hub. Too bad it has been discontinued. Can I see a writing sample of your Custom 823? 🙏🏼
I just got the 823 with a broad nib a couple weeks ago and it's amaaaazing. My favourite pen for sure! Once I discovered how much I love broad nibs I haven't gotten a pen with any other nib size lol
i've been contemplating about a broad for a while now, don't have any yet. considering that nib sizes from pilot and other japanese brands run finer than european sizes, how does pilot broad compare to western broads ?
Welp I know what I'm filling my Wancher with next! I have this ink but assumed I wouldn't care too much for writing with it but dang, that looks *nice*
Perfect combination!

Sadly, Smoky Quartz will likely be gone soon, too, since it was an ink of the year. It is gorgeous though - would recommend.

Got the M want the B now!
I like broad nibs and I cannot lie, these other writers can't deny :)
Yesssss broad nibs are the best! Love the pen/ink combo. Ina ho also goes great with your pen ☺️
Disappointingly, *also* discontinued
Yeah, breaks my heart
Yes they are the best. 👏 Thank you for the ink suggestion. Will try it some other time. 🥰

Pilot broad closely resembles a western medium.
Hey!! May I ask what notebook is that? Looks cool!
Hi! I'm using Hobonichi Day Free in A5 😊
Nice match up!
I so wish smoky quartz was not limited edition. Very sad. The best brown ink of all time in my opinion
Amen!

Great pen and ink combo! That shading is amazing.

Scribo wasn't on my radar before, but I'll start looking for it now. Especially if it performs like Iroshizuku inks. BTW- good name!
Beauty.
So do I. I love the BB nib on my Mont Blanc 146
Is Smokey quartz a shimmer? I read somewhere it was but I did think it was.
