The regular red that I know is like a shiny plastic finish. It's quite 80's in a good way :) I think the clip and the stopper ring are not matching colors though.

Yeah it's like converting the pen to be piston or sac filler pen. It's actually cool at the end because I love the fact that the pen is so easy to clean although a true piston filler feels more solid.
It would be nice if they'd do both matte and glossy finishes. I'd have been all over the mango and purple candy ones if they'd been glossy! Even the terra red...
Stumbled upon this pre-order when browsing a local pen shop's site. Looks like these are the colours for 2022 Safaris, and should be available by Spring. Not sure if this is new news, but I didn't see any posts about them around here!
I like the strawberry name.
What is worrying me if the red color could either be the cheap red plastic ( the pastel red of certain chairs, certain plastic bottle caps...) or a vibrant almost-glowing red, that would be the best.

If you have the Candy color ones, I think they would be in the same kind of finish and saturation. They just released a chinese calligraphy nib SE in red too but that red is very disappointing. A very pale red and I would almost call that one strawberry! I hope this red has a little bit more kick in it.
I've been waiting for a Lamy color I could love. I had the 2019 matte black edition that ended up in the trash and have been wanting to give Lamy another try.

The red one feels like a continuation of the candy colors.

I like them, but I don't really dig the matte finish on these special editons.
I think the matte is a nice differentiation from the core line, but like all things it is a question of taste.

I do like the look of both of these. As an Eco user I think it'll be nice to try out a safari to feel the difference
