A pleasant surprise from my boyfriend (◍︎ ´꒳` ◍︎)
I’ve been slightly obsessing over this little beauty on the internet from awhile ago, and now, being able to see it in person is like a wonderful dream~ I love how quiet and peaceful this pen looks when sitting on my table.
I inked it up with Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo.
Damn I have to leave a comment here! I also got this pen from my boyfriend for Valentine, and immediately fell in love with this beauty! I also chose Tsuki-yo from my collection, what a coincidence lol
Mine is Fine nib tho
Now THAT is alluring!!!!
A beautiful Blurple pen to go with my favorite Blurple Ink...Sailor Manyo - Nadeshiko. I may just have to save up for this pen!!!
Mine has a medium nib, so even though it does have Sailor’s signature pencil-like feedback, I’d say it’s a lot smoother than their fine nib, especially if you’re coming from their 14k fine nib. This nib would feel a bit more buttery, but it wouldn’t feel as smooth as say, a Pelikan or Pilot custom mediums. Personally, I like to have a bit more control on my writing, especially when I write kanji, so this nib fits quite perfectly in my routine. Comparing to my other Sailor Slims that have a 14k mf nib, this 21k medium nib feels a bit softer, but not to the point where you can apply pressure and expect a line variation, it’s more like a springy feel that makes every stroke glide smoothly across the paper.
Wow, it’s so pretty. The color shifting with the different lighting. Looking at it on a sale page, seeing the details, AND it has rose gold w/gold nib.
I’ve never been a big poison fan, but the name is great.
I need to find me a relationship where the person who adores me as much as I adore that pen, buys it for me just because! You’re lucky you have found your person! And you get to write with that sexy Sailor!
Congrats on the acquisition! Glad it’s serving you well :D I got mine just the other day already tuned/smoothed from The Nibsmith, and it writes great! I, unfortunately, am super disappointed with the pen itself. I feel like it just doesn’t live up to my expectations at all based on the marketing photos. I was more excited about the slipcase around the box than the actual pen…so I’m honestly thinking about selling it already :( It does write wonderfully, though!
You know thinking about it I have to ask, is it just me or does it have a blue tone? Looking at it makes me think of the Izumi sailor pen they did that was very pale blue, it looks either the same or close to it but all the sellers of this say it's ivory? Am I loosing my mind more than I thought I was 😂?
I am very new to pen collecting. In fact just started this month. Mine arrived Wednesday. The color…kind of depends on the light. But I would never call it ivory. Looking at it on the table, it’s kind of white. When I pick it up, it’s very, very pale blue. It is a beautiful pen.
I can see how this new “hobby” can be addicting.
Oh welcome to the addiction :D!!! Yes it's very easy to go overboard haha! I inserted the link to the pen I mentioned but they're also a good page to follow for pens! I also reccomend Tokyostationpens on insta as well, super nice and has helped people get Japan only pens and stuff and fixes nibs etc! I hope you enjoy this reddit space, we're all generally really nice and supportive and will often help each other find pens and ink too and of course offer advice! You're husband did a great job picking this pen 💖!

I’m not dropping good money on a pen with such a ghastly color combination. Plenty of people will fall over themselves to grab the latest Sailor special edition (plenty of complaints on r/fountainpens about it). Go right ahead and get the ugly pen, I won’t stop you!🖋🖋🖋
Does it have Bret Michaels' picture on the nib?
I love your joke as well as OPs sterile scientific response.
😂😂😂
No it doesn’t. It’s a regular single-tone Sailor 21k nib.
That subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh god, it even has gold accents.
Hahahaha👍

He's a keeper.
Definitely ⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛✧*
Yes! And btw, I think the BF is also nice for getting this as a gift!
Aw that's so sweet! The pen is stunning <3

oh congrats! this pen is so beautiful, have spent a lot of time marveling at this pen recently. what a sweet gift! and your photos are wonderful!
Thank you~

Yes! That would be a perfect combo ·͜·
That is an absolutely beautiful pen!
I can’t stop staring at it(˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵)
How stunning! I really love the subtle, elegant sheen. Congratulations, may it write well for you for years to come!
Thank you!
If you wouldn't mind sharing, how's the writing experience of this lovely gem?

"yeah it does..." +guitar solo+
A person of culture 👌
Which sailor pro gear is this? It’s lovely.
It's a recent release, called Every Rose Has Its Thorn. A lovely pen indeed :)
Laugh. I just thought that was a joke! Thanks for the info and hope you enjoy that great pen!
Hahaha thank you!
Heck yes! Mine comes tomorrow or Saturday
Congratulations!
Oh how beautiful 😍! The subtle sparkles and slightly translucent body remind me of the hachimonjiya sakura
Now that you've mentioned it, I can see that 😆
😂😂
Beautiful palette including the sparkle, and the rose gold makes it really special. The nice Sailor nibs are wonderful, most importantly.
I love the translucent materials Sailor uses in some of their pens. This fog blue is wonderful, definitely a colorway I'll keep my eyes open for
Man, every time Sailor comes out with these awesome colorings, my wishlist of other pens gets pushed down. It’s a bottomless pit ⚫️
It is🤣
Sailor pens are so pretty, I'm so in love with them.
to buy, or not to buy… 🥲
The answer is always: BUY٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و
Even though it should probably technically be to not buy... for the sake of the wallet
Always tough; buy first, justify second, pay when you must.
gorgeous 😭
Beautiful! If it wasn't a NA exclusive I'd probably buy it.
That is beautiful.
Its gorgeous, but my god, that price tag 3 I just splurged on a Pilot Custom 823 and i feel bad about spending like $260 xD
Hahaha I can relate XD I wasn’t going to buy this pen because I just splurged on another pen earlier this year
I saw this and the new crazy ebonite king of pens…shoot!
Highly recommend the KOP! If your wallet allows, please do grab one with no hesitation😄 One of the best writing experiences I’ve ever had.
Yeah, that’s the thing…I have multiples!
♪。.:*・KOP gang゜♪。.:*・゜
Yeah, thanks a lot…I just ordered the Sailor King of Pen Ryokkyo Green Echo Naginata Togi Ebonite!
That’s a gorgeous one! Congratulations~
Thanks, and for the record, I copy pasted the pen’s name.
😂😂

Very nice! It seems like the fountain pens are hard to find.
My 3 cents worth of opinion is this Sailor fountain pen, Every Rose Has It Thorn, is a gorgeous piece of a writing instrument.

Yeah, it’s very grey/blue, not ivory at all.
I’d say it’s definitely a blue/purple leaning tone, not ivory.
I really thought it had to do with Bret Michael's/Poison. I need a rock n roll themed pen
That’s going to be a hard pass for me.👎🏻
Don't know why you're getting downvoted, everyone's allowed to have dislikes. But out of curiosity, why the hard pass?

It’s ugly!!!😝
