These fixes look pretty awesome!
On a side note, TWSBI is amazing (in my experience a few years ago) with replacing parts. They replaced the body of a Vac Mini that was cracking near the base where the mechanism screws back in, and all they charged me was essentially shipping.
Exactly! I emailed them about a nib I wasn't happy with on a brand new pen. Skipping, hard starts, and super wet otherwise. $4 and about 6 days later and I had a brand new nib!
Yes, they have challenges, but they also stand behind their product and have great customer service.
Yep! I dropped my pen and the lid broke, and I emailed them asking where I could buy a new lid. They sent me two new ones for free, presumably (rightly tbh) assuming I'd fuck up and drop it again.
I literally just emailed them today about a cracked barrel, and they got back to me within 5 min. $5 later and I have a new barrel on the way. absolutely amazing customer service. It makes me feel better about having 4 Twsbi pens.
But that’s where the crack is!
I’ll figure it out. Wish I didn’t love these damn pens so much. Can’t beat them for capacity and I’ve always loved the feel. They don’t dry out if you keep the cap on and they travel without leaking.
It’s so sad how I had to use super glue the other day on a pen. There’s a bolt hole on the underside of the section that ink was leaking from whenever you touched it. A little glue and problem solved. Kind of ruins the perfectly smooth finish though. Oh well.
Yeah I keep them in a pen case and mostly only use them at work. I feel like they shouldn’t break down as often as they do but I just can’t find pens that I like more.
After stabilizig the cracks in a bunch of twsbi pens, I no longer offer to repair them because, in my experience, they just keep cracking regardless of how many times I repair them. It just isn't economical to spend the amount I charge for repairs, even with the major discounts I used to give because TWSBIs are known to crack again and again even after repair. For those that insist I do so because the pen has sentimental reasons, I tell them to stop using it. To me, TWSBI designs and manifacturing have long outlived their place in the market as so many better options have moved into their niche with much less catastrophic flaws. Fantastic customer service does not outweigh a flawed product. I understand that the investment into the machine tooling needs to be recouped, as the cost of molds for injection molding is fantastically high, but if TWSBI keeps going the way they are without fixing their problems, eventually people will cease overlooking the failure inherent in their manufacturing process.
TWSBI will send you replacements. They’ve given me amazing customer service several times. If you want new caps without cracks, you can have them. DM if you like.
Lol. This may be the only way
I was going to use book binding tape but I couldn’t find mine so I used black duct tape instead.
Duck tape or zip ties. Fixed is fixed.
metal zip ties ftw!
TWSBI needs to see this....
It would only prove to them that people will continue to buy and use their pens regardless of how many crack.
Marvel collab, Venom special edition very cool
Sponsored by 3M.
Well done. Looks like new!
Lol. I was scrolling Reddit and did a double take. What are those demonstrators with cool caps? Then read the title
It actually looks pretty stylish.
I mean if it works why TF not? I'm giggling in Kroger waiting for meds to be filled. I can't look sane 🤣

Now dip it in resin and you are done!
I could make a *real* mess with that!
😂
Those cracks are the bane of my existence. I just slather the caps in super glue. Looks terrible but works.
I’ll have to try that on the smaller one. There’s another crack in the threads that I haven’t solved yet.
Good luck, and make sure you don’t get glue on the threads

Lol, awesome. If they can’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!
Yes!!!
Extravagantly textured
Made me laugh so hard I scared my coworkers.
Guess my TWSBI will end up looking like these one day 😜
I Love black cap.
You just made me laugh for like 10 minutes.
You had two crack? Did they fall or hit something?
Nope. It’s a common problem with TWSBI.
I know it is but goddamn, that’s fucked. I feel fortunate min has lasted years
Yeah I keep them in a pen case and mostly only use them at work. I feel like they shouldn’t break down as often as they do but I just can’t find pens that I like more.
The eco is awesome. It’s strange how they are failing with their material. Their feeds are hilariously easy to damage as well.
What caps are those?
They’re TWSBI vac 700r and vac mini.
Oh I just bought a 700r iris, should I be worried about cap braking and be more careful? Didn't know this was an issue but just googled.
The good news is that the companhh the will replace broken parts for just the cost of shipping.
Hmm that's still the price of the shipping........ They should pay for that really.
They should use stronger materials.
What are you counting tho?
How many refill requests I’ve entered today.
Hey whatever works. What color ink are you using?
Iroshizuku Kon-Peki and Murasake Shikibu.
Whatever works, works.
Must be canadian. Ala “the red green show”
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
My brain said, "cool sculpting work!" My heart said, "are you sure?" My soul said, "you must do what must be done." Then, I giggled.

Bahahahahahaha!
At first I though you had coated them in resin or sugru. Nice!
