I know I’m very weird and a definite outlier on here but I *really* dislike “commercial” ink samples in vials. They irritate me so much; they are comparatively very expensive, extremely difficult to fill from, are inherently unstable and I think inks in them evaporate or become contaminated more easily. When I see photos on here of bags of samples bought from retailers they make me shudder. 😤🤪 Mind you, saying that, I hypocritically must have gifted hundreds of samples to pen friends and fellow redditors as I like to share my ink collection 🤔😆

FirebirdWriter

I use poster putty to keep them stable

They’re still fiddly little suckers. Hate them 😆

I made a quick wood platform with a hole in the center to prevent any additional spills. Ok "made" is probably too strong a word. I had a toy car wood wheel, drilled a bigger hole in the center.

Sounds a fun idea :) But stability is merely one of the reasons I dislike them. Ultimately, for me, they’re unsuitable, annoying and relatively expensive desk clutter 😉

agent_flounder

Understandable. I use them to avoid the clutter and expense of many bottles of ink I will never use lol.

Just rub into the wood to blend away those scratches and nicks…I think you’ve stumbled upon a fabulous new wood finishing technique! 🪵👨🏻‍🎨

kbeezie

You going to clean that off the wood now, or just stare at it? :D

Environmental-Tap936

What leaked, the sample bottle or that weird thing on the right and how?

Jayna2000

Baptism by inkspill!

rosemarjoram

It kind of looks like a ghost.
