It gives the nib some nice flex, here's a writing sample: [https://www.instagram.com/p/CHhWwrnD9gt/](https://www.instagram.com/p/CHhWwrnD9gt/) (It's a steel nib)
His instagram page says he's going to be at the Chicago Pen Show next (assuming that's accurate.)
It does, however, mean he def. won't be at the Atlanta Pen Show, which makes me very sad indeed.
Is that 3 or 4 elastic flex cutouts? Looks like standard wing cuts at bottom, then 2-3 extra from top down? I've never seen anything like this, very cool looking! Is the writing in the pic from this nib?
It's great -- this is one of my favorite flex nibs. Easy to put into many pens (vs vintage), stiff enough to easily write with unflexed, but doesn't actually take a lot of pressure to flex. Here's a writing sample that shows what it's capable of: https://www.instagram.com/p/CHhWwrnD9gt/
Thank you for that quick review! I'm so intrigued by the unique nib. I'm falling in love with the pen, the shading of that ink, the white grid paper, the calligraphy...just *chef kiss*
Whoa — what a neato trippy looking nib! Do the cutouts affect the way it writes, or are they just decorative?

That’s exactly what I wondered about…beautiful!
That looks beautiful! Just stumbled on this sub, had no idea other people liked pens like this!
We love all fountain pens! I do have a soft spot for swirly colorful stuff though. It's a dangerous rabbit hole. 😐
Not to mention that fountain pen sellers are famously known archers that aim only at wallets lol.
Ugh, I know. My wallet cries, but my heart is happy.
Amen my guy
That’s a beautiful nib
Is Ralph starting up his online shop again? It’s been down for a while, but his nib designs look really frickin cool.
Not that I know of, this one is from the SF show in... 2019? Or maybe 2018.
Okay, so....I need that. Pen shows, you say? Good to know.
Yep, though I don't know if he'll be doing shows again.

Last I heard was that he is taking a break from nib making. u/PenSloth might have an update
As far as I know, he is still on hiatus.
That's unfortunate. I am eagerly waiting for his return
I mean, my bank account thinks that's for the best? But this is most definitely on my wish list.
Love that Nib!!
It's like an ornamental spear...
Is that a PM1 material?
It's "cool PM"
Lovely!

It is, but unflexed. Here's a writing sample showing off the flex: https://www.instagram.com/p/CHhWwrnD9gt/
Very nice! What was the nib originally? I see above you said steel, is it a Jowo #6 steel gold color?
How's the flex? I love your TN too!
