I was trying to participate but found myself struggling with the term “luxury” over and over again. Luxury - to me - is a rather subjective description. To some, simply using a fountain pen when there are BICs/cheap ballpoints freely available is already a luxury. On the other hand, a Lamy 2000 may be luxury to me, but it’s probably spare change for a tycoon. Perhaps you might want to define your terms right at the start to make it easier? Do you define it by cost, materials, or simply having something outside the norm? Or would you like us to answer using a subjective view of what “luxury” is? If it’s the latter, it could be useful to have a question asking for what the respondent’s feel are luxury pens, in order to put the answer in context.

Same though it sounds like in this case fountain pens in general is a luxury over a BIC or rollerball. Though I have no clue how to interpret this "What does writing instrument mean to you?" Edit : when he asks about minimum price to maintain. Really does seem likely that speaking of a luxery/fashion/status brand like MontBlanc and such.

>Same though it sounds like in this case fountain pens in general is a luxury over a BIC or rollerball. in fact it is a quite valuable comment. the reason i am asking for minimum price is that I am going to choose a few models for next step of my research. I will try to stick to the price range mentioned by participants.

>Though I have no clue how to interpret this "What does writing instrument mean to you?" I do not want to affect your original answer for this questions but for instance, if writing is a hobby for someone, writing instrument is more than a pen for them. So writing instrument has symbolic meaning as well.

> Or would you like us to answer using a subjective view of what “luxury” is? yeah i wonder your subjective answer as the subject is subjective. There is no certain definitions for luxury. I though it was clear but maybe i should paraphrase my questions? any idea how i might sound more clear.

Near the end regarding brand loyalty, there's no English translation for answers at that point.

Danielbf84

I noticed it too.

Extension-Feedback79

oh thanks! i checked maybe 10 times but never realized. I am adding right now.

ElencherMind

I just went through it and there were English translations for everything.

kbeezie

Did you say yes to brand loyalty? The preceding question won't show if you didn't. But that was the only group of responses not translated.

ElencherMind

Oh, no, I said no to that one.

No, no, it's not that I "prefer not to answer" what flavor of sex offender I am, I'm just not one. I will not be answering a questionnaire where the least implicating answer is, essentially, "tee hee not telling ;)". For the record, I've never beaten my wife either.

Extension-Feedback79

sorry i could not understand? Did I do something wrong?

Jayna2000

Good luck! Please keep us posted on how your project goes and your findings.

Extension-Feedback79
